Ex-Coach Randy Hanson Sues Raiders

It’s like the Raiders have a secret plan to not allow the Redskins to look like the nuttiest team in football

Former Oakland Raiders assistant Randy Hanson sued head coach Tom Cable and the team on Tuesday for damages suffered during a training camp scuffle that resulted in Hanson being treated for a fractured jaw and broken teeth.

The suit alleges that Cable ”without warning or provocation” grabbed Hanson during an Aug. 5 coaches meeting at the team’s Napa hotel. Cable then threw Hanson against the wall, causing the left side of Hanson’s face to strike a table, then hit Hanson while he was on the floor, the lawsuit said.

Why is he suing the team? It’s seem more it was a one on one fight between him and the head coach or an assault by the head coach.

Sorry, O, on this one you have NO shot! Al Davis is completely out of his mind. Your guy Snyder is just a Steinbrenner wannabe. As far as the Raiders are concerned, it couldn’t happen to a better team. I’m a Jet fan, and they have been killing us for 50 years!

Gotta agree with john. When Davis spends next year’s 1st round pick on Apolo Ohno there will be no doubt left who’s King of the Loonies.

I don’t get this….why sue, when it sounds like there’s a case for Criminal Assault? Deal with the Criminal case first, before looking to Civil Litigation….worked for Ron Goldman against OJ…..

Tom Cable is a total scumbag whose fists are obviously equally attracted to the women and the assistant coaches in his life. It will be interesting to see if anyone other than a senile pants-shitter will ever hire him to do anything outside of garbage collection.

  6. The D.A. thought Hanson’s story was dodgy, so no charges were filed. With no charges filed, The NFL washed their hands of the incident as well. This leaves us with a civil trial.

As for Redskins vs. Raiders in the crazy race, time to walk off the stage, Oliver, you can’t win. All true Raiders fans know that the team can’t come back until Al Davis dies. He’s the Kim Jong Il of professional sports.
