The Stupak Whine
Tweet
Bart Stupak has gone crying to his ideological bretheren at the National Review that it’s becoming clear that the House Democrats are finally going to stop letting him hold them hostage. Stupak’s small, narrow minded coalition is breaking up and he’s realizing – shocker – that of the two major parties in America, it is the Democratic party that has a vested interest in preserving a woman’s right to reproductive healthcare.
There are many issues I think should have wiggle room for Democrats in order to maintain a big tent, but holding on to a few seats by appeasing those who think women are second class is no place to be.

Indeed! Besides, second class status is already taken by gays.
BTW, Donna, isn’t there a bridge you should be living under?
“If you pass the Stupak amendment, more children will be born, and therefore it will cost us millions more. That’s one of the arguments I’ve been hearing.”
From whom, exactly? Must be the imaginary friend that jr cited above.
I support a woman’s right to an abortion, but do you really have to call it “reproductive healthcare”? Love your blog. Detest euphamisms.
