The filibuster is an inherently conservative tool. I'm sure there were a few Bush schemes the Dems foiled with filibusters. I can't think of any offhand, but I'm sure they exist. But imagine where we'd be right now if the Republicans couldn't filibuster. ...who am I kidding. Another 8 Democrats would just decide they love attention as much as Liberman and Nelson and play swing vote.
