Seeing as how this video is about George W. Bush, I am ready to believe the worst.

  1. Wilbur says:

He wipes off is hand on Clinton.

    That’s a scream.

  2. KXB says:

Actually, this is not new. During the 2000 campaign, many reports documents that Purrell was a must on the Bush campaign trail.

  3. Indeed says:

One can’t help but wonder if anyone’s told the Former Commander Bunnypants about this problem. It’s weird and disconcerting on a variety of levels. It’s easy to speculate why (child of extreme privilege–American Royalty, really–doesn’t care to rub hands with Teh Rabble is the frontrunner), but in any case he most certainly has a problem. The real shame is that The Daily Show’s on a break this week. That sucks.

  4. Athenae says:

    CLASSY.

You know, for all the wankery that goes on about kids today not having manners anymore, maybe we need to consider if rich smug Republican boomers don’t have manners anymore.

    A.

  5. Allen says:

AWOL Bush still suffers from the notion that he’s a Premium Individual.

  6. jr says:

“Give me a Wet One. I don’t want to get Sickle Cell”-43

  7. SlyFox says:

Hell, Dave Chappelle said it a long time ago.

  8. durablend says:

“BUT BUT BUT THEY MIGHT HAVE COOTIES!!!” -cons

  9. Marco says:

    I also read he’s a germophobe.

  10. Chris K. says:

I looked at it several times.

Terrible that Bush wiped his hand on Clinton.

To be far, Clinton wiped hand on his shirt as well.

  11. MrGreyGhost says:

Sigh. When it comes to you loons Bush Derangement Syndrome has no end in sight.

  12. Dave says:

This isn’t about Bush Derangement Syndrome. The shocking thing isn’t that he wiped his hand, it’s that he did it on Clinton.

Think about that for a moment. How big of an asshole do you have to be to think it’s perfectly acceptable to wipe something disagreeable off your hand onto someone else? My four-year old knows that’s wrong.

  13. Buzz Killington says:

Heh, I agree with your sentiment, but “Seeing as how this video is about George W. Bush, I am ready to believe the worst.” is clearly just taking a cheap shot. You’re both right.

  14. Jen7 says:

I hear that he’s a germaphobe, so I’m not surprised. But it’s not the worst thing he’s done.

  15. timmy says:

“Bush Derangement Syndrome” was invented by Krauthammer in his piece of satire poking fun at those he’s said had become “deranged” over Bush’s reelection.

But wingnuts ran with it as some sort of God’s Truth, ignoring that their own derangement over Clinton, Pelosi, and Obama is easily demonstrated to be just as bad or worse.

Lets say Bush knew what he was doing and was sorta messing around with Clinton. Doing it in public with cameras rolling is kinda stupid for a former American figurehead, isn’t it?

  16. Quaker in a Basement says:

    Meh.

As others have already mentioned, GWB is a germophobe. No crime there.

  17. Matthew Hooper says:

Sigh. It’s just the carelessness of it all. If you’re a germophobe, know your problems, manage them, and be prepared. Carry some damn Purell with you at all times. Don’t wipe your hands off on someone else.

But a lack of self-understanding, a refusal to acknowledge limitations, and a lack of foresight and preparedness are all kind of hallmarks of the Republican governing philosophy, aren’t they?

  18. Quaker in a Basement says:

Yes to all of that. And the video is hilarious. But it’s a mistake to attribute motive based on the video.

  19. anotherbozo says:

Anybody remember the time the camera caught him doing it ON A WOMAN’S DRESS on Letterman? This was several years ago… Letterman later replayed it to an incredulous audience.

  20. Randy Brown says:

    Suck ours too, GG.

  21. wiz says:

I’d have to agree with QIB’s take on this…germophobes have some definite ‘quirks’, but I’m not seeing any underlying covert or nefarious intent….

  22. It’s not as a big a fuckin’ deal as Obamacare, as the Vice President pointed out yesterday.

I gotta say some of these comments were hysterical in their self-righteous indignation. My favorite :

Sigh. It’s just the carelessness of it all. If you’re a germophobe, know your problems, manage them, and be prepared. Carry some damn Purell with you at all times. Don’t wipe your hands off on someone else.

A reflexive act in the tropics is symbolic of the “Republican governing philosophy”.

    As Quaker would say, “Haw!”

  23. jrfunkenstein says:

He was actually cleaning his glasses on one of Letterman’s staffers:

We’re all just peasants to this silver spooned jackass.

  24. jrfunkenstein says:

A reflexive act would be to wipe his hands on his OWN shirt.

Why is it so hard for people like you to admit that this contemptible asshole is just pathetic?
