Tea Party = Racist Recruitment Rallies

Stormfront and other un-American hate groups see some nice prospects at the right-wing tea parties. The anti-immigrant rallies have also been busting at the seams with racists. That’s a clear path back for the right.

Conservative + South =

You bet, more racism about President Obama. This time from an aide to Tennessee State Sen. Diane Black. Republican of course.

This is not to be confused with the guy from a couple days ago who compared Michelle Obama to a gorilla. Or the conservative mayor who sent around a picture of the White House and watermelons. Or the guy who sold t-shirts comparing Barack Obama to a monkey.*

Those were all separate incidents, and if one were to point out that the right has apparently ramped up its reflexive racism in the wake of President Obama’s election… well that would just be mean.

* UPDATE: Also that guy who made a racist remark on Twitter. But not a part. No sireee. Not at all. Look over there, a pony. A BLACK pony.

Rusty DePass: South Carolina Republican Activist Compares Michelle Obama To Gorilla

This, by now, is standard operating procedure for the right in America. Which is the minstrel act of folks like Sonja Schmidt will always be just that.

So It’s Not Just Me

I also get creeped out when I’m driving on Jefferson Davis highway.

Pat Buchanan Fears Hispanics

It’s good when some things remain consistent, even in these times of change.

Tammy Bruce Calls Obama Family “Trash”

Because to some in wingnut nation, blacks will never be good enough. Thankfully, the American people have a whole other idea about that.

Sean Hannity’s Subconscious: OMG The President Is Black!

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that when speaking about Obama and the NCAA Tournament, what came out of Sean Hannity’s mouth was almost NAACP.

I can just imagine the epic struggle in old bullet-head’s noggin’ every night. Screaming there in the background is the refrain OMG HE’S BLACK OMG HE’S BLACK!

Racist Texas Shakedown

More southern awesome.

You can drive into this dusty fleck of a town near the Texas-Louisiana border if you’re African-American, but you might not be able to drive out of it—at least not with your car, your cash, your jewelry or other valuables.

That’s because the police here allegedly have found a way to strip motorists, many of them black, of their property without ever charging them with a crime. Instead they offer out-of-towners a grim choice: voluntarily sign over your belongings to the town, or face felony charges of money laundering or other serious crimes.

More than 140 people reluctantly accepted that deal from June 2006 to June 2008, according to court records. Among them were a black grandmother from Akron, who surrendered $4,000 in cash after Tenaha police pulled her over, and an interracial couple from Houston, who gave up more than $6,000 after police threatened to seize their children and put them into foster care, the court documents show. Neither the grandmother nor the couple were charged with any crime.

In the county where this is occuring, Shelby, the Republican vote actually increased in 2008 – from 67% for Bush to 72% for McCain. Interesting.

Watermelon Mayor Dean Grose Resigning

Dean Grose, the Republican mayor who sent around that picture of watermelon surrounding the White House has resigned in shame. Don’t let the door hit you.

Murdoch’s NY Post

Well, at least they come right out and compare the President to a monkey. Don’t hide the racism, wingers!

Ann Coulter Defends White Supremacists

Well, duh. She’s like the Fuhrer’s press secretary.

The Next Right = The Same Right

As Vice President-elect Joe Biden noted during the 2008 convention, the GOP continues to offer more of the same.

Chip Saltsman, a candidate for chairman of the Republican National Committee, sent committee members this month a holiday music CD that included “Barack the Magic Negro,” a parody song first aired in 2007 by talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

Until the Republican party kicks the racial habit, they’ll continue to be a minority monochromatic party from the south.

Palin Country!

palinSurprise.

Alaska officials are investigating racist jokes about President-elect Barack Obama that have been circulating on state government e-mail accounts.

One of the five e-mails obtained by The Associated Press asks about the outcome of the Democrat’s victory after all the time and money invested and concludes: ‘Another black family living in government housing!’

Why There Are So Few Minority Conservatives, Part 176

They say things like this and honestly can’t see what the problem is.

On his radio show, Mark Belling said: ‘Whether it’s blacks, Mexican-Americans, whatever, people who live in a neighborhood should not have to put up with newcomers deciding that that neighborhood is going to be ‘Crimeville.’ ‘ Belling continued: ‘You wonder why racism occurs. Why people fear ‘look what’s happening to the neighborhood’ when some — when a minority person moves in. The answer is because sometimes it does mean an increase in crime.’

Suing The Klan Into Oblivion

In the new America, racists are in retreat. For good.

No Sympathy For Ashley Todd

I’ve seen some folks on the left say that they hope to see Ashley Todd, the race-baiting fabulist volunteer for the McCain campaign, seek mental help. Excuse me? She knew what she was doing. She’s done what College Republicans have often done – like affirmative action bake sales – they provoke racial discord in order to further the Republican cause.

Its no coincidence that this knuckle dragging moron went into the same well as baby killer Susan Smith by claiming that a black man was the provocateur.

She knew just what she was doing and a large part of the conservative movement was more than willing to shovel her excrement for her.

UPDATE: Hyping this story was a Republican operation from the start.

John McCain’s Pennsylvania communications director told reporters in the state an incendiary version of the hoax story about the attack on a McCain volunteer well before the facts of the case were known or established — and even told reporters outright that the “B” carved into the victim’s cheek stood for “Barack,” according to multiple sources familiar with the discussions.

John Verrilli, the news director for KDKA in Pittsburgh, told TPM Election Central that McCain’s Pennsylvania campaign communications director gave one of his reporters a detailed version of the attack that included a claim that the alleged attacker said, “You’re with the McCain campaign? I’m going to teach you a lesson.”

Verrilli also told TPM that the McCain spokesperson had claimed that the “B” stood for Barack. According to Verrilli, the spokesperson also told KDKA that Sarah Palin had called the victim of the alleged attack, who has since admitted the story was a hoax.

The KDKA reporter had called McCain’s campaign office for details after seeing the story — sans details — teased on Drudge.

GOP Bigot Eruption: Marcia Stirman

They strike again

The head of a New Mexico Republican women’s group is being pressured to resign after calling Barack Obama a “Muslim socialist” and claiming that “Muslims are our enemies.”

Marcia Stirman is the head of the Republican Women of Otero County.

She included her criticism of Obama in a letter published Tuesday in the Alamogordo Daily News. In a separate interview with The Associated Press, Stirman said she didn’t trust Muslims because “they are our enemies.” She added, “Why we’re trying to elect one is beyond me.”

Just tell us how you really feel.

McCain Supporters Heckle Early Voters In North Carolina

The Republican party fully supports the Bull Connor/George Wallace agenda.

McCain supporters heckle early voters

Photographer Joe Eddins and I headed over to the closest one and found a steady line of voters hoping to cast ballots early. Most seemed to be Obama supporters and several had come from the rally. Nearly all the voters were black.

Also at the polling site was a group of loud and angry protesters who shouted and mocked the voters as they walked in. Nearly all were white.

As you can see from these videos, no one held anything back. People were shouting about Obama’s acknowledged cocaine use as a young man, abortion and one man used the word “terrorist.” They also were complaining that Sundays are for church, not voting.

Blah, blah, isolated incident, blah, blah not representative of all McCain supporters. The mantra we’ve heard for the last few months, and the same mantra we’ll hear for the next 14 days and possibly the next 4-8 years. They’re always shocked that gambling is going on around here.

And I’ll say kudos to the conservative Washington Times for documenting this story.

Limbaugh HOWLS About Powell Endorsement Only Being About Race

It’s good for a wider audience to see the sort of bile Limbaugh produces on a daily basis.
