Gentility, Sir!

| | Comments (6)

victorianwoman.jpgI always look at posts like this angrily denouncing the potty-mouth voices of the left and the nimrods who highlight them and wonder - what planet are these people on? Somehow when discussing one of the worst administrations in U.S. history and the ongoing deaths of our fellow Americans and others around the world, we've somehow violated the seventh seal because someone uses a curse word?

"Sir, I must respond to your strategy of sending thousands of good people to die for no reason in a foreign country with this STERN protest"

"The doublespeak this administration exercises in legitimizing human torture leaves me very... perturbed."

"I do vigorously protest your spying on American citizens without warrant or cause. Sir."

"I almost fainted when told that the president had vetoed a bill providing health care to poor children."

"My response to the mainstreaming of government paid propaganda: FIDDLESTICKS!"

Honestly. Fuck that.

Which VP told a guy to go fuck himself?
Which Pres was recorded calling a guy an asshole?
Seriously, fornicate this excreta!

But bryan, it's perfectly OK to use profanities *if* you're a Republican. Everyone else is a godless anti-American terrorist heathen if they dare mouth such words!

They can't argue substance, so they argue style. It's a common fallacy.

"We will fuck him like he's never been fucked before" - Rove

Besides the obvious hypocrisy of Mr. "We will fuck him like he's never been fucked before" Rove lecturing anybody on manners, we should recognize that in an unintentional way Rove is doing us a favor: reminding the great mass of middle America that activists of the left blogosphere talk LIKE THEM. Do you think Joe Sixpack goes into a bar wondering why his son is on his 3rd extended tour in Iraq while he can't afford to take his wife to the doctor, and talks about the relative merits of Ludwig von Mises over John Maynard Keynes? No! As Ollie suggest, he tosses one back and says "Fuck George W Bush and his whole fucking family!"

The more we remind middle America that The People In Charge are NOT LIKE THEM, the better we will be in 2008 and beyond.
