I was under the impression that it was caused by the Republicans absurd spending on two wars of aggression in the name of “terrorism”, unregulated “free trade” (thank you Ronald Reagan!) causing businesses to slag off, send all the jobs overseas, line their own pockets and kill off the middle class of this country. The Republicans had no problem letting the corporations run this country unchecked during the eight years they were in power.
