Well Known Republicans Lose To Obama In 2012 Matchups

3:59 am EST April 14th, 2010 | Republicans | 92 Comments

It’s way too early for 2012 polls. But still

The poll shows Obama topping Romney 53 percent to 45 percent, beating Huckabee 54 percent to 45 percent, defeating Gingrich 55 percent to 43 percent and topping Palin 55 percent to 42.

‘It is important to remember that at this stage of the game, candidate matchups are largely driven by name recognition, and at least a quarter of all Americans are unfamiliar with Romney, Huckabee and Gingrich. As a result, Obama has an 8- to-12-point edge over each of them in hypothetical matchups,’ adds Holland. ‘But in a previous CNN poll, Obama managed no better than a tie against an unnamed Republican.’

But there is something more than name recognition at work in Obama’s big lead over Palin.

‘Palin is almost as well known as Obama, but the general public appears to have some doubts about what they have seen of her so far,’ says Holland.”

People like Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich are damaged goods. Newt is remembered for shutting down the government, while Palin is seen nationwide as the punchline to a joke. Sarah Palin has a similar problem to Dan Quayle and Al Gore: her first impression has stuck with people. Unlike Gore, Palin doesn’t have the intellectual heft to do anything to push back against that view of her. In fact, almost every time she opens her mouth she makes it worse.

I don’t think she’s going to be a candidate, every day the likelihood increases that she’s in it to take all the right-wing sucker money out there, but if by some stretch of common sense the GOP goes that way, the years 1964 and 1980 come to mind.

  1. Jaim says:

I don’t think the GOP money guys will support Palin (they’ll grudgingly put Mitt up for the official nomination, and all the Obama campaign needs to do is show the video of him claiming he’s pro-choice, talk about his health-care bill, etc., and then crush him like a bug) but I do think she might try a third-party movement.

Which is awesome, because it’s the only thing that could make Mitt lose even worse.

I will laugh at, cheer, and mock the ensuing Republican carnage.

It’s pretty tough to knock out an incumbent president at any time, historically. Clinton managed to do it to Bush I, and the GOP has nobody even in the same ballpark when it comes to charisma and political instincts.

I do worry about this November’s Congressional election, however. Then again, so far the Tea Baggers have done more to hurt/threaten incumbent GOP types than they have to actually beat Dems. They’re going to primary a lot of Republicans who thought they had safe nominations in the bag, thus taking away their funding for the actual elections. Good times.

  2. Repack Rider says:

If you added together the IQs of the two smartest Republicans (an oxymoron) they would still fall short of Obama’s.

  3. anotherbozo says:

Good point! Wonder who’s going to write the book? “The Flight of Intellect: How Moronic Wingnuts Drove Intelligence from the Republican Party.” But this would have to be a multi-volume work, beginning decades ago…

  4. anotherbozo says:

Forget Palin. Even if she were electable, she’d never go for the pay cut that the Presidency means.

  5. SaveFarris says:

Then again, so far the Tea Baggers have done more to hurt/threaten incumbent GOP types than they have to actually beat Dems.

    Virginia
    New Jersey
    Massachusetts

    You were saying?

  6. ..that you missed NY-23 for some reason?

  7. …that you forgot NY-23 for some reason?

To be fair, the teabaggers also scored a major message in their 27-point loss last night too. Wolverines!

  8. Jaim says:

    Two words: “Reality Show.”

  9. Jaim says:

Dems ran shitty candidates and campaigns, and they lost. No big surprise. The first major Teabagger-supported candidate got his ass handed to him in New York. Period.

Please explain how having incumbent Republicans being primaried by the racist fuckwits that constitute the Tebaggers (i.e., your good buddies) is good for the GOP’s chances in taking as many seats as possible in November?

  10. SaveFarris says:

Ah yes, the race where the RINO sucked up all the party money, kept her name on the ballot, and even ended up endorsing the Democratic! Meanwhile, the guy with no money and no name recognition gets into the race less than 3 months before Election day and comes within 2 points of winning.

    A real “beatdown”, that one.

  11. According to the documents unearthed when she spoke at a California State University, if Palin quit the governorship to get on the gravy train, mission accomplished!

The right wing base is energized, but it’s flitting around in a zillion different directions. I think we may see something akin to Clinton’s situation, losing seats in the first midterm, though I doubt the Republicans will gain a majority in either the House or the Senate, and a re-election campaign against a not very strong candidate.

  12. The Dark Avenger says:

The end result, SaveFarris, was that a seat that had been Republican since the time of the Civil War became a Democratic one, despite(or perhaps because of) the Tea Party intervention in that election.

Spin it how you may, it’s the results that count.

  13. Dennis says:

Jaim and the rest of the OW lemmings continue talking out of their asses.

Hoyer Admits: Tea Party Spurs Members To Consider Retiring

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., told reporters today that the Tea Party movement is making some members of Congress mull retirement.

“Do I think the negative atmosphere that has been created by the Tea Party and by others certainly goes into the thinking of members? I think it does. I think you have to honestly point out that it does,” he told reporters Tuesday.

Rasmussen: The number of people who say they’re part of the Tea Party Movement nationally has grown to 24%. That’s up from 16% a month ago, but the movement still defies easy description.

Despite everything including the kitchen sink the nutroots nutters threw at the tea party movement the last year, not only are they still standing, but they’re growing in numbers and influence. You guys can’t stop talking about them. And every poll proves everything you’ve been saying about them being racist and violent was wrong.

    Complete and utter nutroots FAIL.

Please keep on doing what you’re doing though.

  14. SaveFarris says:

It’s the results that count, unless those results are in VA, NJ, or MA. Amiright?

  15. Jaim says:

Dennis, you’re the most prolific commenter on this blog, even moreso than Oliver himself. What does that make you? Other than a fucking moron who jumps out of bed every morning to get to work trolling his favorite site on the internet?

Further, only you would take pride in the death-threats and sheer racism coming from you and your Teabagging brethren as a good thing.

No doubt a good 30% of America is a pack of racist, bed-wetting idiots. But this is not a movement with much growth potential, given the reality-based nature of the other 70%.

Have fun at your little rallies and cross-burnings while they last.

  16. Marco says:

“It’s the results that count, unless those results are in VA, NJ, or MA. Amiright?”

Or in your case, the results in Florida, New York or California.

  17. abanterer says:

The Folk of the Bitter Leaf will not get much bigger that Rasmussen claims they are now. Not that 24% is anything to sneeze at, because it is a very big block of voters who have had some early successes with special elections, where turn outs have been low. But, in a major election, I wouldn’t be surprised to see their influence wane considerably since they are not a majority.

  18. Dennis says:

And this is pretty telling as well. It may not indicate where the collective mindset is heading, but it damn sure tells you what it’s heading away from….Nutroot craziness.

To quote the inimitable David Byrne: “Run, run, run, run, run, run awaaaaaaay.”

This time in the last election cycle, Barack Obama was about 40 points behind Hillary Clinton and most of the folks here were expressing their man crush’s on Silky Pony and swooning over his admonishments of his Two Americas theme.

    Good times indeed, Jaim.

  19. Dennis says:

I would have to say the ACORN’s influence has waned considerably, too, abanterer.

So you got that going for you.

  20. Marco says:

It’s true. Those who say no one watches MSNBC anyway see a change in the wind now that less people are watching the same cable channel.

We’re running into the porcine arms of tea bagger nation, huddling under signs that surely read “Welcum.”

  21. Dennis, you’re the most prolific commenter on this blog, even moreso than Oliver himself. What does that make you?

Well remember, Jaim… if you talk about Sarah Palin, it means you’re scared and obsessed with her.

  22. The Dark Avenger says:

No, Marco, he has a point: Two governorships that went Republican with a minimum of Tea Party involvement(along Sen Scott Brown who only wants to run away from Sarah and company despite any effort they made towards his victory), while three special elections where the candidate they supported lost in each case.

Can’t you see this as part of the Republican electorial tsunami wave that will crash on our heads nationally in the mid-terms in November?

  23. KC says:

Dennis loves keeping people from voting. It’s the Republican Way!

  24. Dennis says:

You guys don’t just talk about her, Pollack, you obsess over her constantly.

It was way past the point of being bizarre even a year ago. Now it’s a psychosis. Or a syndrome if you will. A certain type of derangement syndrome.

  25. mike in dc says:

Only 2 or 3 things matter for the mid-terms:
    1. how much do the Dems accomplish in Congress between now and then?
    2. what are the last GDP and unemployment numbers released before the elections?
    3. Will there be anything unexpected that happens which shifts public opinion against the “Tea Party” movement (e.g., a racist diatribe caught on tape, a violent extremist with direct connections to the movement, a violent incident involving a tea partier and a democratic politician)?

I’m hoping “no” for #3, I think the Dems will get financial reform and the climate bill done, along with some kind of campaign finance bill and a major jobs bill (and that immigration reform and DADT will get pushed down the road…again), and I think the GDP numbers for Q2 and Q3 will be pretty good. The real variable is unemployment. It’s 9.7 right now, with 6 more months of reports coming between now and election day. Obviously there’s no way it drops to 8 percent, and 8.5 is incredibly unlikely, but what about 8.9? “Unemployment drops below 9 percent” would be a nice headline in October, and I think that would probably preclude a Republican takeover of the House, at the very least.

  26. Dennis says:

I believe Al Gore set the precedent for that one, anotherbozo.

Talk about soaking up all the leftist-wing sucker money out there. He’s in another league altogether from Sarah Palin in corraling the dumb money. He’s laughing all the way to the bank.

  27. Marco says:

Yes, all powerful ACORN. Remember, it’s ACORN who swayed the so close election away from President McCain.

And we’re obsessed with Sarah Palin, our dumbest American.

You heard it here first, evil lefties.

  28. Marco says:

She’s just an everyday American with average, lavish everyday American demands.

  29. MiketheDeminOtwon says:

Tea baggers are so stupid, the Republicans will use them like a cheap whore for there vote, and cast them aside when they get elected, remember the evangelical right? Republicans use the shit out of them….dumbass…

  30. It’s always funny when Dennis defends his imaginary girlfriend Sarah Palin.

  31. Wilbur says:

Since you post more here about Sarah Palin than anybody else, what does that make you?

  32. Dennis says:

Pointing out your weird obsession with her is not necessarily defending her, Oliver.

I’m reaching across the aisle and trying to help you before you go past that point of no return. I think I’m losing that battle but I haven’t given up on you yet.

  33. Wilbur says:

Yes, it’s time we liberals gave up and just left the cable-news-addict demographic to the wingnuts. They can have it, along with a.m. radio. Take me: I have no time to listen to Limbaugh or watch a whole evening of Maddow or Olbermann. When I want to see the latter I just look at clips on the web.

The people who do have huge chunks of time to devote to such nonsense tend to have other evolutionary disadvantages that will eventually weed them out of the population.

  34. Wilbur says:

Well sorry, Dennis, but I think most of us have given up on your weird obsessions.

  35. jr says:

Dennis thinks it’s fine for Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Neal Boortz, Mike Gallagher, Dennis Miller, Monica Crowley, Laura Ingraham, Mancow, Larry Kudlow, Neil Cavuto, Jim Quinn, Jerry Doyle, Gretchen Carlson, Brian Kilmeade, Steve Doocy, Judge Napolitano, Rusty Humphries, John Gibson, Tammy Bruce and Greta Van Susteren to attack Obama every day. Only liberals are obsessed

  36. mambochicken23 says:

And every poll proves everything you’ve been saying about them being racist and violent was wrong.

    Reeeeeeeally?

    Learn something, Dennis.

  37. Jesse Ewiak says:

It’s very simple, Dennis. All Sarah has to do is go back to Alaska and take care of her family and you won’t see anymore conversation about her on any blog. As long as she gets involved in politics, she just _might_ get mentioned on a political blog. SHOCKER!

  38. Enlightened Liberal says:

Unsure why you assume from the article that it is Democrats considering retirement because of the Teabaggers. Other than Hoyer guessing on Stupak’s motives.

  39. Quaker in a Basement says:

How has that big MA win workin’ out for the Tea Party?

  40. Quaker in a Basement says:

    Proofreading is for dumies.

  41. Quaker in a Basement says:

We’re running into the porcine arms of tea bagger nation, huddling under signs that surely read “Welcum.”

    I think I just popped a chub.

  42. Dennis says:

Except one guy is the failed president of the United States. The other person is a private citizen.

Other than that, great comparison, jr.

  43. Dennis says:

She gets far more than mere mention, Jester. She gets obsessed over on the nutroots. No more so than here.

And I think $12 million goes a long way toward taking care of a family. It’s not everything, but it helps.

  44. Dennis says:

She says dumb things, but she’s smarter than you, Marco.

At the heart of it, that’s what drives you guys crazy.

And I don’t use the term crazy loosely.

  45. canadian bacon says:

Hey Dennis, it’s just about time to shine up your Doc Martens, bring out the shaving kit and your favorite suspenders that you’ve been hiding in your closet and head on out to the “we want America back” protest. Maybe she’ll blow you a kiss!!

  46. Dennis says:

A poll conducted by some guy at the University of Washington??

Ok, spring chickenmambo. You really schooled me, there, bud.

Some of them not holding mainstream views regarding is a long way away from calling them all racists and cross-burners like you guys do. So even this poll proves you wrong, wrong, wrong.

You read, but you don’t learn.

    That will come with time.

  47. Jesse Ewiak says:

The other person is a private citizen who gets continually involved in political debates. Again, Sarah goes and takes care of her baby and there’s no more story.

As far as the “nutroots” being “obsessed”, when she says something worth mentioning, it’s gets discussed. The fact she does many idiotic things is a function of her own choices. We’re not mentioning Tim Pawlently because he’s not asking for private jets, writing notes on his hand, or gets invited to the be a speaker for multi-million dollar campaign fundraisers.

As a side note, will you now admit that the reason Sarah the Quitter didn’t walked out the Alaskan people wasn’t an evil ethics investigation, but that she (or her handlers) realized there was a giant pile of money to be made?

  48. Dennis says:

Because he addressed the health care issue as it pertained to Stupak, EL.

I guess maybe for those Republicans who voted for the HCR bill, perhaps Hoyer was talking about them, too. Seeing as how there weren’t many of them that did, you’re kinda picking nits here.

  49. Marco says:

You finally admit she says dumb things. Hilarious.

Why is she smarter than us all in your latest Palin fantasy, Den Den? Because her fans gave her 12 million, although she says dumb things?

Please explain. Can’t wait. I sense comedy gold is on the way.

  50. Dennis says:

When you figure out a way to make $12 million, Marco, please let me know.

Then tell me what the demand for your speeches is. And how many people who disagree with you politically are crazy insane to talk about you.

And then maybe tell me how many times the president of the United States responds to things you’ve written on your Facebook page, or when you’ve said something critical of any number of his failed policies.

She may have some luck on her side, but if you think it’s all dumb luck, you’re only fooling yourself.

  51. Marco says:

Oh, so that’s the barometer of intelligence – money making. Damn, I knew you’d bring the funny.

In that case, Britney Spears must be the superior artist to say, Joni Mitchell. She surely clocked her ass in the sales department.

But who knows, Den Den. Maybe one day I’ll make something as awful as Transformers or Independence Day, or author a book as bad as any Nicolas Sparks tome. If I make 12 million on it, I can join MENSA.

Hilarious. Dennis, just because she’s your intellectual superior doesn’t make her Einstein to everyone else.

    How sad.

  52. Dennis says:

And if these people are so obsessed, spring chickenmambo, then why would these sneaky Democrats have to bus people in to pretend to be racist Tea Partiers?

‘She Is Absolutely Obsessed With Painting the Tea Party People as Racists’

Is this the best you Democrats can do? If you think about it for a second, if Tea Partiers were the racists they’re being portrayed as, then why would these sneaky Democrats have to bus people in to pretend to be racist Tea Partiers? Taken further, why would Democrats know how to be “racist”? Does it just come natural to them?

Do they think this pathetic behavior is going to win them votes in November?

What the heck is up with that anyway? Why the overwhelming need to manufacture racism to prove a point you’ve tried for over a full to prove already?

Why do you guys have to be dishonest about it?

why do you align yourself with dishonest, race-baiting cretins, mambo?

  53. Burn says:

Ah, yes, what an abject failure Obama is. He hasn’t gotten anything done at all. Newt was right, I’d rather have Saran Palin at the helm, because she’s such an idea person that’s so engaged in the issues, and she has such an amazing grasp of knowledge related to politics and government. Even her background, with all her executive experience as a mayor of a town with less people than my local college and being governor for 24 months shows that she’s clearly more qualified than Obama any day of the week. Who needs a ‘big fancy degree and resume’ to run the country? Sheesh.

(BTW, can someone explain what the difference is between a college degree and a big fancy degree is? I am confused.)

  54. Marco says:

A blog referencing Instapundit. With a mention of “sources say,” even.

    Fucking rich beyond words.

  55. Dennis says:

Marco, Frank and I, how many people here have ever cpmmented on anything you’ve ever said?

Can you point to anyone other than us that thinks you might have something important to say? Anything of interest, of note, of pertinence or intelligence?

Compare and contrast that to Barack Obama and just about every other Democratic politician regarding Sarah Palin.

And on a side note but still very much on-topic…..Change!
    ———————————-

    PPP Poll: Obama/Bush Nearly Divided

    Unbelievable.

  56. Dennis says:

‘Besides Frank and I’, I meant.

  57. mambochicken23 says:

A poll conducted by some guy at the University of Washington??

    What’s your point?

Some of them not holding mainstream views regarding is a long way away from calling them all racists and cross-burners like you guys do. So even this poll proves you wrong, wrong, wrong.

It must be nice to live in a world where every piece of information, no matter the nature of it, supports your worldview. I link you to a poll that demonstrates that teabaggers have more-racist viewpoints than the general population, and yet somehow this proves me you correct. I don’t get it.

For the record, I never called them all racists and cross-burners. I’ve said that their movement is fueled by racism. Which it is. You can ignore the data all you like, but that doesn’t change it.

  58. mambochicken23 says:

First, my link already demonstrates that teabaggers are more racist on average than the general population. The data are what they are. Deal with it.

Second, your link is unconvincing. An anonymous Democratic source, huh? That’s fishy, and you know it. But you ignore it because it supports your worldview. You are a poor scientist, Dr. Venkman.

Third, I said before that I am done with you. I erred today in engaging you again. So this will be the last time I address you, at least until you demonstrate that you can stop with the troll tactics and engage in a conversation like a reasonable human being.

  59. Dennis says:

Dude, if she stayed Governor, she would’ve been faced with huge out of pocket expenses defending herself from a hundred frivolous ethics lawsuits liberal whackaloons were filing against her. She wouldn’t be an effective governor because the Left wouldn’t leave her alone- what makes you think if she was still a governor that you guys wouldn’t obsess over her just as much as you are now? It very much was ethics violations, Jester.

Please don’t tell me you didn’t read her book.

  60. AwkwardSilence says:

Well golly, why shouldn’t you take the word of a blog linking another blog quoting a third blog quoting an unnamed individual at face value?

Those shady anonymous Dems and their… uh… manufactured… um…. fearmongering. Oh, sweet irony…

Also: “According to the source, who sought anonymity for fear of reprisals”

Why couldn’t they just forward this e-mail, if they had it in their possession? You can do that anonymously, you know.

  61. If Palin would go away, people like me would stop writing about her, and you could write her love letters in peace.

  62. Marco says:

No need to correct your errors, including the one you missed.

Dennis, she says stupid things. You said it. Do I know why anyone gives this halfwit any attention? No. Do I care? No. Because she says stupid things. She also says them with such frequency you have to consider the source is one stupid thing herself.

But I am glad you are able to admit, however unintentionally, you’re nothing but an attention whore who measures self-worth by who and how many respond to you.

Comedy gold. Dennis, we’re laughing at you and Sarah. Not with you.

  63. Dennis says:

Why so many comments from you on her looks and sex appeal, Oliver.

Women are more to you than mere sex objects, aren’t they?

Besides, if looks were the only thing going for her and the reason for her popularity, Republicans would’ve convinced Bo Derek to run for office a long time ago.

  64. Dennis says:

I’m saying she’s smarter than you. If you said smart things on here, people might acknowledge your presence occasionally.

    As it is, they don’t.

  65. Marco says:

I’m saying she’s smarter than you. If you said smart things on here, people might acknowledge your presence occasionally.

As it is, they don’t – Dennis

Whatever, Dennis. I am not here because I am an attention whore. Take care. Enjoy your idiocy like Sarah seems to revel in hers.

  66. Why so many comments from you on her looks and sex appeal, Oliver.
Because thats about 90% of her appeal to the right. Need I remind you of the starbursts, of Fox anchors joking about getting lap dances from her, of the general panting that goes on around Palin from the right?

  67. Marco says:

Shorter Dennis – Quit when things get tough.

  68. Dave in SoCal says:

Well Known Republicans Lose To Obama In 2012 Matchups

Although this matchup is a real squeaker. Which really says more about Obama than it does Republicans.

  69. Yeah, another b.s. Rasmussen poll. Ron Paul, right. Superman for president!

  70. Dave in SoCal says:

And here we have the trusty “that’s not a real poll” argument.

How about AP? Or Gallup? Are they real polls, Oliver?

    AP:

President Barack Obama’s national standing has slipped to a new low after his victory on the historic health care overhaul, even in the face of growing signs of economic revival, according to the latest Associated Press-GfK poll.

The survey shows the political terrain growing rockier for Obama and congressional Democrats heading into midterm elections, boosting Republican hopes for a return to power this fall.

Just 49 percent of people now approve of the job Obama’s doing overall, and less than that — 44 percent — like the way he’s handled health care and the economy. Last September, Obama hit a low of 50 percent in job approval before ticking a bit higher. His high-water mark as president was 67 percent in February of last year, just after he took office.

    Gallup:

President Obama’s job approval rating fell to 47% for the week ending April 11, the lowest of his administration so far by one percentage point.

Face the unhappy truth, Oliver: no matter which poll you look at, support for Obama and the Democrats is clearly tanking.

  71. Repack Rider says:

When you figure out a way to make $12 million, Marco, please let me know.

I believe it was H.L. Mencken who pointed out that no one ever lost money by underestimating the public’s intelligence.

Palin is lucky enough to have the attributes that gave McCain a pleasant sensation vaguely related to an erection, and to have been chosen for the national stage, where she put him behind her as quickly as possible.

She knows how to milk rubes, and there is no shortage of them. Milking rubes involves nothing more than being able to live with oneself afterward. Sarah doesn’t sense shame in the same way do, so she has this ability. She can say ridiculous stuff and the rubes eat it up because they are obsessed with her. She knows she will never have to do anything hard again, and she is going to ride this one into the ground.

  72. Dennis says:

How much of your money do you think is in Al Gore’s bank account, Repack?

  73. Dennis says:

Do you think Alaska is better off or worse off with someone else in the Governor’s slot, Marco? If she’s the idiot you claim she is, you’d be happy she left. But you don’t really think that, do you? Either you’re jealous of her for making the shrewd and politically savvy move or you’re pissed that she didn’t just fade into oblivion like she surely would have had she stayed in her current position.

She could stay and go into debt paying legal expenses or quit and make a boatload of money where she’s free to travel in the lower 48 with ease and be far more effective and influential than she ever could have been as the governor of Alaska fighting frivolous law suits that nut case liberals filed against her and would no doubt keep filing against her.

  74. Zython says:

The number of people who say they’re part of the Tea Party Movement nationally has grown to 24%. That’s up from 16% a month ago, but the movement still defies easy description.

George W. Bush has the same approval numbers, and no sane person considers him a success.

Dude, if she stayed Governor, she would’ve been faced with huge out of pocket expenses defending herself from a hundred frivolous ethics lawsuits liberal whackaloons were filing against her.

Funny, you didn’t have a problem with that happening in the 90′s.

  75. Dennis says:

Marco, that’s just not true. You are here for the attention, else you wouldn’t try to pick arguments with me or Frank.

  76. fafaroo says:

    ROFLMAO!!!

    BEST TROLL EVER!@!!!@@!@

  77. Marco says:

    Wah, Dennis.

Sarah Palin is a quitter, Dennis. Just face it. No one is jealous of her. Liberals didn’t make her quit the job she was elected to do.

When the going got tough, she quit. For once, just take responsibility for it. She won’t.

  78. Marco says:

Dennis, don’t reply to me. I will live. You on the other hand would dissolve like a snail on a salt lick if no one replied to you.

I guess you’re a nobody at Free Republic while at Oliver’s blog you get responses. Posts full of mocking derision for your laughable responses, but responses nonetheless.

Feels good to be in the spotlight, huh Sarah?

  79. Dennis says:

George W. Bush has the same approval numbers, and no sane person considers him a success.

He’s tied with Obama now on who people would prefer as president right now.

Poll: Public Split On Whether They Would Prefer Obama Or George W. Bush

Logic, one of your weak points, would dictate that no sane person considers Obama a success now, either.

Funny, you didn’t have a problem with that happening in the 90’s.

Funny, you didn’t know me in the 90′s, not that you do now either.

Funnier still, you were in kindergarten in the 90′s.

  80. fafaroo says:

You didn’t read the comments to that post did you, Dennis?

  81. Indeed says:

You on the other hand would dissolve like a snail on a salt lick if no one replied to you.

Indeed. So how about not feeding The Troll. Thanks in advance.

  82. Dennis says:

Look what she’s done and compare and contrast that to what you’ve done and get back to me on who has more drive, ambition, savviness and smarts, Marco.

If she was a quitter and couldn’t the massive amounts of heat she takes from everyone on the left who fear and loathe her, she’d do exactly what you guys want her to do, go back to her home in Wasilla and fade into oblivion.

But she’s not doing that, is she?

  83. Dennis says:

Indeed, would you characterize your one-man campaign a success or a failure at this point?

    You try so hard, too.

Here’s a thought, why don’t you come back as Mister ed again and act like there’s two of you doing it?

  84. Marco says:

Yes, Dennis. Her achievements are staggering. A popular facebook page, speaking engagements before crowds of assholes and a best-selling book slightly more intellectually challenging than Hooked on Phonics. Slightly.

    You must be so proud.

This just in: The Phantom Menace is a better movie than Citizen Kane because it made more money.

    It just is.

  85. Randy Brown says:

If you added together the IQs of the two smartest Republicans (an oxymoron) they would still fall short of Obama’s.

If you added together the IQs of the two smartest Republicans (an oxymoron), they would still fall short of the stuff I left in the food court toilet at Eastpoint Mall today, after having an Applebee’s milkshake.

  86. Randy Brown says:

I believe it was H.L. Mencken who pointed out that no one ever lost money by underestimating the public’s intelligence.

Not to mention P.T. Barnum and his observation about suckers. Dennis, Frank et.al. prove him right multiple times every Goddamn day.

  87. No, she’s raking in PAC money from rubes to de-ice her jet, and doing fake interviews on Fox for lots of money.

  88. Low? Yes. Tanking? Hardly. I think AP and Gallup operate real polls, unlike Rasmussen’s push-polling.

  89. Zython says:

Logic, one of your weak points, would dictate that no sane person considers Obama a success now, either.

I base that not off his poll number alone, but for the fact that Bush was, you know, a failure.

Funny, you didn’t know me in the 90’s, not that you do now either.

Sure I do, you’re a hypocritical, insufferable asshole. What else is there to know?

And would you care to take this opportunity to condemn the Republican partisan witch hunt of the PotUS in the 90′s?

Funnier still, you were in kindergarten in the 90’s.

    Your point being?

Also, as fafaroo pointed out, you should read the comments of your own link.

  90. abanterer says:

Apples and oranges I think. The Tea Party members are voters, where as ACORN just gets people to register for voting.

  91. Dave in SoCal says:

    Low? Yes. Tanking? Hardly.

Falling? Yes. Steadily declining? Definitely. Improving following the passage of ObamaCare? Just the opposite.

  92. Dennis says:

I think AP and Gallup operate real polls, unlike Rasmussen’s push-polling.–OW

His polling methods have turned out to be accurate and without fail an excellent predictor of where the other polls were headed.

Improving following the passage of ObamaCare? Just the opposite.

And just the opposite of what everyone here was predicting/hoping for would happen.
