   While I admire his ability to remain calm and almost sweat confidence in his position, his arguments of “opportunity” ring hollow to those that understand mobility and class-warfare

   I’ll never forget seeing Mfume and his son in a “Party City” (a holloween store at most) having a huge fit over not having a certain costume in stock.

   Yeah, I guess the people of Maryland would rather have someone like Mfume, a guy with more illegitimate kids than Shawn Kemp and someone that hates cops and thinks they should never, under any circumstances, be able to defend themselves.

    Easy grubi:

    1. Oliver can’t know what Rove thinks.

    2. It hasn’t been proved that the information was “leaked”, as opposed to being common knowledge among insiders and neighbors.

    3. It hasn’t been proved Rove leaked info harmful to our CIA agents.

    4. No motive of political gain has been established.

    So other than being wrong on all of those counts, I guess it wasn’t all that bad - which is why I used the moderate language “stretch”.

    1. What do you expect from a man (steele) and an organization RNC and the Maryland Repub party - who PAID steele to run for office… Steele’s a nice guy just sitting and talking, but in the political and social realms I have no respect for him.

    2. PSU… grow up, what does another politician with issues have to do with Steele? Fix your skirt, your klan robe is showing.

    3. Dugger… (for you I’ll add this) WHOMEVER leaked that information about plame also blew the entire cover story for the cover company, for all the other folks who work with the cover company, all foriegn nationals who were working for/with us. Come on, do you lack that much confidence in the innocence of rove that you have to leap to his defense? Good think Karl has such loyal friend to protect him. Let me guess… you probably think that Oliver North and company committed no crimes either right? Don’t worry Roberts will make sure that the Iran-Contra ploy gets used again, and these hacks will get pardoned

    Thanks newbie. Too bad no leak as such has been established. Much less a leak by Rove. But perhaps you either (a) read minds or (b) have a personal source from prosecutor Fitzgerald’s records.

    Oliver North? Oh you mean the real war hero, right?

    And yes I need to help defend Mr Rove. He pays me $10 a post (remember that song: $10 a post, thats what they pay me, gee how they weigh me down).

    Dugger - let me get this straight… you’re saying that Valerie Plame’s identity as a NOC was not revealed? That the company she worked for was not revealed to be a CIA front operation, and that consequently any foreign national who worked with Mrs. Wilson or the company is now in danger of being rightly or wrongly associated with spying for the US? You’re saying there was no leak? So all of this is for nothing right? The Justice department, etc. are merely wasting tax dollars… The Bush Admin is willingly allowing such as disgraceful waste of money and time (since there’s nothing there)? That every single one of the Judges consulted by Fitzgerald are wrong in their view(s) that there is something worthy of closer examination.

    And while your so kindly educating me, could you explain how lying to congress and the president, exchanging arms and trafficking cocaine make one a war hero? Thanx in advance - old timer

    Easy there rainlion. I notice the old passsive voice technique. Her name was obvioulsy AT SOME POINT mentioned by someone. I know of no one really challenging that. Now by a leak, I mean someone letting it out on purpose - for a purpose. How double-nought Val’s name FIRST got out there we don’t know: maybe Evil G. Rove, Perp Walk Wilson, their next door neighbor, Val herself or who knows. But maybe it was common knowledge in certain unclasiified circles by the time Novak’s column was about to hit. My own feeling is that it might be a better thing to wait for the prosecutor’s findings before punishing who we would LIKE to be guilty.

    dugger1 - thanx for the Sunday laugh… yes, perhaps we will see how the chips fall sometime this winter. That is if the Admin doesn’t devolve into a pack of jackals and turn on one another… as seems to be occuring.
