      You also know full well that he used 9/11 like the Nazis used the Reichstag fire: As a reason to scare everyone into doing his bidding, with the GOP/Media Complex 100% in lockstep behind him. That’s what got the GOP their landslide in 2002, and the aftereffects (plus the “can’t change presidents during a war” theme that Republicans always like to play when it’s their guy in the Oval Office) were enough for him to eke out a bare win in 2004. (How compliant was the GOP/Media in this regard? MSNBC cancelled Phil Donahue’s show even though it got the best ratings on the fledgling network rather than allow anyone to have a prime-time platform to criticize Bush’s war in depth: http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=1825)

      But even with the press in his corner, his ratings started to drop like a stone once 2005 rolled around.

            Any economics undergrad can tell you that government spending can help economies out of recessions, depending on where the money’s being spent. As long as it comes with what we call a multiplier effect, it’s beneficial.

            Look it up, and understand it before you throw up your arms and say “wuh he’s just spendin money! That’s bad, right?”

    Are you people crazy? Who wants Bush back? And who wants Obama now? We gotta fix this Congress. Obama campaigned on many Issues: Closing Guatanamo Bay. Getting troops out of Iraq. Finishing the job in Afghanistan, Health Care reform, etc., etc. as nauseam. And speaking of Health Care reform, it was his number ONE priority (domestic or foreign), and he has nothing to show for it, except the DEADLIEST year (2009–he was Commander-in Chief) in Afghanistan, because his Socialist Health Care “Reform” took precedence over some of our best and brightest young lives. He is responsible for those deaths because he had his agenda (Socialized Medicine) as a priority over SAVING YOUNG PEOPLE’S lives.

    Obama campaigned for 2 years (after only serving as a Senator for 2 questionable years?) then took 9 months to address options for our policy for the Afghanistan war, then took 3 months to weigh his decision based on what option would enhance his reelection ambition. Meanwhile, during that year (possibly longer since he had ample time to come up with a strategy while campaigning), the troops already deployed there were sitting ducks, many getting picked off by Al-Queda, the Taliban, and Afghans.

    Ask yourself this question: If you had a kid already deployed to Afghanistan, and waited a year for our ?Commander-in-Chief? to decide on a strategy, and your kid was killed during that year, would you still support Obama as the Commander-in-Chief? If your answer is yes, you are absolutely insane.

      1st, Health Care…the only people complaining about health care reform are people who already have access to health care. The bottom line is the insurance corporations only care about making money. Universal healthcare works, just ask the children at St. Jude’s, where everyone is treated with the same level of care regardless of income or status. Socialism, did you know that every public service that you receive is ran by the government…police, fire department, roads, Medicare, military ect are all social programs. So for all of you guys that are against social services great, you cannot pay taxes and in exchange you will not have access to any social services and let’s see how long the average citizen is able to sustain themselves. Some of you forgot the last commander in chief had eight long years to fix the economy, health care, Iraq, Afghanistan and really did nothing but made some bad situations worse. Take it from someone that has fought on both war fronts, it’s bad no matter who is in office, and if there was any simple solution then it would have been implemented. I hear a lot of people complaining about the health bill but no one has yet to come forward with a solution. But in Bush defense, I am 90% sure that he had nothing to do with that billboard being posted, let that man enjoy his retirement…and let focus on helping our current President with rebuilding this nation.

        First of all, I agree that St. Jude is a wonderful facilty but to compare it to Universal Gov Healthcare is wrong. St. Jude is NOT a government run fcility. It is private. It has HUGE corporate backing (just see their list of partners). If you would like to compare some of the current gov. run entities such as our military to a gov. health plan – then, heck no, I don’t want Universal Healthcare! (Too be clear – I’m speaking of the management of the military system not the soldiers.) We have systems in place for the un-insured, it’s called Medicaid. Let’s fix, improve, build upon, whatever you want to call it – and get our citizens covered. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel and make some progress.

      Likewise, no one was forced to gamble billions on commercial real estate with an ARM, but they did, and now huge office buildings that WERE NOT bought by po’ folks who didn’t understand finance are in foreclosure, costing the banks more than all the po’ folks added together.

      No one forced banking executives to gamble with billions of other people’s dollars and get bonuses when they lost everything, but they did and they did.

      Let’s blame the po’ folks for playing fast and loose with all their investors’ money.

When you live in a bowl BELOW sea level, it would be wise to migrate in such situations. I live on the southern Texas coast, where entire cities were wiped from the face of the map in the aftermath of Katrina as well as Rita. Yet for some reason no one ever heard a peep from the national news media about any of that. In fact, if you don’t give me my money fast enough, I will burn my own neighborhoods and shoot at rescue helicopters. Noone gets the fact that there is no such thing as “government money”. It comes from working families. 42-43% of the people in this country do not pay taxes.

    There, in a nutshell, are the problems we need to fix.

    My brothers and sisters, these problems will never be fixed with Democrats or Republicans; they have become institutionalized politics. This is what makes me fear for my children.

    Bush Administration Blunders

    Missing the Boogeyman, but back in business:

    American Defense missed the Boogeyman and no longer had the Soviet Union to continue their paranoid policies of the past. With the Soviet Union out of the way and no Boogeyman to race with to see who could go broke first Defense was lost and confused… The race with Russia to see who could go broke first just wasn’t enough. They were not happy with Russia beating us to bankrupts first I guess… I can only assume that is why President Bush nearly doubled the 6 Trillion National Debt in his election year 2,000, to nearly 12 Trillion when he left office 8 years later. This vast increase in debt and Defense spending lead to the worst economic down turn since the Great Depression…

    With the Soviet Union diminished and dismantled American Defense had no one to Demonize in order to sell their over inflated contractor appropriations… So, to the Defense Contractors 9/11 was a God send or a soul selling dream come true. While unconfirmed, I heard rumors and read a few things over the years on the net that inferred some contractors were happy and partying knowing they were back in business after the attacks on 9/11… So, a Boogeyman was back and they were back in business…

    My Experience and Credibility was not accepted as a voice of reason:

    I won’t go into detail about how I helped develop and organize the 1st Gulf War. But I will say that I had the experience and credibility to voice opposition against returning to Iraq. Especially for unjustified reasons of WMD’s and/or any connection between Iraq and the 9/11 Terror attack… I advised that it will cost the country about 2 Trillion, turn the world against our efforts and create a major economic down turn in the economy… I should know, I did give his father President Bush, Sr. about a 95% approval rating by syndicating and reducing the cost via a multinational coalition to successfully bring a quick end to the 1st Gulf War which saved millions of lives and affected the economic fate of nations…

    For a few hours I was about to agree with Colin Powel and CIA Director Tenet on the need for preemptive actions against Iraq. Then my commonsense and experienced kicked in. I immediately began contacting the powers that be, and offering my experience and credibility. This should have been accepted as a voice of reason and prevented returning to the Gulf, but I got the impression during the campaign that President Bush was going back to the Gulf at any cost… His base of support was Defense and he had a lot of IOU’s out and the Gulf would have been an obvious payoff while giving America the shell game that money spent would make them safer as many of the seasoned intelligence officers and ranking military advisors were saying the contrary…

    Duct Tape Ideology and Isolationism:

    President Bush, Sr. and President Clinton had great relationships through out the world. I like to feel that I had a great impact on President Bush, Sr’s. Administration coalition building that united the world. Then President Clinton pushed projects that increased trade and commerce and created a major economic boom…

    This all changed with the duct tape ideology and isolationism statements of “Your either with us or against us”… These statements did much more than affect the wine and cheese imports from France… It made much of the world start looking at other markets for their imports and exports… Even with America claiming the be the most stable, and number one consumer market in the world.

    At home President Bush, V.P. Cheney, Colin Powel, Condi Rice and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld ranted and raved “the terrorist are coming, the terrorist are coming”; thereby, creating such neo-conservatism fear campaign that Hitler himself would be in shock and awe of such policies… Having once had a beer with an old German SS soldier while stationed in West Germany while in the Army; I asked him “Why did you follow Hitler”… He told me that there was such a movement that everyone was following him and people were in fear for their lives if the didn’t… So, I chose to take this old mans thoughts and try to be a voice of reason before such a movement lead America too far astray…

    I did all I could to write the U.N., State Department, CIA, NSA, National Mass Media, local and regional TV, Radio and anyone else that would listen… Trying to share my experience and insight that would prevent the run away debt, loss of life, world partners, credibility and foreseeable economic hardship… It took a long time before others started to realize that we were on the wrong path in America…

    In the mean time I started preparing position papers to deal with the foreseeable economic downturn that would near equal the collapse of the Soviet Union. I had also made a few suggestions on helping stabilize the economic situation after their collapse via loans, buyout and dismantlement of deteriorating nuclear stockpiles, and joint ventures with the Mir Space Station to turn it into the International Space Station as well as writing a few things in the late 80’s to help influence the tearing down of the Iron Curtin and in the mid 90’s influencing some of the NATO Expansions aspects..

    Such experiences gave me a bit of insight into the probable solutions that American would need when it ran out of money and friends to pay for our crazed spending spree… I have dozens of position papers, spreadsheets and the like discussing bailouts, new mortgage programs, and low interest loans to capitalize banks via secondary mortgage market programs… All presented at a high level before the collapse and via email while visiting Eastern Block countries that once were predicted to be so devastated economically that internal nuclear destruction would probably be a blessing… All changed by sound economic and finance suggestions and the belief in Capitalism in which I could write and discuss a lecture on… The end result is it’s working, but more debt is being created (some justified due to the Bush blunders); however, it doesn’t look like any voice of reason will be able to take either party of Congress off lobbyist Commission from appropriations of anything and everything that will puts a dime in their pocket…

    The stimulus stopped the hemorrhaging of American jobs.
    The Record Deficits left by Bush did not go away when he left office. In fact, Bush was responsible for the budget of Fiscal Year 2009 which ran from October 2008 through October 2009. The Financial Sector deregulation that flourished under Bush did not disappear when Bush left office.
    The jobs lost under Bush were not filled the moment Bush left office. The wars and the massive military spending started by Bush did not end the moment Bush left office.
    I agree that to assign a cause for problems faced by America does not solve the problems left for America to solve. But, if someone claims the problems we need to solve were not caused by Bush’s policies, they are not being honest. If a person fails to recognize the cause or source of a problem, it is harder to figure out how to correct the problem.
    In many cases, identifying the source of a problem is the first step needed in correcting the problem. If your car won’t start, replacing the battery won’t be much help if there is no gas in the gas tank.

When the government spends and borrows, there is less money for businesses which employ people, small businesses in general, people to spend, people to borrow money, etc.

Yes Sh– does flow downhill but if your subordinates are making the mistakes you need to take care of it. And that includes the people in the private sector as well.     Yes, Bush had some extraordinary weaknesses and one gargantuan fault that I believe was his greatest error: He only vetoed 12 bills in his entire administration (one was a pocket veto). You have to go back to Warren Harding to find a president that vetoed fewer bills. He let the liberal democrats get away with murder allowing such atrocities as the “Affordable Housing” legislation concocted by Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and a little known junior senator named Barack Obama. This is the legislation that led to the mortgage meltdown in the latter part of the Bush administration. We all blamed Bush for this financial crisis and rightfully so. He should bear the brunt of the public wrath, for he could have prevented it all by simply applying a milligram of ink on the bill and inscribing one word – VETO!

    Yes. Definitely Yes. I was better off the last eight (8) years before Obama Mama took over. He has ruin the Private Sector business i.e. GM formerly GENERAL MOTORES now GM (Government Motors) by putting his unknowledgeable nose in their business. As for the almighty one is too busy shoving Health Care Reform down our throats which a vast majority of the US citizens DON’T WANT. I am quite satisfied with my health plan.

    I and many others served this country for many years and were promised health care for life. That will be soon be changed because obama mama says so. Medicare that I counted on to carrying me through those GOLDEN YEARS are having many $$$$ removed from that program to pay for those illegal aliens who cannot follow the US laws. WHAT MAKES PEOPLE THINK THAT THEY WILL OBEY OUR LAWS WHEN THEY CANNOT OBEY TO ENTER THIS COUNTRY? bUT, Obama mama has the plan WE’LL JUST MAKE THEM US CITIZENS.

    What does Obama have to HIDE???? Can’t come up with a Birth Certificate??? Won’t have his college transcripts and records opened to the public – WHY??? Maybe these records will reflect that he was accepted into college under a visa (indicating that he was accepted as a non U.S. Citizen.

    One more issues – HE IS THE BIGGEST LIAR ON THIS PLANET. No one will have to pay taxes if they earn under $250,000. This part might be true because he is planning hiddent taxes i.e. tax on food (peoplle will have eat less because food will cost more); more taxes on energy i.e. gasoline, electric, etc (people will not be able to travel to work, reduce the heating of the house causing people to get sick, etc.)

    THAT’S WHAT HE CALLS C H A N G E.
