Bartle Bull: Another Right-Wing Cog In Fox’s Made Up New Black Panther Story

12:55 pm EST July 8th, 2010 | Media | 24 Comments

bartle bullFox usually gets things wrong in service of their bosses at the GOP, but in the case of the Department of Justice and the New Black Panther story, they are working overtime to try and make a racial controversy around the Obama administration where there is none. It’s almost as if they’re invested in demonizing the president as some sort of scary black nationalist. You don’t say?

Like any good Fox-generated controversy, Bull brought something else to the table–a way to tie this incident to ACORN. That’s right. He claimed that the New Black Panther Party members “were largely there to intimidate the poll watchers. The critical thing here was that the previous week, on October 27, the New York Times reported that ACORN had registered over 400,000 illegal fraudulent voters. So what these guys were doing was they were protecting the illegal ACORN voters by intimidating the poll watchers.” (Note: the Times did indeed report that 400,000 of ACORN’s voter registrations had been thrown out for various reasons, but that ACORN estimated only 1 to 1.5 percent of them were fraudulent registrations. The Times did not in anyway report that those 400,000 rejected registrations translated into attempts by some to vote illegally.) Fox & Friends ate this claim right up.

No doubt, Fox’s largely conservative and low-information viewers ate up the claims as well.

    Fox is Stormfront TV

  2. Bitter Scribe says:

What the Fox people either cannot or don’t want to understand is that accepting a fraudulent form is miles away from registering a fraudulent voter. Anyone who passes out reg forms, whether it’s ACORN or the I Hate Obama Party, has to accept all forms submitted. If you or I or Frank or anyone were to fill out such a form and claim that our name is Snoopy and our address is Charlie Brown’s doghouse, the person who handed us the form would have to take it back and send it in. It would be rejected, of course, but that’s a judgment that by law has to be made by the county clerk or registrar, not the form distributor.

  3. Todd Dugdale says:

Not a single person to date has come forward and claimed that they were intimidated by the two individuals in the NBPP. This is a crucial point. No one has stepped forward to become the latest darling of the Right by telling a tearful tale of fear and violated rights.

  4. Marco says:

White Fox News viewers were intimidated. That’s all that matters.

  5. Randy Brown says:

White Fox News viewers were intimidated. That’s all that matters.

Excessive meth use tends to do that to people.

  6. LOL! says:

    One question….

Aside from all the bs about who is credible, or what is made up, we all saw the video. What I want to know is WHY Holder didn’t bother following up with this? It looks terrible. Surely, you all can’t think this nut standing in front of a polling place with a night stick spouting racial slurs at people is acceptable.

That is all I want to know.

  7. Randy Brown says:

LOL, when will Holder follow up on the KNOWN WHITE SUPREMACISTS who are gearing up in AZ to “protect” the border?

The nut in PA was out of line. The local cops dealt with his ass. End of story.

  8. Vieux Charles says:

Bartle Bull is a lifetime Democrat (worked with Carter, Robert Kennedy, Ted Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) witnessed the incident.

And yup, Mr. Todd Dugdale he has come forward, he claims that the NBPP stated, “Now you will see what it means to be ruled by the black man, cracker.”

    J. Christian Adams, lawyer at the Justice department, resigned his position after the civil rights divisions stated that they will not prosecute cases where a black is the defendent and a white is the alleged victim.

The implications of this story are absolutely chilling.

  9. Bull is such a lifetime Democrat he was a poll watcher for McCain in 2008 and is pushing for Giuliani to by NY Gov now. Adams claims he heard someone he won’t identify say this was DOJ policy. His testimony is all hearsay. The implications of people believing his b.s. testimony is chilling.

  10. Zython says:

Aside from all the bs about who is credible, or what is made up, we all saw the video.

Again, you guys said the exact same thing about the ACORN tapes.

  11. Dennis says:

And where is ACORN now, Zython?

  12. Marco says:

ACORN is defunct because of your right wing bullshit and scandal manufacturing in the right’s never ending quest to keep their white base happy.

  13. Dennis says:

Democrats in the House and the Senate voted to defund them, Marco.

    Democrats.

People who worked there blew the whistle on them, too.

Is it your hypothesis that those Democrats and those former workers, African-Americans at that, were aiding and abetting racism?

  14. Marco says:

Why don’t you tell it to Big Government and ask Andy to make up so more shocking videos. Maybe he’ll care. I don’t. The right’s ACORN whine started right before your election loss and you left no stone unturned to frighten your moron tea bag base. Now you guys get the chance to do the same with the New Black Panthers assault on your freedom or whatever you ass clowns are claiming today.

You know it. I know it. Just admit it for once.

  15. Dennis says:

Marco, try giving an objective opinion for once. Why do you suppose those Democrats overwhelmingly voted to defund ACORN and why do you think former African-American employees of ACORN blew the whistle on their corruption?

  16. Marco says:

I gave you my objective opinion. Now run off to scare your fellow white people. I am sure Fox is running a special right now on the Panther/ACORN connection.

  17. Dennis says:

That wasn’t anywhere close to being an objective opinion, Marco. You invoked Fox, you invoked racism, and you invoke
‘tea baggers’, all just to get it out of your system, and you didn’t go near answering why it was Democrats voted to defund them and African Americans who worked there blew the whistle on them.

  18. Dennis says:

Is a Hitler reference coming next in your objective analysis?

  19. Marco says:

Dennis, I will leave Hitler references to you tea baggers. Go find another organization that helps minorities and get it shut down. I don’t give a fuck who defunded it. Its problems were grossly misrepresented by your media ass clowns. You’ll never admit it because all your side does is muddy the waters in the hopes no one will see through your bullshit. Sometimes it works, but there are always those who see through your crap.

Now, again, go make your base fear black people some more. It’s about the only thing you guys got going.

  20. The Dark Avenger says:

Perhaps Democrats were idiots like their fellow republicans not to wait for the truth of the videotapes to come out:

Videotapes secretly recorded last summer and severely edited by O’Keefe seemed to show ACORN employees encouraging a “pimp” (O’Keefe) and his “prostitute,” actually a Florida college student named Hannah Miles, in conversations involving prostitution by underage girls, human trafficking and cheating on taxes. Those videos created a media sensation.

Evidence obtained by Brown tells a somewhat different story, however, as reflected in three videotapes made at ACORN locations in California. One ACORN worker in San Diego called the cops. Another ACORN worker in San Bernardino caught on to the scheme and played along with it, claiming among other things that she had murdered her abusive husband. Her two former husbands are alive and well, the Attorney General’s report noted. At the beginning and end of the Internet videos, O’Keefe was dressed as a 1970s Superfly pimp, but in his actual taped sessions with ACORN workers, he was dressed in a shirt and tie, presented himself as a law student, and said he planned to use the prostitution proceeds to run for Congress. He never claimed he was a pimp.

  21. Marco says:

They were. The minute the right wing smells scandal, you can count on smelling some strong bullshit.

Like ACORN, like Black Panther Gate. Whatever the fuck they’ll push next week.

  22. Zython says:

Shorter Dennis: It doesn’t matter that we wrongfully smeared an organization that helps minorities, it’s a small price to pay to piss off liberals.

  23. Marco says:

Then they wonder why minorities aren’t interested in voting for them – and blame the Democratic party, of course.

    Ass cramps. All of them.

  24. john says:

Bartle Bull is a big time liberal democrat and 40 year civil rights attorney who was a campaign manager for Bobby Kennedy when he was shot in 1968. He’s a perfect witness with no ax to grind; and then, there’s also the indisputable video for everyone to see — Obama is so busted supporting black supremacy theology.

The NBPP is just trash, and got caught. Bull was an official poll watcher, and they threatened him. Stupid and arrogant.

NBPP Shabazz got a degree from Howard Univ. but he is a total racist idiot. Howard University was built in 1868 by white Republicans for blacks. Before that, they died by the hundreds of thousands to free the black slaves.

The Republican party was created in 1854 just so they could free the black slaves from the democrats who wanted to expand slavery. 1/3 of the people lynched during Jim Crow were actually white Republicans fighting for the civil rights of blacks. Shabazz is playing for the democratic slave owner team just because a black man is in charge of the welfare plantation now. That is sad.

Louis Farrakhan had Malcolm X killed because Elijah M. was caught disgracing the religion, and because he didn’t want to kill white people. The DC sniper was a former bodyguard of Louis Farrakhan and wanted to kill 6 white people a day. The Zebra killers in SF in the 1970′s were NOI Black Angels convicted of random killings of whites to get their “wings”, and were also extreme followers of Farrakhan, like the DC sniper.

Shabazz and the NBPP are on the path to no good. The old black panther party does not even want to associate with the “new” party. They are poison. Stay away.
