Bush’s Speech

This pic from CNN is hilarious.

It’s the naval midshipmen before Bush showed up, but still…

Pretty much sums up my reaction to the speech. Except the part where Bush quoted himself, saying, “Some people say we have no other strategy but to (quote) “Stay the course”….”

Then he goes on to explain how we should - you guessed it - stay the course! Bush has passed through the Nexus of the Universe.

    I like this one too!.

What’d they do? Roust ‘em at 4 a.m.?

    Hedley,

You do know that that photo was taken before people were let into the tent for the signing, right? And that she ended up selling all the books she had on hand, right?

Not to ruin your little wingnut pile-on of the Mother of a dead soldier moment, since I’m suuure you knew that already.

Bush is an moron and ANYONE that voted for him/defends him is a bigger MORON.

    Bush is an moron…

    Priceless.

Well, don’t let that stop you from poking fun at the Mother of a dead soldier. I’m willing to bet you’re derision is well earned, as I’m sure you’ve sacrificed MUCH more for Bush’s War in Iraq.

Kinda like that dude who spelled it “moran”.

  10. Gravatar Icon 10 Hedley

    mr.curmudgeon, or so she says.

Yes, let’s all bow before Cindy Sheehan and blame Israel for all of our problems.

“Well, don t let that stop you from poking fun at the Mother of a dead soldier.”

Yes, we shouldn’t dare hold her accountable for things she says.

Afterall, she’s THE MOTHER OF A DEAD SOLDIER!!!!

  14. Gravatar Icon 14 sooperedd

Kinda funny…morons pointing out others mistakes…funny how they never point out their heroes daily Bushisms.

  15. Gravatar Icon 15 SadieB

Okay, we’ll hold Cindy Sheehan accountable for things she says, but in exchange you right-wingers have to hold THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES accountable for things he says. And does.

    Any takers? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

    (crickets chirping ….)

  16. Gravatar Icon 16 Hedley

Of course he should be held accountable as should any elected official. I suspect he’ll be held accountable in 2006 and 2008. To what degree, remains to be seen.

  17. Gravatar Icon 17 SadieB

I said right-wingers. You’re right, the American people will certainly hold Bush accountable in 2006, and 2008. Also any Republican office-seeker dumb enough to get within ten feet of him. Don’t worry about that.

What I was referring to was this soft bigotry of low expectations that the Right seems to hold for George Bush. Nothing is ever his fault. He never makes mistakes. Everyone is always too hard on him.

When are you going to realize you aren’t doing yourselves (or him, for that matter) any favors by letting him slide all the time and making excuses for him? It’s sick is what it is. It’s dysfunctional.

You’ve really made me curious, Sadie. What in the h - e - double hockey sticks is the “soft bigotry of low expectations”?

  19. Gravatar Icon 19 Frank_D

I saw Nancy Pelosi on FOX this morning. Here’s her alternative plan for Victory in Iraq:

  20. Gravatar Icon 20 Rounds77

Frank, it’s impossible to have a plan for an impossible situation. Iraq is a catch 22; there’s no solution. Everyone knows it but no one seems to be admitting it. Anything we do (i.e. “cutting and running” or strethenging the Iraqi’s to take care of themselves) does not seem to hold anything close to a guarantee of success.

Apparently most Americas are waking up to this. Seeing Bush on TV talking about Iraq holds no substance any more, and Republicans are increasingly being viewed as incapable of governing as the controlling party.

To continuously see the vast majority of support for this idiot, Bush, coming only from the right is getting tiresome. Aren’t you starting to hear your voice echo in that vast, empty canyon you’re carping from?

Frank is curious, perhap, but also lazy.

He could have looked up the soft bigotry of low expectations via Google if he was really interested. But if you look up the words — perhaps you know what they mean already? — you can deduce that it means you don’t think much of a person, say some politico, and your expectations are accordingly lowered, no matter what they actually do.

Now, go back and polish up your Condi Rice fansite some more . . . .

    soft bigotry of low expectations

Thank you, paulbeard. It was really silly of me to expect that the person who wrote the words would explain them. I should have known to contact you, her advocate.

Interestingly, her use of the phrase was inappropriate. We on the right have extremely high expectations of our President (he’s your President, too, but you think he rigged a quarter of a million votes in Ohio, and, wrapped in the cloak of that fantasy, believe somehow that John Kerry is your President.) And you think that my idea that Condoleezza Rice might one day be President is a fantasy.
