While this is a perfectly rational cover for a powerful CEO on the cover of Fortune, in these times where the rest of us are feeling pissed on by the elite business class – especially in California – I wonder if Ms. Whitman is exercising the same kind of brilliant judgement that she showed at eBay? That is, when they wasted $3 billion Skype?

Perhaps it isn’t a good idea to leave fundamental human rights up to a contest in which the biggest megaphone often determines the winner. As far as Prop 8 itself, I don’t know how making a second class of citizenry stands up in the Supreme Court, so we’ll see.

But again, THE CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION SYSTEM IS DUMB. KILL IT.

Prop. 8 is just the latest stupid proposition up for a vote in California. It is by far the worst system in the country for deciding on important issues. I don’t understand why people in California put up with the proposition system, where the state legislature abdicates its responsibility and millions of dollars on both sides of an issue flood the state. It is ridiculous.
