Meghan McCain Is Stupid

Meghan McCain

But you probably knew this already.

Indeed, McCain’s practice of misrepresenting facts to draw artificially evenhanded conclusions has proven quite useful. For example, after seeing the 2009 film Brothers in which a soldier returning with post-traumatic stress disorder attacks his own family, McCain concludes that Hollywood portrays soldiers in ‘a negative light.’ She asks ‘Why Does Hollywood Hate Our Troops?’ and argues that public would be better served to witness ‘heart-wrenching tales of heroism.’ Conveniently, she skips over the fact that many movies depict soldiers heroically. But acknowledging this would make her thesis ridiculous and jeopardize her agenda.

Perhaps a testament to the role she sees for herself within the GOP, McCain also weighs in on the power of online marketing. After posting a link to a campy video called ‘Just Tax,’ she glorifies the use of multimedia propaganda. A parody of Lady Gaga’s ‘Just Dance’ video, ‘Just Tax’ establishes Obama’s economic plan as a debt-ridden ploy to tax the citizen and slash defense. Ignoring data that finds Bush’s tax cuts as the most responsible for current deficits and that the current administration has not cut the defense budget or raised taxes, a determined McCain eagerly advises conservatives to take note of the video’s ‘easy, simple explanation’ of the left’s plan to ‘tax us out of debt.’

But she has big boobs. Stupidity is always ignored when big boobs are involved. I am reminded of that as I look at the Pamela Anderson pic just to the right of this form field :)

  2. Parthenon says:

No stupider than the standard line, I suppose. I mean, not out-of-the-ordinary stupid. None of that would be so out of place on NRO, Red State, etc.

  3. [...] I get severely weakened. But how bad is the destiny of Meghan McCain who stuck in this block post. As the author titles she is stupid and she stayed just a little too long and now is trapped there [...]

  4. anotherbozo says:

“Stupid” doesn’t say it, IMHO. She probably IS that, but that’s not really what’s offensive about the usual Republican refusal to admit facts that don’t conform with their fantasies. Morally bankrupt? Epically dishonest and self-deluded, I say. Self-brainwashed.

Meghan’s dad collects disability while her mom is worth 100 million dollars and talks about the debt

  6. “Meghan’s Dad collects disability”? Holy crap! He was a prisoner of war, for Christ’s sake ! And he’s a US Senator …

What did you ever do for your country, besides bitch about it?

Yeah, all those “soldiers as heroes” films like:

    Stop Loss
    Jarhead
    Valley of Elah
    Body of Lies
    Green Zone
    Home of the Brave
    Redacted
    Men who Stare at Goats
    Lions for Lambs
    Rendition

Even in kids fluf like Monsters v. Aliens, all of the military personnel are either incompetent or corrupt. Or both. Just about the only movie in the past 8 years to show the military in a positive light was … Transformers?!?

  8. The Dark Avenger says:

Shorter Frank DiSalle: Bring back real movies that really support our troops, like “The Green Berets“.

Just about the only movie in the past 8 years to show the military in a positive light was …

    -When We Were Soldiers
    -Windtalkers
    -Flags of Our Fathers
    -Annapolis (though it really sucked)

BTW, Jarhead was a film based on a novel written by a Marine on his experience in Saudi Arabia and Iraq during the first Gulf War- Hardly a fabrication or negative viewpoint of soldiers.

    Oh right, let’s not forget-
2010 Best Picture winner; The Hurt Locker

Conservatives always do seem vindicated when they’re describing make believe worlds…funny then they make such poor writers and artists.

  10. The Crapture says:

Meghan McCain stupid? Man, next thing you’re gonna tell me is that water is wet or that fire is hot

  11. Shorter Dark Avenger : I wish I had something to say

  12. Windtalkers revolved around a false premise – That the Marine assigned to protect him was assigned to kill him if he was captured — a Favorable light? It wasn’t even true .

  13. SaveFarris says:

    -When We Were Soldiers
    -Windtalkers

    Greenlighted before Bush & Iraq.

    -Flags of Our Fathers

The one where the Marines that came home were either drunk, racist, and/or shellshocked while acting as bond-selling stooges of the Military Brass who saw them as fundraising pieces of meat?

    -Annapolis (though it really sucked)

Yeah, the Navy boys really loved that one.

And Hollywood was so gung-ho on Hurt Locker, that it had to get made outside the studio system, then didn’t sell, then got picked up by an indie on the cheap and buried in release with no promotion. Meanwhile, at the same time, “The Green Zone” gets made for $100 million with promotion out the wazoo.

But “Hollywood supports the troops”. Really!

  14. Burn says:

DD cups will get your far in life apparently.

  15. Burn says:

Black Hawk Down. That was about as pro-US military as it gets.

  16. Indeed says:

Care to explain how all of those movies are bad? Should movies seek to create realistic, flawed characters, or only portray Teh Troops as awesome in every way (or vice versa)? Take your time.

  17. SaveFarris says:

Also greenlit and shot before Bush.

I love how you guys can name all these movies that came out BEFORE Bush that were respectful of the US Military, but can’t name a single one that came out AFTER.

    Thanks for proving Meghan’s point!

  18. Pryme says:

    Great example.

  19. SaveFarris says:

Here’s the thing though: the “flawed” solider portrayal only works if the rest of your military personnel are honorable, professional and brave. Instead, as shown, EVERY movie down the pike is about the “bad egg”.

Case in point: the “Why we Fight” episode of Band of Brothers. Spears is a ransacking thief. Luz is stealing eggs and making out with the farmhands. Perconte is sick, tired, imbittered, and wants to go home. The rest of the men are horndogging around and generally making asses of themselves. And then there’s Nixon…

But then, Easy Company accidentally finds a camp. And before the episode is out, we see that despite the flaws of both the United States and it’s servicemen, there is no doubt that they are among the most honorable men History has ever known.

THAT’S the type of portrayal that has been missing for most of the past decade. (And before you ask, The Pacific isn’t cutting it yet.)

  20. Indeed says:

    ???

  21. Sean D. Martin says:

It’s almost like having Bush as Commander in Chief tarnished the public perception of the military. That is the point you’re making, right Farris?

  22. Ken says:

    .. and your point is?

  23. timmy says:

What the hell are small government types doing always talking up our largest single government expenditure?

  24. The Dark Avenger says:

  25. Jamey says:

Meghan is fat, also. But not as fat as Michael Moore, so your argument is invalid.
