The billionaire co-founder of Black Entertainment Television apologized Monday for pretending to stutter at a campaign event as she mimicked the Democratic candidate for governor.

BET co-founder Sheila Johnson, for years a major donor to President Barack Obama, Gov. Timothy M. Kaine and other Democrats, stunned Virginia political observers in July by endorsing Republican Bob McDonnell in the governor’s race.

He is running against Democrat Creigh Deeds to replace Kaine, who is barred by state law from running for a second straight term.

He said government policy should favor married couples over “cohabitators, homosexuals or fornicators.” He described as “illogical” a 1972 Supreme Court decision legalizing the use of contraception by unmarried couples.

The 93-page document, which is publicly available at the Regent University library, culminates with a 15-point action plan that McDonnell said the Republican Party should follow to protect American families — a vision that he started to put into action soon after he was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates.

Look, I’m a Democrat who wants to see Democrats win, but as the Republicans of the last decade show us if you aren’t challenged you can turn rotten really quickly. I don’t want the Republicans to actually win anything for at least the remainder of my lifetime, but don’t go Washington Generals on us now.

Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine will become chairman of the Democratic National Committee later this month, serving as the top political messenger for Barack Obama’s administration even while he finishes his final year in the governor’s mansion, several sources said.

Since the chairman is usually an insider with the sitting president, this isn’t too surprising as Kaine was a very early Obama booster and because of Virginia’s weird system he can’t run for a second consecutive term as Governor this year.

Sen. Barack Obama saved his biggest Virginia rally for last — bringing out more than 85,000 people to the Prince William County Fairgrounds on the eve of Election Day.

The Democratic presidential nominee’s final major rally before voters head to the polls brought Obama back to where he kicked off his general election race five months ago — Northern Virginia.

“I know Virginia’s ready to bring about change in America,” Obama told a roaring crowd that waited hours under a “Vote for Change” sign for their candidate to appear. “It starts here Virginia,” he said.

Since this election season began, I’ve believed that Virginia will go Democratic. Thanks to us Marylanders moving in and a boom of younger professionals in Northern Virginia, the timing is just right. At the same time Mark Warner is on track to win the election by 20-30 percent (retiring Republican Sen. John Warner said he might vote for Warner!) and will produce an updraft at the top of the ticket for Sen. Obama.

In ‘humor’ he accuses Obama of wanting to paint the White House black, supporting reparations, changing the national anthem to the ‘black national anthem’, teaching ‘black liberation theology in all churches’, and replacing the flag with a ’star and crescent logo’.
