E-Books Outselling Hardcovers On Amazon

Another important milestone in the transition to digital. I don’t have an iPad or Kindle yet, but I will certainly be buying one. For an e-reader, while I think the iPad of course does things like comics better, the weight seems to be a negative compared to Kindle.

Dude, run, don’t walk, to Bed Bath and Beyond (or Kohls has some too) and pick up the Pandigital Novel. $149 once you mail in the $20 rebate. It comes with the Barnes & Nobel book store app but is not only cheaper than the B&N Nook, it is a hacker’s dream.
The thing runs on the Google Android platform, which (once a new home app is hacked into it) lets you run all the cool apps Google has out there for smart phones and much more expensive tablets.
For a lousy hundred-fifty bucks you got a poor-man’s iPad.
You can find the instructions for hacking it and links to a ton of apps here http://is.gd/dyLG5
If you’re not up for hacking, I would recommend the B&N Nook. Much cooler than the Kindle, and cheaper too since they lowered the price of the cheapest version (wi-fi only) to $149. 3G version is $199. Real nice appliance, purpose built for reading, does what it does really well and is more elegant than the Kindle for less money.
