So the Redskins cut a ton of players today, and Redskins GM Bruce Allen just had a press conference where he said that no salary restrictions had been placed on him for the upcoming, uncapped year and that they would be on the phones tonight looking for players.

Offseason, prepare to be pwned.

Bruce Allen is okay with me. Finally, someone realizes that Smoot is a bum, and he was getting over $2 million a year? Incredible! I’m okay with them all, except for Griffin. I thought he was a tough, solid player.

Damn, they cut Randle El? Didn’t see that one coming.

I smell $293 million in guaranteed money to Terrell Owens.

My Bears sign Peppers, Chester Taylor and the tight end who I won’t disrespect by spelling his name wrong. Great free-agency day!

I think that makes the Bears the “new” Redskins, and then ended the last season 4-12. Pepper and Taylor are both great pickups, but winning free agency and winning football games are two entirely different things.

That’s an intellectually lazy comparison. The Bears 3 pickups are great players, not just headline grabbers. The Bears finished 7-9 last year. 4 of those losses were when the Bears gave up 4th quarter leads. Improving the pass rush, getting a dependable RB and great pass-blocking TE to give Jay Cutler more time to throw aren’t just glamour picks.

These pick ups easily add those 4 fourth-quarter-collapse losses back to the win column.

In addition to cutting the out-of-gas Orlando Pace and moving Chris Williams to LT and promoting Devin Aromashadu to starting WR.

I know fans of other teams want to make themselves feel better by comparing the Bears to the Redskins because Dan Snyder has made stupid acquisitions, but this is nothing like it.

    But do go on….
