HOW ABOUT THEM REDSKINS?

| | Comments (10)

Redskins: 27
Cowboys: 6

Four straight wins, a resounding victory over the Cowboys and the Playoffs?

Priceless!

Dallas Cowboys had one rushing yard. One.

Redskins Playoff Appearances since Gibbs' return (2004-present): 2

Coincidence? Nay. Joe Gibbs.

Return of the East: 3 of the 4 teams in the NFC East are in the playoffs (Skins, Girls, and Giants)

Congrats to the Redskins, they kicked the Pokes' behinds, and good. Nice win for the end of the season.

Don't count the Pokes out in the Playoffs though. Romo will have some time off to recover.

Good for the Redskins. They barely got in to the playoffs with a Hall of Fame coach who the game has passed by while Norv went 11-5 and comfortably won his division. Now Dallas gets to go home and go to full strength while the skins hit the road. Nice win, but you didn't win anything yet.

Yes, the game has passed Joe Gibbs by, that's clearly why he got in to the playoffs 2/3 years where Norval got in 2/14 or so and with 3 Superbowl rings versus 0. If the Dallas who showed up this week and last week shows up for the playoffs they'll be in and out real quick. Dallas ain't won nothing in the playoffs either.

Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Victory!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for old D.C.!
Run or pass and score -- we want a lot more!
Beat 'em, Swamp 'em,
Touchdown! -- Let the points soar!
Fight on, fight on 'Til you have won
Sons of Wash-ing-ton. Rah!, Rah!, Rah!

Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Victory!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for old D.C.!

FWIW, if you find this song offensive, you should see the original lyrics.

When I lived in DC in the early '80s, I heard Russel Means (American Indian Movement) interviewed on one of the local talk shows. He said he was flattered that the nation's capital would want to honor Native Americans, and thought the team logo was dignified. On the other hand, he wasn't too crazy about Chief Wahoo and Chief Noc-a-Homa. Don't know what he thought about the song.
