America Changing On Taxes

Here’s more evidence that the GOP tax message may have run its course.
A new Gallup Poll finds 48% of Americans saying the amount of federal income taxes they pay is “about right,” with 46% saying “too high” — one of the most positive assessments Gallup has measured since 1956. Typically, a majority of Americans say [...]

Zogby Poll Rears Its Head Again, Right Wingers Swoon

As we saw during the 2008 election, John Zogby’s polls are ridiculous. They’re ridiculous when they’ve shown Democrats in the lead, and ridiculous when they’ve shown Republicans in the lead. A Zogby poll is like Jim Cramer telling you to buy Bear Stearns but even less accurate. So its no wonder conservative blogs like Powerline [...]

Tightening!

In Gallup’s old likely voter model – the most McCain friendly projection – Obama has moved his lead back up to 5%.
One thing I’ve noticed is that in many swing states – Colorado, Virginia, and in some polls Nevada – Obama is over 50%. Back in 2004, that was not the case with Sen. Kerry. [...]

Take This To The Bank

I don’t like making predictions, but I think this is one worth making. Sen. Obama will win Pennsylvania. The right wing blogs are constantly atwitter about secret McCain polls showing the race there as “close” but for whatever faults state polls might have, not a single one in Pennsylvania has shown a McCain lead there [...]

44% Evangelical?

Unless you believe that suddenly this country has a 44% evangelical population, you can probably drop the AP/GfK poll in the same circular file as Zogby’s polls.
The conspiracy theories about polling are getting wackier by the moment. You’ve got whole swaths of conservatives that now seriously believe that the media is working in concert with [...]

The Right Is Brilliant. Brilliantly Stupid.

All the polls are wrong. Why? The pollsters are headquartered in blue states.
If/when Obama wins the alternate reality these guys are going to create is going to be awesome.
ALSO: What diabolical game was being played by the blue-state pollsters in 2004 when they showed Bush in the lead?

Bush Led Kerry At This Point In 2004

I don’t know why people writing about the election – especially conservatives – keep getting this wrong. Today it is Edward Luce writing in the Financial Times.
The RealClear Politics website’s average of polls, which gives Mr Obama a lead of 6.8 per cent over Mr McCain, offers a better guide to the situation. It compares [...]
