Mitt Romney Defends The People Who Caused The Economy To Collapse

mitt romneyOh Lord, this is the Mitt Romney I know and love.

The Boston Globe on Mitt Romney’s new book, which comes out today: ‘As Mitt Romney sets out this week to promote his new book, ‘No Apology,’ he is also auditioning for a rapidly disappearing role in American politics: a politician who is speaking out against the ‘temptations of populism.’’

He told the Globe in an interview, ‘The populism I’m referring to is, if you will, demonizing certain members of society: going after businesspeople, going after Wall Street, going after people who are highly educated, people who are CEOs. That kind of ‘All of our problems are due to that group’ is something that is unproductive.’

You see, even though Wall Street was the major force behind the near-collapse of the global economy, Mitt Romney doesn’t think it’s very sporting of you to beat up on his chaps from the country club!

This guy is a living caricature of the out of touch elitist Republican. The only thing worse could have been if he made these comments while wearing a monacle.

I reckon his ascot was at the cleaners.

Teh Mittmeister’s tome was gonna be called, “America! Fuck Yeah!”, with the subtitle, “Anyone Who Disagrees is Either a Faggot Commie or a Disgruntled Injun Still Pissed Off About Their Asswhuppin’ “, but the publisher thought it might not sell as well in parts of Utah.

He kind of has to make this play, doesn’t he? He’s still got the institutional backing for the GOP nomination in 2012, and with Palin throwing out the red meat he can’t really hope to channel the teabagging spirit.

The GOP nomination process in 2011-2012 will make Obama vs. Hillary look like a game of patty-cake.

Jaim….I agree when the times rolls around for 2012 elections…we will see the knives out for “Sarah “savior” Palin by her own party. Sarah Palin is kind of similar to Hillary. The difference their policy ideas and views on abortion. Just like the Dem establishment plotted against Hillary run for the White House the Republicans elite is quietly figuring out away to hurt Palin.

I honestly, think Palin might be the first woman to have a serious shot at the White House. She just needs to win big the Republican Primaries and put Mitt Romney/Ron Paul guys away. Once she makes it into the general election the presidential race will be a very brief bloody battle. People who doubt this woman could become president need their head examined. Past inept US Presidents have shown anything is possible. Remember George Bush was elected twice.

Good Ole Mittens. It seems the Republicans are begging to lose the next election.

Funny how he throws in “going after people who are highly educated” in there. Obama’s probably more highly educated than the average Wall Street manipulator.

For populism that’s really hostile to education, see the teabaggers.

Hmmmmm, Palin a formidable contender in 2012….Strangely, your perspective and rationale is both insightful AND sickening.

  14. Jaim says:

Palin’s negatives are well above 50% and the trend is that the more people see her on television, the more they despise her. Even most Republicans don’t think she’s qualified to be POTUS.

So yeah, I’m not worried about her winning anything. I just hope she does as much damage to the GOP as possible, which she already has.
