See, Al Gore didn’t invent the Internet and he is NOT responsible for any of the technology that is connected with it. Not a single line of code did he write, not one piece of hardware was created by the former VP and current global warming snake oil salesman.

Neither Gore nor Pelosi have ever claimed Gore spent late nights pounding out code, but Al Gore was instrumental to the network that evolved into today’s Internet.

Tech pioneer Vint Cerf (bio), regarded by many as the “father of the Internet”:

There are many factors that have contributed to the Internet’s rapid growth since the later 1980s, not the least of which has been political support for its privatization and continued support for research in advanced networking technology. No one in public life has been more intellectually engaged in helping to create the climate for a thriving Internet than the Vice President. Gore has been a clear champion of this effort, both in the councils of government and with the public at large.

The Vice President deserves credit for his early recognition of the value of high speed computing and communication and for his long-term and consistent articulation of the potential value of the Internet to American citizens and industry and, indeed, to the rest of the world.

Perhaps most comically, Gore is seen dragging an entire film crew on a jet to India to give a climate presentation to about 100 people. Gore claimed: “We just don’t have any choice. I wish I knew a better way to do it. I constantly ask myself, ‘How can I be more effective in getting this message across?’ ” The most effective thing you can think of is flying halfway across the world to speak with 100 people?

Except Beck twisted the story. From 60 Minutes:

For now he takes his slideshow on the road. 60 Minutes went with Gore to India.

“It’s going to be so hard, so gigantically difficult to solve this problem. And expensive, no?” Stahl asked.

“It’s much more expensive not to solve it,” Gore said.

India is the world’s fourth biggest emitter of greenhouse gases, and in New Delhi Gore was teaching 100 people how to give his slideshow and spread the word.

“You’re giving talks to a hundred people. There are over a billion people in India. I mean, how do you expect to really have any kind of impact?” Stahl asked.

“This is the beginning. And then they will train others. And I will be training others,” Gore said.

The White House today announced that President Bush will host former Vice President Al Gore in the Oval Office on Nov. 26. Should be an interesting reunion of a couple of buddies from the 2000 presidential campaign and its historic aftermath.

It won’t be a one-on-one. Gore got the invitation because Bush is hosting this year’s U.S. winners of Nobel Prizes. Gore got the Nobel Peace Prize for his work on global warming. Several other 2007 Nobel winners also will be on hand.

The more things change, the more they change the same. Proving that conservatives are almost always on the wrong side of history. In 1965 they attacked Dr. King and civil disobedience against racist laws that were the rule of the land, laws that were morally wrong and fundamentally un-American. Is it any wonder that the same publication arguing so strongly against the man who was one of America’s greatest leaders now attacks Al Gore? If the National Review had had its way, I would at best be writing this on the "blacks only" section of the Internet.

Former Vice President Al Gore and the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize Friday for their efforts to spread awareness of man-made climate change and lay the foundations for counteracting it.

Gore’s film “An Inconvenient Truth,” a documentary on global warming, won an Academy Award this year and he had been widely expected to win the prize.

“His strong commitment, reflected in political activity, lectures, films and books, has strengthened the struggle against climate change,” the citation said. “He is probably the single individual who has done most to create greater worldwide understanding of the measures that need to be adopted.”

It cited Gore’s awareness at an early stage “of the climatic challenges the world is facing.

The committee cited the Panel on Climate Change for two decades of scientific reports that have “created an ever-broader informed consensus about the connection between human activities and global warming.”

Members of the panel, a network of 2,000 scientists, were surprised that it was chosen to share the honor with Gore, a spokeswoman said.

“We would have been happy even if he had received it alone because it is a recognition of the importance of this issue,” spokeswoman Carola Traverso Saibante said.

An Inconvenient Truth:

Our home — Earth — is in danger. What is at risk of being destroyed is not the planet itself, but the conditions that have made it hospitable for human beings.

Without realizing the consequences of our actions, we have begun to put so much carbon dioxide into the thin shell of air surrounding our world that we have literally changed the heat balance between Earth and the Sun. If we don’t stop doing this pretty quickly, the average temperature will increase to levels humans have never known and put an end to the favorable climate balance on which our civilization depends.

In the last 150 years, in an accelerating frenzy, we have been removing increasing quantities of carbon from the ground — mainly in the form of coal and oil — and burning it in ways that dump 70 million tons of CO2 every 24 hours into the Earth’s atmosphere.

The concentrations of CO2 — having never risen above 300 parts per million for at least a million years — have been driven from 280 parts per million at the beginning of the coal boom to 383 parts per million this year.

As a direct result, many scientists are now warning that we are moving closer to several “tipping points” that could — within 10 years — make it impossible for us to avoid irretrievable damage to the planet’s habitability for human civilization.

Here’s hoping that the science-based warnings of "Gore-El" are not ignored like those of Jor-El, who was also disastrously right about a planetary emergency.

Friends of Al Gore have secretly started assembling a campaign team in preparation for the former American vice-president to make a fresh bid for the White House.

Two members of Mr Gore’s staff from his unsuccessful attempt in 2000 say they have been approached to see if they would be available to work with him again.

I was quite proud of Al Gore today for refusing to bend to the global warming deniers by giving their unscientific arguments any quarter.

”The planet has a fever,” Gore said. ”If your baby has a fever, you go to the doctor. If the doctor says you need to intervene here, you don’t say, ’Well, I read a science fiction novel that told me it’s not a problem.’ If the crib’s on fire, you don’t speculate that the baby is flame retardant. You take action.”

This is how we have to start dealing with this stuff folks, global warming, evolution, etc. Quit being like propaganda networks like Fox and simply throw out unscientific garbage.
