Pennsylvania GOP Screwing The Unemployed, Claim It’s “Fairness”
One of the problems with conservatism is that it believes in its heart that every unfortunate person is really just a huckster getting away with a scam.

A Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives says he wants to reform the state’s unemployment insurance system in part because the way benefits are currently calculated lets workers take a paid vacation for most of the year.‘This is a fairness thing,’ Rep. Scott Perry said in an interview with The Huffington Post. ‘What we’re trying to accomplish here is to make sure the system is solvent for people who are truly needy.’”
What’s amazing is that Republicans can cut benefits for unemployed middle and lower class people without batting an eyelash, but when you even slightly hint that corporate robber barons should pay for their crimes against people and nature, the crocodile tears come out.

Well, Oliver, you must have only read the first two paragraphs, because the guy specifically states, and I quote “there are some people”. Nowhere does he say that everyone one on the dole is a “huckster”, as you claim.
You really should just put the hate away for a while. His offer is quite reasonable, despite what the biased employee from the non-profit says. It is exactly how many other states run their unemployment insurance systems and as of yet, I have not heard of people in those states starving to death because of it.
Or would you rather those who do have jobs be made to pay more of their regular income to cover the increased UI costs?
The money has to come from somewhere. PA has borrowed $3.8 Billion to cover their UI program. Apparently they are giving out too much or taking in too little.
And as for your Deep Water Horizon link, I do believe it was the office of the Democrat President whom you support here on a daily basis who manipulated the media and has yet to exercise his executive powers to make BP do much of anything. But then again, that is why you can link to R’s: Because he sits back and pretends the problem isn’t there while they wander about making stupid statements.

HEY YOU! I’m talking to the idiot that has no understanding skills! The words “there are some people” are translated from simple republican-speak to the reality world as “poor & the coloreds”. Now do you understand? Well?
yeah, I thought not…

As far as republicans are concerned, ALL unemployed people are lazy bastards. Republicans know that getting a job is super simple. All they have to do is ask daddy, so anyone without a job is a freeloading lazy bastard.
