    Yeah who is next…

  2. AwkwardSilence says:

Yeah, but it oughta be true…

    Conservative consensus reality: Live it!

  3. abanterer says:

Smug little prick. I admit it’s a personal failing, but I hate me this guy O’Keefe. Just looking at him makes my blood boil.

  4. Quaker in a Basement says:

    Too little, way too late.

  5. rat_bastard says:

    Timely…

  6. I'm a Hick says:

    ‘But it worked.’

  7. ray says:

Terorrism works as in abortion clinics. They have hundreds of talk radio outlets lying and a major cable networ spreading propaganda.

    Goering would be proud.

  8. Paul L. says:

Notice what Maddow cut out of her quote of the report at 6:56 with ‘…’
Immediately after the couple left, Vera telephoned his cousin, Detective Alejandro Hernandez, at the National City Police Department. [He left a voicemail message for Detective Hernandez stating that some “crazy people” were in his office providing information. Vera did not explain
    the substance of the conversation and did not make reference to prostitution or human smuggling on the message. He asked his cousin to call him back. (Interview with Vera; Vera Phone Records, at p. 4 [reflecting a 2-minute call to Detective Hernandez’s cell phone at 6:40 p.m.];
Detective Hernandez Phone Records, at p. 132 [reflecting a call to voicemail at 6:45 p.m.].)
Later that day, Vera also reported the incident to fellow ACORN employee Cruz Acosta. Acosta had been away from the office while the couple was present. Vera explained to him what happened. Vera also reported the incident, either the same day or shortly thereafter, to Mar 15
Murrillon, an ACORN board member. Vera told Murrillon that he had reported the incident to the police. (Vera Interview.)
Vera eventually spoke with Detective Hernandez on August 27, 2009. He told Detective Hernandez ]
[and said] that a self-admitted prostitute had been to the office and was discussing human
    smuggling.
And she condemns others for dishonest “Editing”

  9. El Cid says:

It isn’t a failing. The guy is a slimy, smarmy little liar, an asshole whose fraudulent propaganda aimed to hurt an organization which is one of the few dedicated and proven to help the housing and financial interests of our poorest communities and communities of color.

What kind of personal failing is it to grow disgusted by people of such low caliber?

  10. El Cid says:

How does this in any way change the substantial point?

The O’Keefe frauds & Fox News lied, Maddow reported in summary fashion what the California AG reported.

She didn’t agree to rebroadcast the entirety of videos released by the AG’s office nor to read the entire transcripts of findings produced.

    Ridiculous.

  11. Paul L. says:

Maddow distorted the CA AG report make it look like Vera reported the “human
smuggling” to the police immediately instead of 9 Days later.

Immediately after the couple left, Vera telephoned his cousin, Detective Alejandro Hernandez, at the National City Police Department. [and said] that a self-admitted prostitute had been to the office and was discussing human smuggling.

  12. Repack Rider says:

Looks to me like ACORN can file a slander suit and collect everything Mr. O’Keefe owns.

The major factors in such a suit were that he knew it was a lie, it was deliberately malicious, and it caused financial harm.

    He checked all three boxes.

  13. El Cid says:

This is as stupid as it gets. He called immediately and left a message to be returned. He left a message for a police officer he knew.

If you’re criticism is that OMG he DIDN’T MENTION PROSTITUTION & HUMAN SMUGGLING ON HIS PHONE MSG, okay, fair enough, but it’s not that he didn’t attempt to contact the person he knew in the police.

Again, the charge was fake, the ACORN representatives in no way attempted to facilitate the obviously bullshit claims of imminent crime, and the pranksters completely lied about it and their lies were excitedly promulgated by the disgusting propagandist agency known as “Fox News”.

  14. AwkwardSilence says:

Wow, this is the false equivalence of the week, right here.

So, Paul L… why do you suppose he was getting in touch with the police?

He mentioned “crazy people” providing information in his voicemail. Sure, I guess it’s a minor stretch to say he called and immediately spoke about human smuggling, but 1) it’s unclear as to what “information” he mentions in that initial call, and 2) the fact that he reported human smuggling and prostitution to the two other employees and his cousin when they finally connected, is a pretty clear indication of his intent. But go ahead and split those hairs, champ.

Seriously, to cluck your tongue and pretend that this is remotely as deceitful as anything that dork did?

    This is you.

  15. abanterer says:

Because I’m trying to be a better person that this guy. I hate that this young man makes me as mad as he does, or that there is an organization that fielded his libel, or that it became so wide spread that I can still hear how he did it dressed like a 70′s TV pimp, a lie that has been debunked so many times, I would like to see it tattooed on his forehead so that it just ends.

  16. wiz says:

Are you kidding me!?!?! Not to be presumptuous, but I don’t think I’m distorting El or Awkward’s perspective when I say: Paul L., pls STFU!
