Are you SERIOUSLY suggesting Republicans have been offering proposals from the outset of this issue?

Or were they more content to allow ‘death panels’ and ‘socialized medicine’ to frame their position for the past year?

‘Tort reform’ and ‘scrap the bill and start over’ are not proposals.

Rationing health care?

You mean like how the insurance companies currently decide what medications and procedures patients can or can’t receive after paying into their coffers for years?

Or whether you can continue to receive insurance if they can figure out a way to kick you off your benefits for some wholly non medical issue like an incorrectly processed application form or their interpretation of a pre-existing condition?

Are these the rations you’re so worried about?

Jay, we HAVE heard the GOP proposals:

1. They want to give the health insurance industry the right to provide no service what-so-ever.

2. They want to turn the health insurance industry into the credit card industry.

3. They want to hurt plaintiffs of malpractice trials without benefiting the defendant at all.

4. They want 45 thousand Americans to needlessly die every year.

I think that about covers it.

Just last week at the GOP House retreat, Republican Congressmen were pestering Obama about televising the debate.

He turns right around and says, “OK, you guys are right. Let’s get on the teevee and talk it out.” And now it’s all “silly games”?

IOW, the GOP lobs another slow pitch over the plate, the question is will DC Dems even take a swing at it.

Calls them out? He’s been flat out lying since last September claiming he’s wanted to hear GOP proposals but continually claiming they didn’t have any (this despite them actually holding up their proposals in the air during his speech before a joint session of Congress that same month). He’s continued to make that bogus claim as a way of trying to find cover for him and other Democrats to ram through whatever the hell they wanted without having the GOP involved.

Of course, it backfired on them.

So now President Obama wants to sit in front of the television cameras and pretend to be genuinely interested in GOP proposals he’s known about for months but falsely claimed did not exist.

I’m glad they didn’t give into his silly games.

Please. President Obama has nothing to prove to Republicans and shouldn’t even pretend they matter. What he does have to do is whip up Reid and Pelosi to finish this. Republicans don’t matter in this because their only input is “No.”

No matter what Obama does Republicans will never never never vote for anything to give him a victory.
