The mighty Skins have struck out. No big dance for us. Oh well, congrats to the Seahawks.
If you had told me a year ago that the Redskins would have gone 10-6, swept the Cowboys, swept the Eagles and split with the Giants, in addition to winning five games straight to qualify for the playoffs while also knocking off the NFC South champions in the first round of the playoffs — I would have said you were smoking.
Joe Gibbs football is back in D.C., and they did great this season. Now, if we can just get us a #2 receiver…
Hail to the Redskins. And Dallas sucks.
BY THE WAY: This is why I hate Michael Wilbon being a columnist for the Post. I don’t want total homers in the paper, but for Christ’s sake, could we have a sports columnist who doesn’t actively hate the home team?

If they can’t have a championship ring, this…
…makes for some consolation.
Dallas has a better draft pick. That’s plenty consolation for me. If you aren’t going to win it all, I’ll take the draft position over one lucky playoff win.
What, by one or two spots? Oh man, I sure would like to give up a chance to go for the Superbowl to get the 20th pick or something.
The fact is no one expected this. As I am upset the skins lost to day, I am not angry, we made it this far and Seattle is a far better team.
BTW, Oliver the ’skins need more than another receiver, they need 4.
The Twelfth Man was a big part of that game, from what I could tell. I only watched the 2nd half, but it was a pretty intense game. The Hawks were ready, will, and able to capitalize on any opportunity.
I just got back from the game. The thing that killed our offense was the noise from the hawks fans. It rivaled anything that was ever heard at RFK. Man my ears are still ringing. Seattle fans have a lot of pnt up energy (21 years worth) and it came out in force. But you know whatelse came out in force? Skins fans! Lots of em singing our song to the stadium. You’d never see hawks fans in droves in Landover singing their song. Oh yeah, they don’t have a song.
“Lots of em singing our song to the stadium. You d never see hawks fans in droves in Landover singing their song. Oh yeah, they don t have a song.”
But they have a win.
And a trip to the NFC Championship game.
Good season Washington. Looks like the Dallas-Washington rivalry looks like it’s going to regain the luster it lost in the past few years for the next few years to come.
Yeah, the best thing we can do for next season is to win enough games so we play the playoffs at home. 90k fans in Fedex singing “Hail”? It would be the bomb.
I just read the Wilbon column, you call that hating?
I’m in Wisconsin, I wanted Holmgren to get beat as much as anyone, but I don’t see the hating in that column, in fact (in retrospect) it looks fairly accurate.
Good effort by the Skins. Outgained by a ton, yet they were in it right to the end. My Broncos handled the Patriots thanks to turnovers as well. Heart goes a long way in football.
I was glad to see the Skins did better than the Giants. If the Iggles can’t be in it I never want to see Dallas or NY in it either. Somehow the Skins have never been as distasteful as those two teams.
Wow that Wilbon guy is like the Olesker of sports. Some of it was true, but it was filled with hate.
Sunday afternoon:
OW, I just realized you’re just a Panther’s win away from a clean sweep.
Sunday night:
You wuz skunked!
