Liz Cheney’s New McCarthyism

2:48 am EST March 7th, 2010 | Conservative | 19 Comments

A must-read piece explaining how the conservative media infects our discourse. And it’s worth noting that Powerline, yes THAT Powerine, took the moral high ground over the supposedly liberal CNN when it came to discussing this story.

Liz is a Jared Taylorite who thinks only whites are human

  2. I guess jr has an unlimited supply of race cards, eh?
    Heh.

Meanwhile, speaking of “pot and kettle”, what does this have to do with the validity of McCarthy’s objections: “McCarthy … he entertains a number of fringe beliefs, including the possibility that Barack Obama was not born in the United States and that former Weather Underground member William Ayers wrote the president’s autobiography.”?

And this? “Keep America Safe … founded by Liz Cheney … has close ties to McCarthy … ”

What’s next? Are you now writing for, or have you ever written for, National Review?

It’s funny, is what it is.

    Heh.

Not sure if it’s an unlimited supply or just the same deck he rotates around, Frank.

They all pretty much sound the same after a while.

  4. Zython says:

Oh no! What did the Cheneys ever do to deserve this?

  5. durablend says:

How’s that new blog of yours coming along?

  6. rat_bastard says:

    powerine?

  7. Dennis says:

    Victory at Last

    Read it and weep, Zython.

Reality is a bitch sometimes, I know.

  8. Zython says:

Just one of Bush’s many messes that Obama has gotten us out of.

So, when will those people be coming back to life?

  9. The Dark Avenger says:

Dennis would get a blog and a life to go with it if he, like the scarecrow in Oz, only had a brain…….

  10. Dennis says:

I enjoy your attention but not your wit, DA. Sorry to be blunt, but you’re boring the living shit out of me.

  11. The Dark Avenger says:

You really think I give a shit if you find my posts here boring, Dennis the Mindless Menace?

Oliver didn’t start this blog so that you could post your conservative nonsense free of comment or reaction, as a Democratic President said, if you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

  12. Luv says:

What I find fascinating is that Frank and Dennis don’t actually know that constantly posting here with their weak arguments means that they admit defeat.

They think that coming back time and time again after having every wrong-headed talking-point shot down means they’re “tough” and “resilient”. What it actually means is that they KNOW their ideas have no merit, but they get so much attention from this site that they can bring themselves to stop posting.

It’s kind of sick if you think about it.

  13. Dennis says:

No one shoots down anyone, Luv, only in their own minds. People with differing opinions express them here and engage in harmless banter. For some reason you find that deeply offensive, and so what? When people don’t show up here to give opinions outside of the liberal circular-jerk group-think, this place resembles a ghost town, because the guys on your side who are the most prolific commenters here rarely have even one word to say if it’s not arguing with someone.

And you hang around here to give voice to your own
circle-jerk right-wing groupthink(like what a wonderful leader Sarah the Quitter would make, for example).

    Why is that?

  15. Dennis says:

(like what a wonderful leader Sarah the Quitter would make, for example)

Show me an example of one post where one of us said that or agreed with the other on it in the type of circle-jerk fashion so prevalent here, DA.

  16. Quaker in a Basement says:

Serwer saves his best hit for the end of his article. Conservatives like Andrew McCarthy make heroes out of lawyers who invent excuses to abandon American values and villians of those who would preserve them.

People like McCarthy want to convinece us that the American systems of fair trials and due process is outdated and unreliable. The lawyers–both civilian and military–who insisted that we play by our own rules show faith that our system of justice works.

Tell me again who is “on the side of the terrorists”?

  17. The Dark Avenger says:

Dennis, the fact that you’ve never stated any position about Sarah the Quitter except to carp about criticism that Oliver makes about her time and time again, speaks for itself.

Tell us how you feel about Caribou Barbie and her leadership qualities, Dennis, here’s your chance to go on the record and clarify this matter once and for all……

I can link to your ‘look over there’ remarks in threads about the Holy Sarah, as recently as last month

Oddly enough, not even Andrew Sullivan mentions this news item

Or your bizarro version of Occam’s Razor:

Perhaps Mr. Sullivan is holding back on this item, letting folks like Oliver put it out there and letting it appear as the insignificant little tidbit that it is, knowing he’d be mocked for being the crazed Palin stalker that he is if he posted it as is. Maybe he has a bombshell on it and he’s lying in the grass waiting to unload it on the world

Thanks for playing, Dennis, and don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out.
