According To House Republicans, Clinton Was A Socialist Too
Tweet
Here is Rep. Bill Archer (R-Texas) speaking out in opposition to Bill Clinton’s budget that passed 218-216 in 1993.
This budget, of course, helped lead to a huge economic boom for America and a reduction in the deficit that lasted until the presidency of George W. Bush.

These are the people still claiming that Reagan liberated America from 50 years of FDR hell.
Every time they call Obama a socialist, it’s important to remember that they feel exactly the same way about FDR and LBJ. Indeed, much of the point of using the word socialist is to try to re-litigate the past, to challenge aspects of our way of life, such as the New Deal, that are as settled–as American–as anything they consider fundamental.
This budget, of course, helped lead to a Republican Majority which created a huge economic boom for America and a reduction in the deficit.

Clinton certainly did his part, by championing NAFTA and GAAT, allowing Republicans to pass welfare reform, and not d**king around with the economy like Obama has (GM, Lehman, debt-crippling stimulii, etc.)
But the proof is undeniable: the market’s meteoric rise didn’t begin until January 1995.
So I guess since the market dropped 2500 points with Dubya as President (and usually Republican control of both houses) and has gained it all back in Obama’s 14 months (with Democratic control of both houses), it shows that dicking around with GM, TARP, etc., is good for the economy. I mean, I knew that, but I’m surprised to see you admit it.
i don’t think he meant to admit it, the guy’s a boob.
Collapse of Lehman happened under conservative Republican George W. Bush.
I thought they thought every Democratic President was a Socialist.
Socialist, liberal, Communist etc…. The words change every election cycle but they mean the same thing: your poopy.
The government’s *budget* caused the nation’s economy to grow? Hmm… heh.
