Yahoo! CEO Giving Google Advice Is Like Yahoo CEO Giving Google Advice

I don’t subscribe to the school of thought that Google can do no wrong (Google Buzz, for example, was a failure from day one). History clearly says otherwise, but as part of his anti-Google agenda (because Google gives a lot to Democrats), Matt Drudge is highlighting this interview with Yahoo! CEO Carol Bartz.

“Google is going to have a problem because Google is only known for search,” said Ms Bartz.

“It is only half our business; it’s 99.9% of their business. They’ve got to find other things to do.

“Google has to grow a company the size of Yahoo every year to be interesting.”

The problem is, Yahoo! is in no place to tell anyone how to do business. The whole reason that Bartz has her job in the first place is because Yahoo! managed to piss away billions of dollars, not to mention that they went from being the search market leader to an also-ran that outsources search to Microsoft. Bartz – who has a potty mouth – would have best told the reporter that Google’s doing their thing, and Yahoo! is doing theirs. They have no room to backseat drive when they aren’t even in the same sort of car Google is driving.

It’s like John McCain trying to tell Barack Obama what to do.

Oh, wait.

Funny, I thought Google’s main business was advertisement. The search part of the company is just a means to get it.

I cannot knock her for having a potty mouth.
