Republican Jim Renacci Adopts KKK Approach To Civil Rights
Tweet
During an impromptu debate with Rep John Boccieri in Ohio, his Republican challenger Jim Renacci made very clear that he thought the federal government should stay out of the way when it came to enforcing civil rights issues. Of course, to anyone who didn’t sleep through history class, it was the racists in America who made the states rights arguments against the imposition of federal civil rights law.
It was the federal government who had to enforce civil rights law in the south, because if left to the locals, blacks would still be strung up and killed for sport without rights.
That’s the sort of world Jim Renacci is excusing. No thanks.

“I believe the federal government’s number one goal is to protect our freedoms.”
“It’s not the federal government’s job.”
Man, how tired is this? Does the south not know that when they say ‘states’ rights’ in reference to civil rights issues, we all know that they really mean they hate people of color? Like, it wasn’t states’ rights in 1859, it wasn’t states’ rights in 1962, and it’s not states’ rights now. I know you say it is, but you’re lying.
It’s all about ‘freedom’, right up until that includes the freedom to go to the University of Alabama. Then it’s ‘states’ rights’.
Another white makes right Republican
Hnice,
Agreed. But this guy’s from Ohio.
Hick, sorry. From Maine, everyplace looks like the south.

Yeesh.
Moran.
That’s OK, Hnice. My 4th grade Geography project was on Maine. Seems like a nice place.
Wow, Oliver. Is this really all you got these days. I miss being around for a good laugh.
Seriously- what do you think the chances are that you or I will have to ever HAVE to sit at the back of the bus or be denied to a school of our choice because of skin tone or anything else you’re implying here.
Is that really what you think Renacci was trying to convey? Do you really think he’s part of some KKK plot to bring back white supremacy, or are you just being your old demagogue self. Granted- if it was, he deserves to lose, but I have a hunch it is something much different, seeing as most states governments/courts enforce most civil rights cases now- including in the south.
I know the desperation you must feel with the coming political tsunami, and going back to your bomb throwing playbook is about all you have left, but jeesz!
Besides- who didn’t sleep through history class, it was the racists DEMOCRATS in America who made the states rights arguments against the imposition of federal civil rights law.
Oops- that should be “anyone who didn’t sleep…”
Shorter Marty: I can sit anywhere on the bus I want, so there is no racism.
Whew…for a minute there I thought you wouldn’t be able to throw the race card around. Silly me…you can ALWAYS throw it around.
Marty,
You should go back to your high school and punch your American History teacher in the mouth for giving you a passing grade. He or she let you down badly.
I’m old enough to remember this stuff without having to read about it. The Democrats who opposed civil rights in the sixties changed parties and are the GOP and teabaggers of today. Read up on Nixon’s “Southern Strategy.”
Marty, huh? Looks like FDS has invited his latest little bitch to back him up…
Marty! Hells yeah! Who the fuck is this guy? He sounds retarded, and Ferris and Dennis know how to spell, but I like his moxie. Is he new?
Welcome, buddy! I’m with you: racism is lame and also doesn’t exist. BOOOOOYA!!!
Wow, Marty really is a dumbass. Repack +1. When the Confederate states elected to return to the Union against which they had waged war, they submitted to federal jurisdiction and to the post-War amendments empowering Congress to enforce the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments, all of which empower Congress to act to eliminate the badges and incidents of slavery, including sundown towns, Jim Crow, poll taxes, grandfather clauses and the whole mess. If Renacci doesn’t like it – if he’s from the part of Ohio that wishes that barbed wire had been invented early enough to keep escaping slaves from crossing the “Jordan” River, then let him be blunt and honest and call for Ohio to secede.
Civil rights enforcement is just as much a federal duty as administering patents and negotiating treaties with foreign governments; if you don’t like it, call Canada and see if they have a vacancy or if Ontario wants a merger.

Wha? hnice, do you think you a seasoned veteran here or something? Unless you’re Indeed and you’ve gone and changed your name surreptitiously again, you’re the new kid on the block, dude. And still wet behind the ears.
And Denise the Douche is wet between the legs. CONSTANTLY.
Marty: Seriously- what do you think the chances are that you or I will have to ever HAVE to sit at the back of the bus or be denied to a school of our choice because of skin tone or anything else you’re implying here.
What were the chances prominent members of the community with generations of citizenship in their families would be rounded up and sent to camps?
And Denise the Douche is wet between the legs. CONSTANTLY.
No idea what that’s supposed to mean.

I think it’s something much different, too. I think it’s a demonstration of a complete lack of ability to think.
Dennis keeps forgetting this isn’t his blog. How precious.
Sean, it means he constantly pisses his pants out of fear and immaturity.
What an excellent example of maturity you provided for all the liberals here, Downtown.
Well done.
Please don’t feed the troll.
This is the dumbest blog post I’ve ever read.
