Tea Party Organizers Tell Followers To Spam Comments
Tweet
From a Tea Party Patriots Inc. action e-mail authored by Jenny Beth Martin titled “Death Blow”:
If you cannot make it to DC, start hitting news websites and blogs immediately. Most news websites give you the ability to leave comments at the bottom of their stories. Reporters often use this to gauge public sentiment and reflect it in their news stories. Congress pays attention to the news and it affects their votes.
Some days, this would explain a lot.

“Stop communist Obama from expanding Romney’s plan to the other 49 states. If Obama had a cat, he would call it Chairman Meow”-Tea party memo
“Chairman Meow” is actually a pretty funny name for a cat, IMHO.
The power of the Internet to magnify the rantings of an insane minority make me despair for the future of democracy. Especially when the people who supposedly keep track of reality and fact are too busy finding spectacle and controversy, driving eyeballs to advertisers who pay the corporate bosses.
On the other hand, if they leave comments like the ones they were hurling at John Lewis and Barney Frank yesterday, maybe it will help the press figure out who they are really dealing with.
Put teh ka-rAAAAAzy in writing?
Oh, please no! That would mean certain defeat! Haw!
They must be waiting for it to pass before posting the death threats….
