david patersonSeriously, what is wrong with these NY governors? Christ.

Gov. David A. Paterson personally directed two state employees to contact the woman who had accused his close aide of assaulting her, according to two people with direct knowledge of the governor’s actions.

Mr. Paterson instructed his press secretary, Marissa Shorenstein, to ask the woman to publicly describe the episode as nonviolent, according to a third person, who was briefed on the matter. That description would contradict the woman’s accounts to the police and in court.

Dems and Republicans are way to similar to the Mob…for my taste…I’m done with politics…at least for now.

I am really disappointed by this. I knew David Patterson back in the day when he was a State Senator from Harlem. He was honest, principled and extremely hard working. There were a group of 30 somethin’s sons and daughters of the Civil Rights heros (that were still alive), that were the most scrupulous group of political hopefuls, conscious of consequences and walked a tight rope, sort of speak. There was an awareness of the history and the debt we as the next generation owed those who came before us. And now this?!? I advocated for him in the beginning, he above all should have known better. He’s really smart so I can’t blame stupidity, I guess just got his privilege passport stamped, and thought he had arrived. Pick a number behind Tiger Woods, David. Pick a number……you should have known better!

I see that Oliver carefully ignores the (D) after the names of both Paterson and Spitzer. Wouldn’t want to draw the wrong conclusions now would we?

However, had these been Republican governors, no doubt we would have been treated to yet another “See! Republicans are vile, awful, hateful people” rant from Oliver.

    At least he’s predictably partisan.

NY? What is wrong with these tri-state area governors?

  5. justadood says:

    “power corrupts…absolute power corrupts absolutely”

Party affiliation matters not at all…whether the (D) governor of NY, or the (R) governor of TX, or MN, or AR, or MO….

Sooner or later somebody will trip up, and their Party opposition will be there to crow…

For Oliver: What’s wrong? Christ….sorry, was that Crist? but he’s FL, not NY… :-P
