Sarah Palin Caught Reading Answers Off Her Hand*
Yeah, the teleprompter stuff was already dumb (I’d like to see some conservative pols handle an unscripted session like Obama did with the House GOP), but after seeing dear Sarah read off her hand at the teabag convention, that talking point should die.
It should be noted that in this speech Palin referred to President Obama as a “guy with a teleprompter”. Irony.
UPDATE: If you don’t mind, please Digg this

* Updated to indicate that Sarah Palin whipped out her “palm pilot” during the Q&A session and not during the speech (where she used note cards, AKA an analog teleprompter)
UPDATE2: Video of Palin reading her hand:
UPDATE 3: This wire service photo clearly shows Palin’s crib sheet on her hand: “Energy. Tax. Lift American Spirits.”

WaPo: Sarah Palin watch: She looks trim, fit — and brimming with energy and plans
But we’re fixated on her? Hilarious.
. . . .and I mean in a scary– quit your job and live in your car to watch her from the woods kinda way.
What kind of drugs are you on Dennis. Her face looks fat, and she now sounds even stupider than she did when she was running for vice president. I even hate to write that she was running for the above. It makes our country seem so cheated. Do you even recall any of the things she said about obama while she was on the campaign trail? Her lies could have ruined a man that is probably one of the greatest presidents in the history of our country. The mess Bush and his idiot partners left this country in, was a total embarrassment to the country. Are you, like Palin, in favor of not taxing the rich, the ones that make over $250K. It sure sounds like you are. Read up on what Obama is truly trying to do for this country. If you do read, and are still in favor of that idiot Palin leading this country in any capacity, then you have no concept of what PRESIDENT Obama is trying to do. Maybe Palin should take care of matters at home. It sure seems to be a mess there.
Her lies could have ruined a man that is probably one of the greatest presidents in the history of our country.
Hee-heee-heee. Thank you, Sue. From the bottom of my heart. A good one to start watching the Super Bowl with.
Not even Oliver would say that on one of his most sentimental and misty-eyed days.
Hey, you sound as dumb and palin. You can say what you want, but you have to be a very stupid person to think that Obama is not one of the best speakers who ever lived. that is why you republicans are so scared. You think you might have to give up some of that money you have been going to bed with.
To Sue: I thought we voted to elect the “President of the US” not just someone that can give a good speech. Job Announcement: “Candidates must speak well while “fundamentally changing the country” with ill-conceived and poorly executed public polices”.
You really think Obama is the greatest President ever? REALLY? What has he done for us? Dropped us deep into debt. Raising taxes. Highest unemployment ever even as he cuts more jobs (see his position on NASA that will essentially destroy Clear Lake/south Houston, Merritt Island, and Huntsville, AL). And when he adds a 15%-20% increase in taxes on the “rich”, watch your area die, too, as the “rich” can no longer afford to pay for extra-curriculars for their kids (killing your dance studios, gyms, sports leagues, after school programs), stop buying new cars, stop eating out (think unemployed waiters, bartenders, cooks), stop buying new clothes, adopting pets, shopping at the mall…In other words, tax the spending base, lose the spend, finish off the economy. For the first time in our lives, we are so indebted to China that they could simply collapes our economy by calling in their loans. Bush didn’t do that. Bush actually had no more fault than failing to maintain a majority in Congress, allowing the Democrats to push through rules and legislation that lead to the mortgage market collapse. But, if you want to cling to that thin argument that it’s still all Bush’s fault, better grab a safety net when Houston (the last strong housing market in our country) falls thanks to Obama’s less-than-brilliant ideas about NASA. When the Houston market fails, (for sale signs will be popping up soon, including my neighbros’ homes), even those barely effective refinance “incentives” coming from the White House will become another laughable failure, just like Obama’s “stimulus” and “jobs programs” have been. You CANNOT improve the economy by taking jobs away from the educated middle class in order to pay for more dirt-digging jobs at near minimum wage. This policy is not remotely sustainable and will only serve to spread the pain, not the wealth. Who’s going to pay for all this when the middle class, who comprise 90% of tax payers, falls into the unemployed poor class and are no longer funding Obama’s spread-the-wealth policies?
Upper Class definition excerpt from Wikipedia:
“The American upper class is estimated to constitute less than 1% of the population, while the remaining 99% of the population is either middle class, working class or “steerage/under class.” The main distinguishing feature of the class is its ability to derive ENORMOUS INCOMES FROM WEALTH RATHER THAN WORK.”
Obama’s budget actually grows the outgo-income shortfall by proposing a record nominal deficit. And that’s not a bad thing, either. First let’s look at why the deficit is growing. It takes a group effort to build a $1.6 trillion debt, and this year the group effort includes: existing deficits from the Bush years, depressed tax receipts from the recession, increased automatic spending from the recession, bailouts, and stimulus.
So why is Obama growing the deficit? Precisely because the country is quite surely in a deep, deep hole. One of out of ten Americans in unemployed, and one of of six is out of work, forced to work part-time, or given up looking for jobs. We’re also massively in debt. Between January 2000 and November 2009, non-revolving debt increased 72%, and it shows no signs of abating. Let’s throw in stagnating wages, a pinch of rising health care premiums which eat into income, and the expectation that we’re looking at another jobless recovery, which will suppress consumer demand — and, in a vicious spiral kind of way, hiring, and income and government tax receipts — for years to come.
One-sixth of the country broadly qualifies as unemployed, and with the economy producing under capacity Obama increased government outlays to replace private demand that has disappeared. The $787 billion stimulus, of which we’ll spend another couple hundred billion this year, was necessary to grow GDP — and did grow GDP by as much as 3 percent, according to many economic analysts — even if it was imperfectly designed.
Still, Obama has expressed concern for the deficit that the recession, and its response, has necessitated. He can’t cut spending dramatically in the turnaround without risking a double-dip recession. So he’s raising some taxes.
Let’s consider the plan to tax Americans who make more then $250K. They account for about 2% of all earners. In 2006, the top one percent of earners made the highest share of income in American history (22%) and their effective individual income tax rate was 19%. That ETR is the lowest it’s been since the mid-1980s, when the top percent’s share of income was only 12%(not 22%). Surely if Congress is looking to raise money, it makes sense to aim for where the money is. In the top two percent, there is quite a lot of money being TAXED AT HISTORICALLY LOW RATES.
If you took 15% from someone making 250,000 that would leave them with 212,000 – I’m sure they would still be able to “afford to pay for extra-curricular for their kids (killing your dance studios, gyms, sports leagues, after school programs), stop buying new cars, stop eating out (think unemployed waiters, bartenders, cooks), stop buying new clothes, adopting pets, shopping at the mall…” – as you described it Taz – And those making a million would have to suffer the loss of 200000 dollars if you “stole” 20% from them. Yeah, I think it would be very difficult for them to provide extra curricular activity for their children, or eat out, and buy new clothes…etc.
Bush, most definitely did leave us in debt with China, pick up a paper, look it up on the internet. He entered office with a 250 BILLION SURPLUS and left a 1.3 TRILLION dollar deficit… by my calculations that would be a grand total of 1 Trillion 550 Billion. It certainly seems that the man loved to spend money on mostly unnecessary things. Obama is spending his trillions, on what? The cleanup of that lovely spending fiasco. It cost a hell of a lot more to cleanup after 9-11 , than it did to make it.
If our banks were to collapse what do you think would happen to ALL homeowners? What do you think would happen to our country’s precious backbone of small business owners? All of whom have their livelihood invested there. (Don’t get me wrong, I’m very appalled at Socialized Capitalism, and giving free money to the corporations and “the rich” CEO’s experience no consequence. I find it interesting though that when Bushy-boy proposed his bailout, he didn’t want it to be voted on, it was an executive decision, at least Obama practices democracy, and republicans went with it, Obama does a bailout that actually includes people like you and me in it in some aspects, and all of a sudden he is the sole reason our economy is bad). But quite simply our economic structure would collapse if the banks failed and repossessed everyone’s home so they could attempt to liquidate their assets in hopes of getting their asses out of fire, along with the small businesses in this country that depend on those loans.
And by God we are in a RECESSION you think the only people are people such as yourself that are taking it in the rear because your taxes are going up?! Tell that to the people making 35,000 a year and their employer can no longer provide insurance, and health care costs are rising(even if they had health coverage the premiums are outrageous and more things are not covered than are) these people cant afford to have necessary life threatening disease treatment. Personally I’d rather downsize my 400k house in response to a tax increase used to pay off national debt and repair our bleeding infrastructure and economy. Than not be able to pay for the medical care of my child, let alone watch them die because of the monopoly insurance has on our health care system.
Let me ask you, do you think we should do away with medicare?
Or perhaps SOCIAL security? Yeah, lets take away the only source of income for many of the elderly and send them to the workforce where they inevitably would not likely be hired, lets make 72 yr old grandpa work 40 hrs a week standing on his feet all day bagging groceries because by god it’s not my problem to take care of him.
Or medicaid…hmm…have to think about that one, it is a welfare program. Yeah, healthy babies being born and healthy children in our society is ridiculous, lets make those children suffer because mom and dad don’t have insurance or money to pay for it. And great thing about that, a whole bunch of horrible diseases would outbreak once more because they could not afford immunizations.
Should we get away with our Police force? We don’t have the right to be kept safe from murderers.
Maybe the fire department should go because no one has the right to be saved from a burning building if they don’t pay enough taxes or have enough money to pay for the services.
I know…. THE MILITARY, lets get rid of them because we don’t need to protect and keep safe those living in the USA.
All of these programs are socialist programs, every single one paid for by the tax payer. I don’t here “rich” or celebrity rich bitching about the fact that they pay more in taxes than the minority single mom with 2 kids. Trying to make ends, who doesn’t make enough money to live off, requires food stamps to feed her children and medicaid to keep them healthy while she works two crap jobs to pay rent and bills and clothes for her kids. And because they pay more into taxes than her, when her apt. catches fire we are all supposed to stand and watch her and her children burn – that is capitalism.
It is the same thing as letting people die because they have no money to pay for medical care. In this country we have access to water that is not contaminated with malaria, everywhere, not just where people pay more dollar amount in taxes. Children have access to education, no matter your background. Everyone drives on the same roads. In the United States of America we send aid to countries that cannot afford medical care, and amazingly it’s something democrats and republicans agree on. However, providing medical care to our own citizens, is preposterous, and socialist, communist, fascist, and stealing money from rich. Well if you ask me the rich capitalist republicans for the most part are greedy and care about their image. They want everything for themselves, and will help others if it makes them look good, or if they have a good deed that needs to be done that day.
Obama has had problems getting things done because, oh, the man has two wars going on and three major threats, an economy that went down the toilet BEFORE he was in office that he has to clean up, reparation of foreign policies and allies that he needs to continue working on, an infrastructure that desperately needs to be rebuilt, jobs he has to “create”, health care that desperately needs to change…etc And all this he gets to do with a bunch of Republicans that don’t want to work with him and would tell the man no even if they agreed. Never in the history of our politics has the “looser” been such a flamboyant baby. Congress has to pass the change he has promised, and if congress is not cooperating then no, he can’t bring the change he wants. It’s not a dictatorship, everything that has happened is not all on his feet, he is dealing with past craptacular mistakes that are affecting us now and years to come. And a bunch of sore losers hell bent to make his presidency unsuccessful in the delivery of his promises.
As you ask people to have sympathy for Palin because it’s hard to do what she did. (I don’t care she wrote her notes on her hand, I care that people want someone that unprofessional amongst other things to run for president. Had Obama written on his hand, the republicans would be all over that). I ask you to have sympathy for our President. He has a country and a world he has to try and please, that’s a lot of people with a lot of needs and desires in a time when we are experiencing World Wide unrest.
Taz said –
“If it weren’t for people like me who worked hard to get an education and earn their way out of poverty, the rest of you wouldn’t have jobs at all, because SOMEONE has to spend money for you to earn money. SOMEONE has to pay taxes for you to benefit from them. SOMEONE has to drive our GNP. Is that someone going to be you when us “rich” have no extra money to spend? Do you really think there are enough of us “rich” to support the rest of you with our taxes? Do you really think you’ll ever actually see a penny of benefit as result of over-taxing the so-called “rich”? I promise you, you will not benefit, but only find more suffering as your liberal-agenad-inspired Utopia proves to be just another political fiction. Besides, what did the so-called “rich” ever do to you other than provide you with a job and support charities that help the poor? Should we be punished for our hard work by having what we’ve earned suddenly ripped from our pockets to support programs that help much fewer people than the charities we support already?”
Taz, my reply to you is this… If it were not for all those people who came before you to pave the way for you and all the taxpayers of your economic standing. The desire for a cheeseburger at 3am providing the guy serving it to you a job, and your money spending providing jobs
would not mean a damn thing. Because the generations that came before you, made decisions based upon the generations now so that we would be able to make money and buy things and pay taxes to give other people jobs, and provide jobs for the next generations, and to pay our taxes for public schools and programs which aid in coming out of poverty, so they can turn around and do it for the next generation. Once we stop wanting to care for our neighbor, and children and grand children and their future, then the future of America is grim. Because that means they wont care either. Europe, Mediterranean, Asian, African, and South American countries have been around much longer than ours. We are the “hot headed teenager” of countries. With the mentality of I want what I want, when I want, it’s mine, and what are you going to do to stop me?
It’s a sad day when in our country our so called politics and political wars are about whether or not we are going to take care of our neighbor, regardless of who makes more money. Why would someone donate to those charities? Are they charities of bettering the quality of life for people? Then why, would the government using taxes to better people’s lives be so scary?
There is no doubt that if you have the proper insurance coverage, and the money U.S. health care is excellent. However, if you have no health insurance and not the kind of finances required among medical care, simply put you are screwed. And that is just terrible for our country. Health, the right to live and not die because of ridiculous health care costs should be a right, just as school, fire dept, police, roads, military, social security, and medicare are. Why not make medicare available earlier, that would be a helpful start.
Until the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of change….. sigh
(If you’re just going to make assumptions about me again, please skip to the last two paragraphs before you respond.) This is the on-going problem with the liberal mindset: your reply made a LOT of assumptions, very little of them based neither on what I actually said nor on reality. If me and my peers are giving 10%+ of our income to charity already, who do you think that is helping? The poor – not fat cats on Wall Street or companies milking the government coffers, which is largely what happens to tax dollars. Not once did I mention that I felt Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security should be cut. (Police and fire are paid by your local taxes, not the federal government, so that’s not a logical point.) However, Obama’s policy doesn’t fund social security indefinitely, and his health plan absolutely aimed to cut both Medicare and Medicaid, quite drastically, in favor of funding a form of socialized medicine that would benefit less than 4% of the total population. Based on Obama’s statement that the “majority of Americans” cannot afford health care today, (and he’s thrown numbers everywhere from 50% to 80%, though research shows only 15% are uninsured), his plan would still leave at LEAST 96% of the people in this country who need help out in the cold with no health care, while driving down the quality of care for those who do have it today (including Medicare/Medicaid patients, middle-class Americans with and without insurance, and everyone else), because he would legislate limits on what could be spent on whom. Part of his plan allowed the government to cut Grandma off from care if she was too old and too sick to be affordable to support. In essence, the government would decide whether you live or die if you were elderly or too expensive to support. This form of “universal healthcare” isn’t working in Canada and it isn’t working in the U.K. – just ask the 250,000 people still waiting a year and a half later for essential treatment – well, at least the ones who are still alive, anyway. The people on those systems quite frequently head to the United States for help because their government health care systems are failing them so badly.
Unfortunately, medical treatment is expensive. It costs close to $200,000 to just get a medical degree and secure a license to practice these days in the United States. Doctors must constantly continue training to stay up on the latest research and treatments and to learn about new conditions and illnesses. (If they didn’t, we’d still be using leeches to treat many diseases.) Equipment required to diagnose and treat patients is extremely expensive because it is expensive to develop and manufacture. Pharmaceutical companies spend billions developing a single drug. Not millions, billions. The docs and pharmaceuticals have to recoup that cost when they treat you or sell a drug, because they have to have money to pay their employees, facility & equipment costs, continue research and to produce the equipment and drugs needed to keep us all healthy. (The work/life balance of your average doctor is the worst in the country – don’t they deserve to earn a little money for themselves, too?) These things are not cheap, despite the bill of goods the government wants to sell you. As result, if we want premium care, we have to pay for it. And we need to stop suing all the time so the cost of malpractice insurance would stop comprising a large portion of any medical practitioner’s income/revenue. What’s most disconcerting is that much of the data our government is basing their health care assumptions around is a decade old. Shoot, even many of the studies referenced on Wikipedia are that old. Obama is concerned about the 18,000 deaths per year by the uninsured. What about the 435,000 Americans killed by tobacco in 2009? Or the 365,000 who died because they sat around watching TV and eating junk food? Or the 107,000 who died as result of drug and/or alcohol abuse? More people were murdered (20,308) or killed by an STD (20,000) last year than those who died as result of lack of medical care. We have MUCH bigger problems than the number of uninsured in this country, and most are self-inflicted by the individuals who have those problems, but could be controlled somewhat by reducing crime and battling addiction rather than trying to socialize health care. Hey, but private industry – you know those evil pharmaceuticals and over-paid medical researchers, did manage to find a prevention for uterine cancer, cures for common carcinomas, and a probable cure for debilitating osteoporosis in the mean time.
If another 20-30% of my income (and I have NOT been paying only an “effective 19% tax rate” – that’s the folks with 7-figure incomes, not me nor any of my dual-income “rich” neighbors – I’m at 25%), you can bet your sweet bottom that I won’t be giving to charity, nor would I or any of my neighbors be able to support our local economy any more, which is what is about to happen to our entire area thanks to Obama’s redistribution of wealth and “creation of jobs” policies that put hard-working middle-class people out of work. You CANNOT improve the economy by raising taxes on such a steep curve in such a short time frame on only a small subset of the tax-paying citizens, regardless of what the liberal press tells you. Those economic analysts are the President’s yes-men and other supporters of a socialist economy, most without degrees in finance or economics. What you WILL do is put those who were still solvent into bankruptcy when their propensity to save is typically 15-20% and the tax increase is 20-30%, adding more to the foreclosure stats and further depressing the market. The reality is, (and even Colin Powell, an Obama supporter, repeated it at the event I attended yesterday), that EVERYONE who pays taxes will be paying substantially more to cover Obama’s spending. And it WON’T help the economy because you have to have more DISPOSABLE income to increase spending and therefore the GDP. At this event another economic guru,(well-regarded and a frequent CNBC and MSNBC analyst) agreed with this as well. My favorite quote of the day came from a well-regarded finance specialist, “Those of you waiting for the politicians to save you -STOP! It ain’t gonna happen!” The point all of the speakers made somewhere in their talks was that if we want to dig ourselves out of this mess, the American people are going to have to take control of their own destinies again and stop depending on someone else to bail them out. Most advised that we return to a 20% propensity to save/invest instead of spending every penny we make. And don’t tell me people HAVE to spend every penny to get by – most Americans don’t. I was there in the middle of it all when the Katrina victims took their $2000 debit cards and bought designer purses, tattoos, alcohol and the like, then returned to the shelters and federal housing with their booty, quite high from their spending spree. It was depressing and pathetic. Anticipating your next assumption, I’m not saying all of them did that, but sadly enough the majority who remained on assistance did squander what they were given by the government. They also made no effort to resolve their own problems and planned on living on the government dime as long as they could because apparently the rest of us “owed” them. As Rudy Guliani proved, people are more apt to be self-supporting when they are productive. Just giving them money only leads to increased crime and higher dependence on the government. He proved this principal out in New York when he reduced the welfare rolls by over 60% and crime even more by simply forcing all welfare recipients who were capable to work for their welfare funds. (He waived the requirement for the infirm and during pregnancy.) Having a job improved their pride and self-worth, as well as reduced idle time and the propensity to commit crimes as they no longer felt entitled to other people’s money and possessions.
The reality is you cannot turn the economy on a dime by any government action. And it may be tough medicine, but those banks should have been allowed to fail. They cannot legally foreclose on non-default mortgages in the process of bankruptcy. (And if you were already in default, chances are Obama’s individual bail-out hasn’t helped you because only 30% of applicants even qualify with that program. Most are still losing their homes. FYI only 50% of people in foreclosure got there because of job loss or medical bills, the rest did it through poor financial management.) Instead, the law would force those banks to sell their remaining mortgages to a more solvent bank that would be required to maintain the same terms of the mortgage in accordance with the clause that allows the mortgage to be sold, or that would eventually foreclose on those mortgages that could not be saved. FYI – Mortgages are bought and sold on a regular basis, and this situation would be no different. Bailing these failing banks out, which was the mistake of both the out-going and incoming administrations, only forstalled the inevitable: banks with bad loan practices will eventually fail, pure and simple, and well they should. Normally a failing bank is purchased part & parcel by a successful bank, and the majority of American banks got through this mess without the tiniest bit of “help” from the government. But, you don’t hear the press talking about that, nor do you hear Obama’s analysts mention one word of the fact that MOST banks survived on their own, because that only goes to prove that a sound bank with solid business practices in a capitalistic society will remain solvent, even in difficult times like these, because they play by the rules, make good loan decisions, and don’t spend more than they have coming in, which was the case of the big banks and funds that were plastered all over the news. And yet you suggest the “rich” should down-size their homes to pay for your medical bills. How, pray tell, do you suggest anyone sell their home for more than they owe in a market where home values have dropped so low that almost everyone is underwater on their mortgage? What would that do other than to further depress the market and extend the recession? Who’s going to buy those homes but the very people who are expected to pay 50% of their income in taxes? (By the way, your math on disposable income does not follow logic. If you make $250,000/year and ALREADY have a $3000 mortgage payment based on a perfectly viable standard of living pre-Obama and the average 2 cars per family for the working parents plus an average child support payment, how is it you think there is going to be anything left to put back into the economy? That’s $125,000 – $36,000 (mortgage/ins) – $14400 (auto & other debt) – $8000 (local taxes) – $5000 (child care) – $9600 (utilities in HE home) – $4500 (insurance) – $9600 (groceries for 5) – $12000 (child support) – $6750 (gas/tolls for work) – $15,000 (6% retirement) – $25,000 (charity) – $1400 (school clothes, shoes, supplies for 3 kids) – $5000 (extra-curriculars) – $1440 (lawn care) – $1100 (general maintenance & HOA) – $1200 (dining out/entertainment) = -$30990. (Note this did not include vacation trips or other major expenditures people seem to think the folks on our income bracket make on a regular basis.) You recommend down-sizing, but if everyone in that bracket is trying to downsize, who’s going to buy that $300k-$400k house in a bad market? No one, that’s who. That cost of living is fixed with the exception of the portion of spending that supports the local economy. So the charitable giving would have to drop drastically, as would the extra-curriculars and non-essentials, like eating out, just to break even. These so-called “rich” couples in the $250,000 to $300,000 range are not living high on the hog like everyone thinks. I also do not see the logic in blaming it on Bush when the entire planet is in the same boat. Did Bush hose up the economy in every other country, too, or do you think maybe, just maybe, this is part of the natural cyclical ups and downs of a global market?
Yes, the debt of Americans increased a large percentage in recent years. Not because people were buying groceries on credit cards or paying their medical bills (less than 25% of debtors were in that category), but because they were spending above their means on non-necessities. This is not the fault of those who watched their P’s & Q’s and practiced good financial habits and are weathering this storm now as result, nor was it the fault of the government. It is the sole responsibility of those individuals who chose to spend more than they made without a clue as to how it would be paid back. I know several people in this predicament. They bought more house than they could afford hoping they’d grow into the payment, and they bought it on ARMs to boot. They bought designer clothes, (I shop Wal-mart and Target, by the way), ate out frequently, went to the movies, clubs, bought new furniture and so forth, took expensive vacations, all on credit. And I have little sympathy for those screaming for a government bail-out because I’ve lived this in the past.
My parents were big spenders on small salaries in the 70’s. The four of us moved in with my grandparents (2 bedroom house) several times because they couldn’t pay the bills they never should have taken on, and still my mom would keep placing “bill me” orders with Fingerhut. We lived on beans, rice and stale bread. We went through 2 bankruptcies, lost cars, homes and sold everything else. I went without birthday party or gifts so they could pay their taxes under Carter’s tax and spend plan. We sat in line for hours just to get gas so my dad could get to work that week. (Eventually, he took a job within walking distance but got laid off from that during the oil embargo.) Sometimes we lived in a trailer. For a while, we even lived in a pop-up camper and cooked our meals on a gas stove. But my parents were proud and we got no food stamps and no other government assistance. We had no insurance, so we saw dental students and medical interns instead of more expensive doctors and dentists. When my bother contracted a rare and nearly fatal disease in the early 80’s requiring a specialist be flown from New York to Texas to save his life, they finally broke down and sought assistance from a charity and our church, which were more than glad to help out and still would do so today. So don’t tell me I’m some hostile, heartless rich person who has no clue what it’s like at the bottom. I’m a hard-working, second generation American woman who knows the meaning of poverty all too well, but I know even more the potential every individual has and can choose to live up to if they will simply stop thinking like entitled victims and take responsibility for their own lives. (It took me working, scrimping and saving for 15 years to get where I am.) For those 18% who are out there really seeking jobs, there are charities, churches and existing government programs to help them out, just like there were during the Reagan years when my brother got sick. This hasn’t changed – in fact it’s even easier to get help now, sans Obama’s grand plans to place the entire country on the government payroll.
Wake up, and look at history if you need a clue as to how our economy will recover. We’re in a major slump, yes. But if you’d paid attention in economics class, you would know that happens about every 8-12 years regardless of government behavior and goes on just as long. We’re actually in year 10 of this slump and should see the natural up-turn any day now if Obama will just let capitalism do its job, leaving disposable income free to allow investors to get back in the market and spending to increase as prices hit bottom. He can extend the recession another 5 years by raising taxes, though, because history has proven that higher taxes = lower spending and deepen the recession curve. I guess the new generation has to learn that lesson now, though, at the expense of those of us who have already been through it before and survived just fine without government assistance.
I agree that cutting NASA is not a good thing, or any in-country industry involved with complex assemblies which is also at the forefront of worldwide technology. But trickle down economics only works in sluggish economies, not a really bad one where panicked, paranoid, and depressed people simply hang on to their tax cuts.
Too many posts to read all but one thing is clear to me.
Taz has been living under a rock a long time iffen he don’t even get that Bush left the whole mess to Obama so the R’s can say during next prez election that the dems made the mess. The Rs left a number of time bombs, such as tax break expirations that the right wing hate-mongers will blame on the party in power. The party that folks usually vote in to fix things and when they are fixed the morons vote them out and let the big spenders take over again. It’s as reg’lar as the sun coming up in the morning.
Those right wing elites shure know how to nail the hides of the thinking people to the wall.
But, wait, could it be that Taz is a R operative who knows he’s telling tales and hopes he can persuade or shame people who think that the rest of us are EVIL?????
I hear Costa Rica is pretty nice….but think it too small to hold all the real ‘mericans when the right wingers take over everything.
Boy, you are dummer than a box of rocks. When did the president do all these things??? You probably mean George W. Bush. If you can’t realize that then you believe in the tooth fairy.
Wow, that is such a well thought out, mature reply. I am simply speechless.
Perhaps your buddy NoBama can provide the Republicans a “corpseman” to try to stop the bleeding. And you thought “potato” Qualye was a hoot, this current guy would be easy fodder for the comedians if they’d ever stop drinking the Kool Aid.
*sigh*… there is nothing genuine about her whatsoever. And I think she just crowned herself as the Teabag Puppet Master.
Talk about “hopey~dopey!”
Yes, we saw it and then cracked up as Sarah spent the rest of the question/answer period trying to wipe her hand off on her skirt, hose, chair, mic, etc., hilarious. I don’t know how to capture screen, but there must be a shot of that left palm out there somewhere, oh, please, please, please.
There was, and there was nothing on her palm. And she rubbed her leg before she looked down at her hand, Sherlock.
Idiots.
AP Photo clearly showing palm with writing on it: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/stefan-sirucek/did-palin-use-crib-notes_b_452458.html
Guess you were wrong about that.
LOL. You can hear the crickets.
Interesting that the angle of the writing in the photo doesn’t match that of the smears in the video. Or that there is no actual source (photographer) referenced for the photos. That aside, anything you read or see on a website or post that swings strongly left (Huffington Post) or right (think Glenn Beck), cannot be trusted, especially without an actual source referenced. I can post any Photoshopped picture I’ve grabbed off the web and call it an “AP Photo,” whether it is or not.
BTW – have any of you ever spoken in front of a large crowd with an open Q&A. I do it frequently. I use notes because sometimes you just forget, especially if you’ve talked about the same thing so many times it all has begun to run together. And no, I’m not an idiot. (Think Mensa here.) Mrs. Palin probably should not have taken shots at the President for using a teleprompter – most public speakers use some form of notes, though teleprompters are usually limited to newsanchors and the like – people who are being fed what to say vs. those who keep an outline of thoughts to keep them on track. In reality, all successful politicians use speech writers and PR advisors to help them look, sound, and act like the perfect people the public wants to see instead of the fallible people they actually are.
Maybe if everyone in this country stopped looking for the negative and allowed our public figures, even politicians, to make the same mistakes and have the same foibles as the rest of us humans, we could spend more time focusing on how we get this country back on track.
Since you “Think Mensa” what is your estimation of Palin’s I.Q. and why?
I didn’t say she was intelligent. Quite frankly, I do not support her as a potential candidate for any office in the U.S. Government. My intended point was that it would make more sense to point out Mrs. Palin’s short-comings as a potential leader than to waste cycles making fun of her using notes on her hand when all politicians use notes. (Some have advisors hold up cards, others use paper, some use an “ear” feed.) What should’ve been pointed out here is that she has shown up in public on multiple occasions unprepared and unaware of the key issues and still unsure of exactly what her key talking points are. Our political system has become too much of a childish American Idol-like popularity contest focused on shallow, human foibles than a system that healthily debates the actual qualities and qualifications of our candidates.
Just look at the childish responses in this thread: personal insults, name-calling, hate-mongering. Only one person actually responded with any data, and even she made generalized assumptions about my viewpoint without knowing what I really thought based on her assumption that, if I didn’t think Obama was the greatest man ever I must be a greedy, hateful Republican Conservative. This is a direct result of our press and politicians conditioning us to categorize each other as “Republican Conservatives” or “Liberal Democrats.” Although recently I have tended to vote Republican because the Democrat candidates were far too liberal for my taste, I am really a middle-of-the-roader who carefully researches candidates before I support them since I can no longer trust the press to truthfully vet the candidates on my behalf. It is my hope that the American people will raise their standards and demand that we all focus on what’s right for our country rather than drinking the whole bottle of kool-aid of one party or another offers us. I myself did not believe that either of the Presidential candidates the major parties presented us this past election were actually qualified to run our country. Obama’s “hope” platform was not realistic, nor did he have enough experience in government or the business world and did not appear to have any real training or experience with finance and economics. His entire short career prior to politics was in law, which is very separate from the types of businesses that drive our economy and does not offer much opportunity to develop management skills. McCain was under-educated, having never obtained a degree, and, though well-qualified as an experienced member of both sides of Congress and a Naval veteran, also did not possess significant background in business, economics, or finance and showed little background in working within the realm of civics, as had Obama in his time as a civil rights attorney.
And for Sue and Rachel – I initially supported Obama’s bid for the Presidency, because I too was dazzled by his well-groomed image and ability to deliver a great speech. Then I read what he intended to do and, based on my education and experience with economics and the business world, determined that he did not have a realistic, sustainable plan for our country and would likely do more damage as result of his naiveté. I am not a staunch supporter of either party, but am a realist with a degree in business and 18 years of experience in the work force. I don’t believe any of us should jump on the bandwagon just because one party or another tells us to do it. Neither party operates based on truth, (nor do their supporters in the press), so it is our responsibilities as citizens of this country to look at the actual data and make up our minds for ourselves and stop parroting back the talking points we hear ad nauseum from both camps.
There was, and there was nothing on her palm. And she rubbed her leg before she looked down at her hand, Sherlock.
Idiots.
Dennis
Crickets and tumbleweeds.
THANK YOU THANK YOU! I thought I was seeing things when I saw her looking at her hands for an
answer. She did catch herself quickly, but it was so transparent!
Excellent Gotcha!!
Someone asked me if there was writing on her left hand when she was flipping her hands at the podium but I did not catch it.
The fact she had paper notes is no different than a teleprompter. I wonder what pictures they provided her due to her inability to read!!!
Yep. That’s when I saw it – while she was at the podium.
I know for a fact she was not reading her speech. Because its well known she’s too stupid to know how to read.
Now, now…she’s not too stupid to read. She’s just too important to bother, dontcha know, yup, yup.
Seriously? I feel like I’m reading a thread posted by children. Has our political system devolved to name-calling and personal insults rather than discussion about the issues we all face as a common group of citizens? How did our country become so polarized that people would thoughtlessly verbally abuse another person simply because they disagree with her politics? What if that were you on that podium? (And this goes for the Obama haters, too.) What would you do if you were nervous? What would you do if you were tired from travelling the country to talk to your fellow citizens? What if the speech were new to you?
By engaging in this kind of hateful bashing sessions, we are telling all politicians that the citizens of this country are no longer intelligent nor thoughtful enough to merit being spoken to like adults. We are telling them that mudslinging, blame-politics and fear-mongering are the best way to reach us, because it’s the type of discussion we engage in ourselves. Depressing.
Became polorized after eight long years of nothing but lies and distortions.
The GOP did nothing for Americans, aside from giving bushwacko anything he wanted. More money for war, WBTW, was never included in ANY BUDGET.
How does one do that? How does your family budget work?
Palin is nothing but, a money grubbing, attention seeking baffoon. And those who follow her are SHEEP.
Might one start by demanding contrarian posters back up their own refutations with credible links? Might move rational debate back to the center instead of always on the left.
Taz… be honest. You have a crush on Mrs. Palin, don’t you? Oh, yes, you probably TiVo’d the whole thing, and sit there longinly gazing at her hosed yams… hmmm hmmmm. You love her, ha ha ha… you love her.
1) I’m a woman (straight, thank you) and 2) I do not think Mrs. Palin is qualified to run for office. If we made Presidential candidates go through the same interview a managerial candidate does in most businesses, she wouldn’t get past the phone interview because she is consistently unprepared and has proven incapable of remembering her own position on major issues, generally because she does not have a working knowledge of the national and global issues facing us today. I also do not believe she is representative of the mindset of the majority of American women – she is too far right to serve our entire public well, as Obama has proven too far left.
You did, however, prove my point about the childishness of the American public devolving any election into a pure popularity contest. Thank you.
I knew I saw words written on her palm.
Bawhahahahahahahah
I zoomed in and saw that her palm said
1.Rain in spendin’
2 Start new energy progects
3 Dril Baby Dril
What, did Buttercup forget her invisible tinfoil hat with antennae to receive her word salad talking points? I’m so disappointed. Get this clown some help, please.
then she tried cleaning her hand by rubbing her leg and clothes. She knew she was caught and wanted to wipe away the evidence.
What a loser.
I’m sure Faux News will edit that part out of their footage of her pathetic “Q&A session”
Steve M: Tina Fey is laughing all the way to bank. All she has to do is dress up like Palin, repeat what she says and draw a fat check. She doesn’t even have to hire a writer. The comedy is already there.
I love it. Faux News. I have to tell everyone at work, especially my republican co-workers.
A teleprompter is just one more thing Sarah doesn’t read
Cheat sheet written on the hand….what grade did the rest of us stop doing that? LOL, Priceless!!
She’s still a better orator than Pres Obama. He cant speak off the cuff to save his life. Remember that famous rally where his teleprompter went out and he babbled about nothing for several minutes. PUPPET president. he and sarah are identical
Alicia-I saw NOT one Teleprompter at either one of POTUS’s Q & A’s last week.
Did you?
Alicia – It’s an old Rovian tactic to attack an opponents strength. The R’s make fun of Obama using the teleprompter because it is one of his strengths. There is absolutely no difference between reading a speech from paper or a teleprompter except that with a prompter you don’t have to look up and down…… oh and Palin is an idiot.
Did you NOT see the President wipe up the floor with repubs at the Q&A session. Not to mention all the interviews and questions he responded to during the campaign and since he’s been President. Ya’ll really need to find something else other than the teleprompter because there is no truth in it. Not that it matters to repubs.
Of course not. Sounds like a Faux Noise watcher, and remember they cut away from that session.
Since you apparently missed it, just look here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1-jasxb7NY
It was such a bad night for the Republicans (i.e., such a good night for the President and the majority of Americans who support him) that even they now admit it was a mistake: http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/heather/russert-republicans-say-it-was-mistake-cam
Um, but of course you are right, the President will only look like a fool whenever he tries to speak without a teleprompter — Republicans should try to trap him into speaking off the cuff on live TV as often as possible. Please.
Well he did at the GOP luncheon. In depth, and recounted every falsehood, distortion, and absolute lie they told, in their Q & A session. There was not one GOP question off the cuff. They all stood with their NOTES to ask the President a question. NOTES. B/c they had to go on and on ad nauseum with GOP talking points first. THEY looked like idiots b/c they couldn’t remember their questions. He stood without notes, without a teleprompter, and ate them alive!
He is intelligent, well educated, and can speak the English language.
Can’t say that there…for her..there….troops, God, God, insults, fear!
The woman is a old beauty queen, with nothing upstairs and a cheat sheet on her hand!
I love you Connie! All so true.
connie: Well said. What is so concerning to me is that there are actually some brilliant conservative thinking people in the US. They are being marginalized for glamor, glitz, and hype. Mitt Romney while governor gave Mass. universal health care. If this is what the conservatives are going to offer, I am afraid for our country.
Just because someone is on the campaign trail does not mean that person will get the nomination. Let’s talk about Hillary Clinton. Who didn’t think she was going to easily wrap up the Democratic nomination this last time around?
Let’s grow up this discussion a bit, folks. It is so tiresome hearing the constant “stupid repubs” “libtards” insults thrown back and forth. We all live in the same country. We all have a need for our GNP to increase and our debt to decrease. Our neighbors, friends, and loved ones need jobs. There are those in our country who wonder from day to day if they will get enough to eat or be able to feed their children. And yet THESE are the discussions we have? “The President ate them alive.” So what? No one has really accomplished a thing when it comes to making our country a better place to live because all of them are too focused on keeping you, the verbal minority, happy enough to convince the rest of the country voting in their direction.
I am going to bed to have nightmares about what really drives the decisions Americans make in the voting booths. Is it well thought out and researched decisions on the issues or clueless loyalty to one side or the other?
“No one has really accomplished a thing when it comes to making our country a better place to live”
America is much better place with Obama as president than Bush. Not to mention America is being taken seriously again as a global power.
Sorry, but the GOP owns the Bush II era/Recssion. And it would be irresponsible to let anyone forget just how badly they govern.
Jaim, you say America is much better off with Obama as President. Where is that evidenced? The unemployment rate is at it’s highest ever. Obama has chosen to also cut another 20,000+ jobs by killing off most of NASA. We have no movement on healthcare, not because the Republicans said no, but because neither the House nor Senate were able to come up with something that helped any more than 4% of the 15% of Americans who have no insurance. Non-partisan analysts determined that both plans presented would result in a healthcare cost increase for Medicare patients and the 85% of Americans who have some sort of health coverage today. We are not considered any more of a global power than before – in fact, our enemies see Obama’s desire to make friends with them as a weakness, and he has alienated several of our allies in his attempt to befriend their enemies. (http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/opedcolumnists/obama_feeds_allies_to_bear_PMpzvTatl7WiRqyYL3ZtvJ), he still has failed to make good on promises to our allies to close Gitmo, (although I see this as a plus since he made that promise with no plan on how to make it happen), Obama is sending another 30,000 troops to Afghanistan and still plans to leave 50,000 troops in Iraq after his planned August withdrawal (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/feb/26/pentagon-media-dead-soldiers-usa). I could go on, but don’t have time.
I am impressed that Taz is trying to be balanced in this discussion. And she is right about trying to improve the level of discussions in this country. I have some concerns about Obama (starting with the fact that he accepted significant suppport while in the Senate from Goldman Sacks – I believe it was the most of all sitting senators, but I could be wrong.)
However, he did inherit a huge problem (and two wars from the Republicans) and he’s only been on the job for one year. Let’s see what happens if the Republicans are given a chance to work on these problems in a truly bipartisan manner. (Supposedly they were shut out of the healthcare discussions.) If Obama puts tort reform on the table (a Republican hot button) I’d like to see what they are willing to compromise on.
BTW, can we agree that there are only two options for reducing our national debt? We can reduce expenses (military budget, entitlements like social security or medicare) or we can increase revenues (i.e. taxes.) That’s it! So instead of rants and name-calling, let’s hear what people would do with these two options (or a combination of both.)
Connie, You sound very smart. You are an excellent writer. Hope you are working somewhere in politics. Hope you work on the next election. There are a lot of stupid people out there who believe the republican’s lies.
For real? I find that when Sarah is speaking off the cuff it is usually off the wall in content as well.
Of course Obama can answer questions without a teleprompter–that’s lesson #1 in law school. And he proved so when he addressed the Republicans a few weeks ago, and during the State of the Union address, where there are NO teleprompters in the room. He doesn’t need a teleprompter. Get over it already!
Well actually he had teleprompters at the SOTU but who cares? That’s not anything abnormal.
Are you nuts Alicia? What planet are you from. Have you ever listened to one of President Obama’s speeches. How about that long question and answer PRESIDENT Obama just did with the stupid republicans. I’d say he held his own and showed the country just who the Republicans are for (THE RICH).
Apparently you missed President Obama in the lions den last week.
No teleprompter, no notes.
Staight question and answers.
Palin would never be able to construct a sentence off the cuff.
Which hands does Sarah Palin read? Oh, ALL of them!
Uh… she carried notecards on stage with her. Why would she write on her hand?
Because shHe wasn’t allowed to bring them to the Q&A.
Didn’t they take her IQ into account?
I SAW a closeup of her hand while she was giving her speech and said, ‘gee, she has words written on her palm’. I know what I saw. So pretending as though she didn’t won’t make it so.
Priceless . . . . .
Sarah read her entire speech from notes and answers questions from the palm of her hand. What else is new?
This wasn’t even her speech, but the Q and A session afterwards. Even worse. He speech was written on a hardcopy teleprompter (i.e. paper)
The guy obviously fed her the questions and she made a few notes on her hand so she could answer the few questions she agreed to.
Obama took questions for many more minutes from the House GOP caucus, still people — including Palin– are complaining about Teleprompter usage.
That’s because the sheep only watch Fox Snooze and since Obama was kickin @ss Fox Snooze didn’t show it all lmao!
You guys are kidding right? Grow up. Is that all you got?
Palin kicked ass tonight and now all of you freaks are soiling yourselves, playing with your belts, drooling all over your shirts. C’mon. Admit it. You disagree with her, but she landed it. You’re all scared shitless.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaha!
You are kidding. This was the most pathetic display of incompetence yet from this fraud. Every talking point had already been debunked. Whoever wrote this speech for her has not kept up to date with the goings on in the country or outside the country. ……….. oh, my bad, she had little index cards. She put this thing together herself. Thats why it came off so misinformed. I wonder if she has altzeimers too????
You mean “Alzheimer’s”? If you’re going to call another person stupid, make sure your post at least reads as if it is from someone who is educated when you do.
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhaaaa
Are you REALLY that stupid? Oh, you’re a teabaggot so that answers the question. For the irony impaired such as you: SHE INSULTS THE PRESIDENT FOR USING A TELEPROMPTER AND THEN GETS BUSTED READING ANSWERS TO A Q&A OFF OF HER HAND THE SAME NIGHT. Get it now, snapperhead? No, moron…the ass-kicking was the President’s little Q&A with the republics. They said they regretted letting it be televised because he kicked their asses so soundly. The best thing Mooselini can do for the Democrats is keep talking. “I can see Russia from my house.”
Agree Palin is not the brightest bulb in the political pack, but she never said that. You’re confusing her with Tina Fey.
I would be scared for the country if this moron ended up in national office ever, anywhere.
I’d be scared to let her wild, unsupervised, drinking & drugging kids anywhere near mine.
I’d be really scared if I were a starving, freezing Alaskan trying to get through the winter with hardly any food or heating oil (just like last year….way to fix the problems with some cookies, Quitter!).
That’s about it, though.
Interesting. I had the same fears about Obama, and my fears are coming to fruition with his excessive tax and spend policies. Although there are clearly a large number of blindly loyal Obama-ites on this thread, check the approval numbers at http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll (non-partisan, independent polling). You are now in the minority as the rest of us are waking up and smelling the sour stench of failure – failure to make good on any promises, failure to enact any semblance of intelligent fiscal policy, failure to understand the basic mechanics of capitalism…I could go on, but Americans need to pay closer attention to the policies being passed. You are quickly losing your money and your freedoms so Obama can “spread the wealth.” If you’d ever been to Russia in the 80’s or early 90’s, you can see the full effect of this type of policy. The “wealth” quickly disappears and soon EVERYONE is standing in line for rice and toilet paper. FYI – those same polls show the Republicans are more trusted on key issues than the Democrats today. Maybe it’s time to re-think why you are so fiercely loyal to the current administration. It’s okay to admit you made a mistake in voting so many members of the same party into office a the same time. Maybe if we’d been more balanced in our voting, things would be getting better instead of worse as is the trend today.
“excessive tax”
Obama is responsible for the largest tax cut in American history.
Uuuuuuh dude, it’s all over the internet now. This is pretty much it. The Palin handprompter will be about the only thing people will remember about this….and maybe Tancredo’s KKK speech.
http://cheezburger.com/view.aspx?ciid=6712576
Here’s a still which clearly shows her palmprompter:
http://s38.photobucket.com/albums/e150/NYCSKP/sarahhand.jpg
And there are more clearer photos coming in.
Oh please Allah, let Palin run in 2012.
It was a hard landing; she came in at an obtuse angle, and she ended up in the weeds. And her landing gear wasn’t functioning.
Please let her run. Please let her run. Please.
The only thing more dangerous than this political Paris Hilton are you imbeciles determined to send the Nation to Hell by supporting her.
You would have to improve to be stupid.
You truly aren’t serious, are you? Palin has got to be one of the dumbest speakers I have ever heard. Do you ever listen to PRESIDENT Obama, and what he has to say. You must be one of those people who just want the rich to thrive as they have been during bush’s 8 year circus term. You had a vice president who almost killed his friend while hunting, you had (bush)in office (God only knows how he got there) who couldn’t give a speech to save his life, and bush (this kind sole)wanted to tax only the poor and middle class people and not tax those who made over $250K, you had palin running for an office that she probably just discovered existed that she was not qualifed for, you had palin telling all kinds of lies to get the people who do not read or watch unbiased News reviews, almost ruin PRESIDENT Obama’s future. Don’t you know that they just ran palin because she is a woman a a halfway okay looking woman, who is not afraid to spread lies about anyone so she can get ahead.
PRESIDENT OBAMA is in office now. Respect him you idiot.
Wow, you’ve almost repeated the Democratic Bush-bashing handbook to the letter! Original thought is truly essential to winning a debate. Who cares if Cheney had a hunting accident? It happens. So do car accidents, household accidents, sports injuries, etc. Does that make the people who have those accidents any less qualified to do their jobs? Absolutely not. So, bringing that up in any political discussion immediately makes you look desperate, not intelligent.
I personally do listen very carefully to what Obama says. I hear a lot of “hope speech” with no substance behind it. His thoughts on how the economy works are naive at best. (He clearly was not required to take macro- and micro-economics or Finance in college.)
I’m not sure what country you’ve been living in, but it doesn’t sound like the same as I. Look closely at the tax history. Under Bush, the middle and lower class citizens got the largest cut. (Back then, I fell in that category with an “average” middle-class income.) Those cuts are rolling back, so if you make over $30,000 a year in your household, you will feel it soon.
And at what point did a couple making $250,000 suddenly fall into the same bucket as Donald Trump and the average NBA All-Star? This is a far cry from the 7-figure income of someone who is really rich. At $250,000 a year, a couple is likely living in a middle-class neighborhood in a home that costs about $300k to just under $400k, with most of their income sunk into that home. They are likely driving vehicles that cost around $25k and are several years old. They are investing 6% of their income into retirement, and another 10%+ into charity and college funds for their kids. (This is very good for our economy as the savings is used by banks to fund loans to keep Americans spending, and charity helps for obvious reasons.) They support their local economy by eating out maybe once every week or two and going to the movies once a month or so. They buy new clothes for their kids when school starts then again for summer, and have a small semi-annual budget set aside to rotate the old things out of their own closets. If they’re lucky enough not to be paying a quarter of their income out to child support or another debt, they may take a week-long, near-by vacation once a year, further supporting the economy. Usually their kids are in an extra-curricular activity that employs an instructor, office staff and owner(s) of some small studio, gym or league.
Yes, this is the lifestyle of the rich. This is MY lifestyle. (I don’t have a pool, wear designer clothes or drive a BMW, in case you’re wondering.) And if I lose 15-20% of my income next year to a major tax increase, you can bet the waitress I tip 21% at Cheddar’s twice a month will feel the pain. The dance instructor will, too, when she loses her job because people like me can no longer afford her services. Then she will stop making her car payments and buying clothes at the mall and dance gear at the little shop near the studio. The little shop will close, and the mall shops will let their most expensive employees go. Some of those stores will go under or pull out (Disney, Warner Brothers, Linens & Things, Libby Lou’s, that cool shop with the old movie posters…) Those ex-employees will then also stop spending money. Soon, businesses will close and the GNP will decrease more because there are at least 5 other businesses that depended on the restaurant or retail shop for their revenue by supplying their business with merchandise or business equipment/supplies, etc. Prices will plummet and jobs will be so scarce as to be non-existent.
Maybe you should re-think your definition of “rich” and stop biting the hand that feeds you, even for just a moment. (At least long enough to formulate a thought for yourself rather than swallowing whole-heartedly every line the liberal politicians feed you.) If it weren’t for people like me who worked hard to get an education and earn their way out of poverty, the rest of you wouldn’t have jobs at all, because SOMEONE has to spend money for you to earn money. Should we be punished for our hard work by having what we’ve earned suddenly ripped from our pockets to support programs that help much fewer people than the charities we support already? (Do you really think YOU were going to benefit from that health plan that still hasn’t passed? Try reading their proposal all the way through, you’ll find more than likely it would hurt you more than help.)
http://www.whitehouse.gov. You can find out what they’re REALLY doing with all the debt if you’ll just take enough time to read, and UNDERSTAND what Congress is actually trying to do. You just can’t kill NASA to build bridges to nowhere and actually help anyone in the process.
And if I lose 15-20% of my income next year to a major tax increase
Who is proposing that?
Here’s the answer: no one. No one is proposing a tax increase that would take an additional 15-20 percent of your income. Where on earth did you come up with such an outlandish idea?
I look foward to the crushing burden of paying Clinton-era taxes on an income of over 250K/year.
As a teacher it probably won’t happen but hey, I can dream.
Taz, you are missing the picture and lets be honest about the fact.
1. Everyone continue to say that Bush left us a 1.2 trillion dollar deficit. this is false, actually he left us with a 8 trillion deficit.
this is bush’s fault all the way. we should never runaway from the truth.
2. We went to war based on a lie-true: We lost countless American people due to these war (their death is on his hands). Instead of the American paying for war, we should have create some kind of program to offset budget
Passed a Medicaid pay by who? there was no program to pay for this bill
The Republican continue to be the party of (NO) Example they created a bill to work hand in hand with democrat and president agree with the Republican, what did they walk away from their bill.
The President put Republican on Blast in house for not doing the right thing for the American People but they know how to play dodge ball every well.
Each Republican that asked him a question was put in their place politely by the President.
The were wrong on each of their questions
Go to factcheck.com or snopes.com, Actually, go MSNBC and pull the data
Better yet, go to Congressional Budget Office (www.cbo.gov) pull CBO’s Baseline Projections of Federal Debt table 1-7 for all the information
Republicans have stated and shown the American people they do not believe in bipartisanship
You are joking, aren’t you fool.
Please, she did not nail it as you put. This woman is walking contradictions, she cannot complete sentence and when tries it does not make any since to anyone. I would be first to say would enjoy to having a woman as V.P. or President, Palin is not the one. She is not intelligent enough to carry here to higher position than the one she is holding now, which I not what position she is holding at this time. Palin is all about the money not about the people, in time people will take notice of her disposition and character.
What kind of drugs you on?
Palin nailed nothing.
She put another nail in her public office candidate coffin.
She continues to show just how incredibly stupid she is each time she opens her mouth! Perhaps she could have been nicer or actually smarter to befriend Nicole Wallace, said nice things about her in her book, and she COULD have been working with media consultants rather than writing on her hand like a 3rd grader!
Do they make waterproof crayons? I’ll be darned.
Gosh, I’m just impressed that she can read….
Maybe it was just cartoons drawn on there.
Hand cheat sheet. Brilliant!
The difference between this woman, Sarah Palin, and all of you naysayers is that you’re Internet losers with blog muscles and she’s powerful, earning $100,000 every time someone wants to hear her speak.
Quick. Run to your bathrooms. Look in the mirror, you losers.
Ahhh, a fan. That’s sweet. I hope those teabaggers can get home
after she robbed them without pulling a gun. And you know–any shill
can take money from stupid children. But it’s still sweet you’re a fan ’cause
I got some property near this swamp I’m looking to get rid of . . . . .
That’s pretty funny. Sarah wins, we break even (except for the laughs), wingnuts lose cash and respect, then try to use some mental defense to make things alright in their confused little heads. And then we laugh some more.
Ya know, if you send SarahPAC all your hard earned cash so she can finish Bristol’s bribe house and pimp out her tax-free cabins, you won’t have any left for pork rinds and beer.
Plan ahead, dude!
Smack MacDougal: You are absolutly right. It’s all about the benjamins. I live in NC and when John Edwards QUIT being our senator after he did not win the ticket with Kerry,I knew that it was all about him. He really didn’t give a rat’s derriere about helping me. And my instinct has proven to be correct. Change the state and the gender and we have the same problem, she is a QUITTER, with the same amount of hubris and narcissim as Edwards. Judging be the recently released emails from Alaska you may be betting on the wrong horse anyway. In the short time she was gov. it appears that she was the frontman but the power was Todd. At least he appears to be a man of few words but lots of action.
HANDPROMPTER ALERT!
Palin is full of FAIL!
It’s time to realize what Sarah Palin really is. A celebrity. A celebrity will do anything to end her 15 minutes. Her embracing the Tea Baggers is proof that she new new hanger-ons to keep her in the spotlight. The speech was a campaign speech that contained nothing but talking points that she is not capable of coming up off her head. No way. Governor Palin, Snooki wants her 15 minutes.
I’ll lay even odds she’ll be on The Celebrity Apprentice by next September.
Wait! First she had to be cleansed of witchcraft by her preacher and now she’s reading palms? So sad. So very sad. Time for another exorcism.
Robert: Thats just so 1600’s of her.Think Salem witch trials. Note to all you mama and daddy witches out there. HIDE YOUR CHILDREN. They are coming for them. Seriously though we should lay off her not using a teleprompter. George used one and look what that got us. So please, I implore you Sarah, keep speaking openly , candidly, and off the cuff. You are our best spokesperson for why you should not be president.
You are really funny. Does that work on the devil herself?
Time for another exorcism.
GET BOBBY JINDAL ON THE PHONE NOW!!!
Sarah should get one of those quarterback play wristbands
And Todd’s on the sidelines signaling plays with hand gestures.
That was about the most painful piece of garbarge I have ever witnessed. And what a fraud….caught cheating. Sarah Palin is absolutely slime.
She only has, ahem, a handful of talking points to begin with. How can she forget the same script she’s been reading for a year and a half?
My question: Could she pass Tancredo’s civics test?
[...] stared at her lady parts, Sarah read scripted answers from the notes scribbled on her hand and Jesus [...]
Why are you dissing Scarah? Didn’t you hear her say 20 times that she’s proud to be an American?
That’s all it took for 1000 loser/ victim /racists to herald Palin as the reincarntion of Ronald Reagan. A room full of people that PAID Palin to attend a POPULIST movement event, how pathetic.
this has to end…really! between emails showing the snowbiling Mr. Mom was really running things to fill Palin family piggybank–the looting of “everyday hardworking Amuricans” via SarahPac,Alaska Fund,PieSky,BSMP LLC shady financial dealings– big time Alaskan graft, cronyism, nepotism, kickbacks–ghostwritten Facebook, Twitter,Going Rogue, and now CAUGHT reading off your hand at $100K events, to answer little league softball Q & A…this is insane! Murdoch,Ailes & Rove are pushing this pseudo-modern day Esther, this phony televangelist/grifter as a viable candidate for POTUS and laughing all the way to the bank…USA! USA!
ITK: And seriously is there anyone in the country that owns property that does not know that if you build a house on that property, you are supposed to call the tax office and pay your taxes. She was the gov. and this is state law. I guess she prayed about it.
I can’t even build a shed without the county getting paid
Funniest thing was that the Palin diatribe was given at the same time the first NASCAR race of the season was going. What’s a good Fuxbot to do??
fastfeat,
Did you come over here from Amanda Terkel’s sad write-up of this or did someone at C&L mention it and it sent you scurrying?
Amanda’s getting ready for her vacation to Winchester, VA, I’m sure, but she writes about this by merely asking the question if Palin had notes on her hand, then boldly directs traffic over here by informing her readers that Oliver is stating that she in fact, did.
Shorter Amanda Terkel: “Hey, I’m only asking. But go check Oliver’s site where he has the same video as I do that doesn’t show anything but he says it’s definite.”
Tag teaming. This is how it’s done in the liberal blogosphere.
Nah dennis, checking out the source and supporting is what we do on the left. Good to see you’re getting around, trying vainly to prop your cretin’s “reputation”. She needs all the help she can get.
I don’t think she does, fastfeat. Good to see your name, btw.
Wasn’t she just reading her own future?!
The comparison between reading from a teleprompter and reading notes from a palm or a notecard that could be in the palm unseen in this image is silly. President Obama’s nonstop prompter reading is a speaking crutch. Whether it makes him more comfortable, has points he doesn’t want to miss, or doesn’t wish to be reading from the podium, this continual use has established the image of speaking inability…that he’s incapable of sharing honest, unscripted information and is little more than a TV news anchor.
Palin’s use of notes on her hand or a card is not unlike many speakers who wish to refer to facts in their notes while speaking before a crowd.
What rock were you hiding under when Obama wiped the floor with the GOP at the debate/Q and A session in Baltimore?
He hardly wiped the floor with anything except yours and Keith Olbermann’s adoration, Jaim.
Did you not see Obama speaking in a sixth grade classroom using teleprompters there?
Here, just in case they don’t show Jon Stewart in South Korea.
Hey Dennis, you’re really helping out the cause:

Obama’s Teleprompter Was For The Press Not 6th Graders (2 Videos)
Link
Who are we to believe, Dennis, you or our lying eyes?
So, why did Faux Snews cut away early from Obama’s meeting with the Republicans last
week, Dennis, if it was such a bad showing for Obama?
You’re getting dumber with each new “Look, over there!” post Dennis, not that there’s anything wrong with that.
As one of the freepers wrote on a thread devoted to the subject:
To: chemicalman
I understand, but this gives lefty blogs ammo to blast us for not checking
Dark Avenger, read what I wrote. He was speaking in a classroom. Bad photo op, as Jon Stewart says, and it’s why you guys are so defensive about it.
Tell me though, why did you go to the trouble to explain this gaffe by the White House but not anywhere close to the same level of discernment about the dubiousness of Oliver’s statement of fact that has no grounding in reality?
Tell me though, why did you go to the trouble to explain this gaffe by the White House but not anywhere close to the same level of discernment about the dubiousness of Oliver’s statement of fact that has no grounding in reality?
Actually, Dennis, you’re the one who made the gaffe here, go to the Hot Air link and see for yourself.
So Bible Spice wasn’t looking into her hand and there’s nothing in her hand, as the Huffington post cited below demonstrates?
Again, who are we to believe, you or our lying eyes?
OMG, Bible Spice? That is so funny.
A link to nowhere. Highly symbolic of Palin and her supporters.
Jon Stewart Mocks Obama for Using Teleprompter in Sixth Grade Classroom
I suppose you’re going to pretend you didn’t know about this and that Stewart blasted Obama for it, right Jaim?
The POTUS used a teleprompter? He must be impeached!
Meanwhile he embarrassed the GOP is a 90 minute off-the-cuff discussion.
Again, I’m supposed to be terrified of the awesomeness of Sarah Palin, a woman who reads every newspaper in the world every morning? And can’t speak for five minutes without crib notes?
You Teabaggers are doing it wrong.
It was a Q&A. The questions had been given to her beforehand and she still had
to write the answers on her hand. Get it? She couldn’t use her notecards to answer
questions she was supposed to have the answers to. Also her notecards were in front of her on the podium.
Yet she still babbled nonsense and got lost.
The teleprompter is just the techy form of reading a speech from cards. All presidents have used it before President Obama so what the hell is this running meme that he’s any different from previous POTUS? I’d think
the President of the United States would want his speeches clear and concise at ALL times.
Of course we know he knows his stuff because he kicked the hell out of a room
full of GOP idiots last week. NO TELEPROMPTER. So lose the Palin whining point.
Or just use your hands–Sarah did.
Go to Mudflats.com for a small photo of her palm.
One thing about a tea bag, the more it stays in hot water, the weaker it becomes. I just hope and pray this group of below-average dissidents is not able to convince others of their ilk to vote for this pinhead. Imagine the Leader of the Free World thinking dinosaurs and people existed simultaneously here on earth. Please!
One thing about a tea bag, the more it stays in hot water, the weaker it becomes.</i.
I am so stealing this.
[...] are sure making fun of Sarah Palin over looking at her hand when she “seemed to forget her next talking [...]
Why are you so obsessed with Sarah Palin?
Sorry. Dennis couldn’t be here. I’m fillin’ in.
LOL. Now I can exhale.
Who are these new fans of yours, Oliver? Are you out recruiting or something. I had no idea there were this many people out there with Sarah Palin fixations.
The word must be getting out that this is the place where they can get their kicks.
February 7, 2010 at 5:44 am
Who are these new fans of yours, Oliver? Are you out recruiting or something. I had no idea there were this many people out there with Sarah Palin fixations.
Got up early to defend her over and over but everyone else is fixated, huh?
I get up early to work out every morning, Marco. Then I check the news.
Then come here to defend Sarah for hours. Makes perfect sense.
That one’ll run you a dozen Krispy Kremes, Den’. Pay up!
She remains the gift that keeps on giving to the Democratic party and hence, America.
Even with crib notes she still utters the phrase “natural sources of resources.”
Just so dumb. Just so perfect a leader for wingnuttia.
I can’t believe you’re falling for this, Jaim. First, she raises her left hand several times before she looks down at her hand and there was nothing on the middle of her palm. She rubbed her leg at least once before that, too. The commentary in the first video clip, whoever wrote that, if it was Oliver or someone else I have no idea, mentioned the leg rub and the leg rub ‘the sequel’, but the commentator didn’t mention the prequel. Why would she rub off a note on her hand before she used it? If she rubbed her leg to get it off, then she did that before she looked down at her hand. This is just not very good investigative journalism on Oliver’s part and he’d be the first guy to criticize James O’Keefe for his questionable journalistic practices.
And she mentions energy resources in every speech, Jaim. Why would she write that down on her hand? That’d be like Oliver writing down Sarah Palin’s name on his palm so he wouldn’t forget to write about her every single day on his blog.
Dennis, you can defend Palin all you want but even if she’s innocent of this she still looks bad because she’s a speaker in the same venue as Joseph Farrah.
Sure, it might be guilt by association but if Obama can be accused of “palling around with terrorist” for his brief acquaintance with Ayers then Palin is fair game IMO.
They’ve got some pretty good screen shots of words on her palm, Dennis.
But your defending a woman who has a “cheat hand” to answer prescreened questions . . .
Sweet, and kinda—I don’t know, pathetic.
The hand is just a distraction. I’m more concerned with the brain. Noticing that she does not sound or appear to be very deep in the intellecual pool by a great deal of people, including myself, is problamatic. To shift the blame to me for noticing is just a trick. I do not want to elect people to positions of high power that are less or of equal intelligence to me, I want them to be smarter.
Seth, my friend, sorry to break it to you, but she is. Intellectually and emotionally.
If Obama were given some of the qualities she has, he’d be telling Harry Reid “It’s a gift, Harry.” For the second time.
If Hillary had just a little bit of her appeal in speaking, she’d be President Hillary Clinton.
My dear God, Dennis, you cannot be serious. That is too stupid, even for you.
Yes, spring chicken, I am serious.
If you can look at Sarah Palin and her actions in politics and see anything but a low-IQ, opportunistic, ambitious fame-whore, then there is no hope for you.
If the drugs you’re on aren’t illegal, you might want to consider marketing them – hallucinogenics can be pricey.
Enjoy your delusions.
she is so funny and deluded. did anyone notice the slip where she substituted alaska for america fourteen minutes in ?
she will never get over the fact that the majority chose a clever mixed race man over her warmongering idiocy-a pity- she could be part of the solution -her self serving denouncing of references to her children closely followed by her trading on her dsabled child is crazy and reminds me of the pompous reporter in the die hard movies
[...] the most hilarious part of all of Talibunny’s performance at the TP convention was the crib-notes scribbled on her hand to aid her during the pre-screened [...]
Please take me out and shot me…It seems they gave her the questions ahead time, and still could not answer the question clearly or concisely, what is wrong with the Tea Party? They wasted all that money on Palin when they could have give to a needy family….go figure
Poobear: Cute name. Good point. The drive of the teabigots and fauxnews is to rule the world, not help the disadvantaged. A rising tide lifts all boats is great for people who have a boat. I never recieved mine how about you.
I guess we should ask our local bank for a loan to buy one.
No I keep looking for it, so thank its not in the cards form but I will keep prying for life boat. I just do not see the appeal, the insight into Paling is her interview with Katie Couric and continuing media Q&A over the year and half, nothing changed…
HAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA
I missed the Tea Party thingy doing better things with my time, but I’m kind of sad that I’ve missed it.
Now that I’m thinking about it why would someone have answers to a question that hasn’t been asked…..unless it was rigged? Hmmmmmmmmm.
This is on her palm:

Hey RepubliKLANS,
Why Palin…no talent Carrie PreJean too busy doing porn?

Here’s another view of the “telepalmter”: http://i.imgur.com/yO5TA.png
Uh, yeah blogs are really going replace the mainstream media. Like you said, you don’t even know what was on her hand.
Awesome. Dennis is going to try and deny she wasn’t using crib notes.
Nothing in these videos makes the case. I’m wondering why Oliver and you are sure, but Amanda Terkel only asks the question. Unless she’s afraid of someone from Fox News asking her directly why she posted that and her stammering like a kid caught with her hand in the cookie jar. Yah, Jaim, I’m wondering why I couldn’t see anything on her palm before she looked down at it and I’m wondering why she’d be rubbing her hand on her knee before she looked down at it. And I’m wondering why she’d need to write a note to mention energy resources since she talks about energy resources all the time.
It’d be like if you wrote down “run away when the going gets tough” on the palm of your hand just for those times when you’re pissed at the world and you need to know what you’ve always done in the past as a reminder as to what to do next.
“And I’m wondering why she’d need to write a note to mention energy resources since she talks about energy resources all the time.”
Because she’s a blithering idiot.
“It’d be like if you wrote down ‘run away when the going gets tough’ on the palm of your hand”
Oliver, I thought you were banning people for this stuff. Wittle Dennis is all in a huff.
Ha.
“Oliver, forget that I blasted you on my blog for banning me and then came back and called you all sorts of names for being an Obama cheerleader and apologist, but would you please ban Dennis for doing the same thing I do and responding to me calling him names? Please, Oliver?”–Jaim
Gawd.
Jaim, I think you need to write down “Beg to Oliver to ban Dennis” on the palm of your hand for those times when you’re embarrassed to death on here.
Have fun with your time off Dennis. It’s kind of scary to think what you’ll do with yourself if you can’t troll here.
Hmmmm.
Why would Sarah have palm crib notes on prescreened questions?
Oh Dennis, you are making this too easy.
And why did she attempt to rub them off? Because the ENTIRE world saw them,
except of course, you.
Leota2, Obama reads entire speeches from a teleprompter. Entire speeches, dear, word for word. She just got done giving a 45 minute speech without a teleprompter. However stupid you think she is and you her intellectual superior, and to each his or her own, but what have you done with your perceived superior intellect that is so much greater than what she’s done in her life?
You’re really going to defend that performance. Come on. Her convention speech was WAY better then this, and guess what, she used a teleprompter. We have seen President Obama read out of just notes on a page, and trust me, his speech is way more coherent then hers was last night. She stumbled multiple times, she lost her place more than once. I don’t get that teleprompter attack simply because it is the most dumbest attack anyone could make. Every President, the Republicans included, have used one. Thats what they are designed for. For speeches to be read off of. And Dennis, at least when Barack Obama has a Q&A session, at least he remembers to study issues, unlike Mrs.Palin, who has to write down notes for a SCRIPTED Q&A!
Oh my Dennis. The “What have you done that’s so much better than Sarah?”
Well for one thing I’ve never written the answers to questions that were given to
me days in advance on my hand.
But really Dennis–Is that all you have? What have I done and Obama read a whole speech off a teleprompter?
Dear–I hate to tell you this but if someone has a written speech, what’s wrong with actually–I don’t know, reading it.
I know that this upsets you and your knee jerk (ha hah) reaction is to defend Sarah no matter
what kind of spectacle she makes of herself; but again— she had crib notes to answer PRESCREENED QUESTIONS.
…and it’s worth noting that reading a teleprompter is a skill in and of itself. A skill that, apparently, Sarah Palin isn’t terribly comfortable with.
It’s absolutely thrilling to watch the trolls on this thread like Dennis try to deny to that Sarah takes notes like a grade school student when we now have photos showing exactly what she wrote. (Huh. Wonder why she crossed out ‘budget’ and wrote ‘taxes’?) It’s so very, very, very stupid looking.
—You have to forgive Dennis. He’s in the throes of ecstatic denial about anything Sarah.
Dennis is only posting with one hand today, that would explain a lot…………..
I’m not in denial about anything about her Leota. I just think someone like you and others here that have obvious fixations with her and need to keep calling her stupid over and over and over have either jealousy issues and their own feelings of inadequacy, or else they are stupid themselves.
If someone at work kept trying to convince that someone else in the office was stupid, the first time I might listen, the second time I would wonder what was the underlying motive of the person repeating it, the third and subsequent times after that I’d really wonder more about the person making the judgment than I would for the person being called stupid. For you and your friends here, it’s not once, or twice, or three times. It’s three hundred times.
It’s like you think no one believes you. Like you doubt yourself and you need more confirmation so that people don’t think you’re crazy.
Sure you are, Dennis, unless you can explain the photo from the Huffington Post demonstrating that she had, indeed, written notes on the palm of her hand.
As John Stuart Mill stated over 144 years ago:
I’ve watched clips of the speech on C-Span where her left hand goes up in the air and that writing isn’t on it, Dark Avenger. Huffpo got that photo from someone on Twitter. Maybe you can explain. And Oliver didn’t have that photo when he made the accusation, or if he did he didn’t post it or mention it. If she wrote that down on her hand after the speech and before she sat down for the interview and wanted to make sure she addressed those topics, a few one word reminders, it’s pretty weak tea for you guys to be all wee-wee’d up about it.
So far, neither you nor one other person on this thread has had enough of an issue with anything she said enough to write about it, so I can conclude she must’ve done fairly well with this speech.
Poor Dennis.
C-Span Clip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7gVp3diPbI&feature=player_embedded
Look real carefully at :59-1:02
Something is on that hand. Look, I know you’re trying to show she is competent, and say that those mean libruls doctored the photo but that dog won’t hunt here. Not when reality is king here.
Wait, wait wait. You’re now suggesting that Bible Spice gave a speech, then decided to write down the talking points for a Q&A *on her hand* after talking? Really banal points at that?
The photo from “someone off of Twitter”, by the way, is courtesy of the AP. Here’s a link to the photo off of AP.com; the watermark makes it less clear, but there’s obviously writing on her hand.
Whatever you see is not what you see from the Huffpo picture the guy there got from someone on Twitter, is it. SlyFox or Matt Hooper?
Can either of you two budding Sherlock Holmes or James O’Keefe’s explain.
It’s not the same as in the video Oliver posted above, either.
Very weak tea.
I’ve watched clips of the speech on C-Span where her left hand goes up in the air and that writing isn’t on it, Dark Avenger.
Well, yeah, because giving a speech with notes in one’s palm means that she has to be staring at them all the time, not just for a minute or two.
Why is she looking at her palm in the screenshot Oliver ran at the top of this thread in the first place?
Why does this video demonstrate some writing in the palm of her hand, Dennis?
Again, who are to believe Dennis, you or that lying Youtube video?
And Oliver didn’t have that photo when he made the accusation, or if he did he didn’t post it or mention it.
Because it’s perfectly normal for someone making a speech to look at their palm from time to time while doing so, and the photo that Oliver ran at the top of the post doesn’t prove anything.
You mentioned the photo that came from Twitter, would an AP photo have a little more credibility for you?
Link
she wrote that down on her hand after the speech and before she sat down for the interview and wanted to make sure she addressed those topics, a few one word reminders,
Except we’ve been hearing from wingnuts such as yourself how Obama can’t perform without a teleprompter, and his encounter with the Republicans last week demonstrated how he performs without not only a teleprompter but without any notes, let along anything written in the palm of his hand.
it’s pretty weak tea for you guys to be all wee-wee’d up about it.
You’re the one pissing your pants and making excuses to the point where you’ve all but admitted that she did, in fact, need notes to get through her Q&A session, minimizing it, of course.
We’re here in the back having a great laugh at the teabaggers and defenders of Caribou Barbie such as yourself, and “Wee-wee” demonstrates more than anything else the mature thought and gravitas that you bring to each post here.
You keep negating the fact that there is obvious writing on her hand. I swear, you are a true red Republican/Conservative because you could spread obvious cowshit on a plate and tell us its Liver Pâté. She basically was looking down at writing on her hand during the Q&A, an OBVIOUSLY staged Q&A!
You can’t win this argument, and you know that. You are outgunned on this one, chief.
“Teabaggers”, Dark Avenger? And you lecture me on maturity.
Dennis is gonna defend his girlfriend until his last breath, then a little more after.
Dennis is gonna defend his girlfriend until his last breath, then a little more after.
No, Oliver, you’ll probably never come to appreciate this, and that’s ok, but I just don’t want to see you go the tragic way of Andrew Sullivan and his bark-at-the-moon insanity over Sarah Palin.
He had his editors step to save him; probably too late though.
And it seems your followers are too timid to tell you.
Dennis–I believe were are all responding to the evidence that Sarah is challenged.
What are you responding to?
It seems very personal and heart wrenching for you to even admit that she committed
a bonehead move. But never mind–it’s all over. Pull the covers up over your head
and say three times– “They hate Sarah ’cause THEY’RE dumb.”
Leota2, in your unbiased and objective opinion, was it boneheaded of Obama to say “corpseman” three times as he read it off the teleprompter?
Now, now, Dennis. I’ve asked you before – if you’re going to try and throw up an irrelevant issue to distract from the actual issue at hand, please incorporate a LOLcat. It’ll be a lot more entertaining for everyone in general, and might even actually get some people off track instead just looking like the same tired rhetorical device you always pull out in these situations. A little more effort, please? Kthxbai.
It’s probably best if you take Matthew’s advice so we are all on alert when you pull your “looky, looky over here”
party trick (that interestingly enough never seems to work).
Okay that’s it for you Dennis. You’ve been a nice cat toy, but I need some coffee.
Hey, Dennis, if it was good enough for Cavuto to use the term, it’s good enough for me:
Link
You might want to send Neil an e-mail, telling him he needs to stop using such insulting language………..
We’ve got anger and denial. Acceptance?
Hey Stupid, We are calling you stupid because it appears that you do not listen to PRESIDENT Obama’s speeches, and you appear to be listening to every word palin reads off of her palm. Maybe you could go to her house and she can show you where Russia is.
Maybe the word for you is not stupid, because you keep trying to write as if you were intelligent. Maybe the word for you is “Follower” because you think palin is in with the in crowd. Her in crowd is the lunatic fringe that insists on talking lies and not facts. We here are trying to decide if you are truly that stupid or just that ruthless. Either way she is a loser. I am not jealous of her, I pity her, but I am very concerned for the country because people like her and Ruch are actually gathering followers. This means, my dear, that people have become so hardened by power and the holy dollar, that they are willing to follow a leader with absolutely no ability to empathize with anyone but the rich and famous.
You sound like a person who has been a follower for quite some time. I also feel bad for you.
Rambling, incoherent nonsense, Sue.
You couldn’t debate your way out of a brown paper bag.
And you sound like you get your talking points from B-list Hollywood actors that show up on Bill Maher’s show. You actually believe Palin said she could see Russia from her house; that what they say on the SNL spoofs is actually true.
Just cleaned the GOP’s clock without a teleprompter. Made you shit you diapers.
I asked you once what this supposed clock-cleaning by Obama ended up netting him or the Democrats besides an unjustified and childish bravado on your part, and you had no substantive reply, Jaim.
Obama’s approval numbers are now lower than before they were when he gave the SOTU speech and delivered this in-your-mind-only Republican smack-down that you think will be the beginning of his come-back tour.
Again, since you keep repeating just how awesome and inspirational his Q&A was, what was gained? Now he wants to work with the Republicans to get something through, so it seems the Repubicans will be the ones coming out ahead. And if that’s the case, it was a pretty sly move on their part making you and the rest of the liberal nation led by kos and Olbermann and that MSNBC Special Report on it, think he got the better of them.
Now I know how this idiot made it through college. Well honed cheating techniques. Probably also explains why it took 6 years and 5 colleges. She could only stay at each college a short while because the profs were getting suspicious. Time to take her credits and move on. Eventually accumulated enough to kluge together a degree.
Someone tell Katie Couric the question has been answered. S.P. reads her hand.
Sarah using her Palm-O-Prompter.

Can I re-introduce the notion that the presence or absence of hand-notes did not in any way improve the utter, pathetic inanity of her pseudo-commentary?

If she had notes, it’s even sadder, because it’s scripted standard vapid Palinist weirdo hostile right wing mythologizing bullshit.
She’s used the analog Palm Pilot before!
What was most offensive to me wasn’t just that she was reading notes off her hand, it’s that she had been given the questions in advance. Did you notice that in most cases she started answering before the host had finished asking the question.? At no time did she take a second to think. She just jumped right in with her planned response. But even using her written speech and reading it aloud, she still got off track a few times and seemed to lose her place and lose her thoughts. The “speech” was mostly mean-spirited knocks on other people…very little original thought and concrete ideas for how to fix the nation’s problems. It was not the caliber of speech you would expect as the keynote of a major political party. If she is a candidate, she spends most of her time mocking her opponents without anything to set her apart. Where’s the beef, Sarah?

I found it interesting that in her hillbilly teleprompter, she had to remind herself to “Lift America’s spirit”.
Hmm. What would happen to a Democratic presidential hopeful who got caught at a speech/Q&A with crib notes written down on their hand? I believe that would be the end of their viability as a candidate, would it not? Why does Sarah Palin get a pass with Republicans for this?
Obama just did 2 Q&A sessions, speaking without notes, and the consensus is that he got the better of the House Republicans in the first one. He’s operating at a much higher level, frankly, than ex-Gov. Palin. Why do Republicans idolize candidates who honestly aren’t all that bright?
Because Republicans themselves aren’t all that bright. Honestly. We can see that every damn time Denise posts its drivel here.
That is the awesomest cheat sheet I’ve ever seen. 1) Tax 2) Energy 3) Lift American Spirits. She needed to write down the two major conservative talking points in order to remember them? Can we assume the other palm read 4) smile 5) breathe 6) blink now and then?
Why do Republicans idolize candidates who honestly aren’t all that bright?
As a badge of honor against snooty elitist wimps.
It is kinda snooty and elitist, Parthy. Have you ever gone into a high level meeting, answered questions when asked, and afterwards wished you had said something you had forgotten to say? Writing something down on her hand is the kind of thing any normal person would expect would be natural to a mother of five kids. That same normal person wouldn’t say the same thing about a president who uses a teleprompter in a sixth grade classroom or pronounces ‘corpsman’ by not making the ‘p’ a silent one, and who rarely speaks without one. It’s been over a week now since the day he didn’t use one and you guys haven’t stopped orgasming over it.
And if we were talking about her as a “mother of 5 kids with an opinion on political matters”, that might be one thing. But she’s being offered up as a potential presidential candidate and policy heavyweight–and writing crib notes on their palms is something people don’t really expect to see in a serious political candidate and/or policy heavyweight. They expect them to have things committed to memory, and/or to be so proficient with policy matters that they can address hard questions off the cuff and rebut opposition talking points with grace and rhetorical flourish. If there was video of Obama checking his palm during that Q&A session, the howls of derision from the right would be loud and seemingly endless–they’d be bringing it up 5 years later.
Who’s offering her up? Pretty early to be judging her on a potential 2012 run at this point, don’t you think? Not too much earlier than this point before the 2008 elections Obama was saying he was too inexperienced to run for President. He said he was a believer in knowing what you’re doing when you apply for a job.
Truer words.
Indeed.
And yet you seem to persist in thinking Palin would be up for the job.
I know you used the weaselly qualifier ’seem’, but do you have a link to where I said that, Mr. Martin? Or where it seems that I said that.
Now, now, Dennis. Let’s play by your rules. You have to prove me wrong that no time, nowhere did you question her presidential readiness.
You’re a weasel, Sean.
You made a claim, now back it up.
Why should anyone take you seriously if you just type stuff you have no clue is true or that you just pulled out of your ass? And I mean from way down in there, too.
Wait, Dennis, you’re actually arguing that you have never, at any time, suggested that Palin was qualified to be president?
I don’t know if you have or haven’t. I just think it’s weird that you’re so completely defensive about it. “Prove it! Where have I ever said Palin would be a good president? Where?!?!?!”
You’re reacting to Sean like a 4th grade boy who just heard someone say he liked a girl: “Shut up! I do not like Missy! You can’t prove it!”
At the same time I have to ask, do you really think it’s too early to assess whether Palin would be a good president?
You do know that she already ran for vice-president and that one of the roles of the vice-president is to be president, if something happened to his or her boss, right?
Did you not give any thought whatsoever to her qualifications to be president during the 2008 campaign?
Do you really think a couple more years of will give you an answer? WTF do you expect Sarah Palin to do in the next two years that would give you more insight into who she is and how she would govern?
She quit her job as governor of Alaska so you’re not going to see her do much actual governing between now and then.
Is there something about being a Fox News contributor that will give her the seasoning she needs to be president?
What could Sarah Palin possibly do in the next two years that will tell you whether she would be a good president that you didn’t already know when you voted for her to be vice-president, a heart beat a way from the job you refuse now to even speculate on her qualifications for.
You really are weird.
Is your hypocrisy meter broken, Dennis?
Dennis: You made a claim, now back it up.
Gee, Dennis. Was I not clear that I was using your standard? I provided a link any everything. Are you now saying it’s up to the commenter to back up their claims? Because that’s the opposite of what you said last time. when you said last time it was up to me to provide support for what you said.
Why should anyone take you seriously if you just type stuff you have no clue is true or that you just pulled out of your ass?
You looking in the mirror again, Dennis? Because I don’t know if you mean that literally, or would believing you to stand by what you say would a mistake again.
Hahahaha pwned. Nice job, Sean.
Thankee.
I’m really starting to wonder if Dennis is just having us all on.
Yes! I have been in high level meetings with my Vice Presidents and Directors of my organization and had Q&A at the end of my presentation. I anticipated 90% their questions, another 10% was able articulate my answers and for those questions I had no answer, I would inform the person or persons, I would find an answer and do a follow-up. What everyone trying to show you is their point view. It is obvious to the laming that she received the question ahead time, instead studying and prepping for Q&A. she chose to do the unthinkable buy showing the world her weakness. It would be different if this was her first time doing Q&A, but it is not, she continues to make the same mistakes over and over. Palin is self-serving it all about the dollars for her and she really not an intelligent person, she should not be a role model for young women, she is a bad influence for many reasons.
Those of you who’ve made it a cause to defend Sarah, I don’t envy you. At times she seems determined to see just how far you’ll go.
cheating?…’reign in”? (it’s rein in)…three reminders o points she wants to make? not a big deal…it’s not as though she is lost if the teleprompter goes out, like bHObama…or like she can’t pronoune (twice) corps(e)-mam…like BHObama….
More than 150 comments on someone noone cares about…
Gov Palin, FTW!!!

Oh, we care about her, Frank N. Furter. Because if this stupid, mangy bitch somehow gets into the Oval Office, WE ARE FUCKED.
150 comments about how jaw-droppingly stupid someone in public does not constitute a “win” in my book. Politicians are supposed to lead, not be famous.
It’s like saying how delicious the bread was after finishing a huge shit sandwich.
MARCO FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!
“Gov” Palin? Frank, I don’t know if you got the memo, but she bailed on that gig awhile ago. Too much work, too much pressure, not enough loot.
Face it- her hypocrisy aside, if Obama got caught doing something so monumentally childish and silly, you guys would be having an absolute field day.
Plus, now that we can see them, they’re the stupidest fucking lil’ Cliff’s Notes imaginable. I could almost understand it if her palm had reminders like, “Community Development Block Grant program, 1974″– but “energy“? “Tax“?? “Lift American Spirits“????
What didn’t make the cut here? “Breathe”? “Smile”? “Wink like a sociopath”?
Seriously, how has she made it this far without once reading “Pause for applause” out loud?
But, anyhow, it’s Sarah, so you guys have to retreat to all your well-established fall back positions:
-We’re obsessing over her
-We’re just scared of her
-She’s famous an’ on the same TV what sold you your Sham-Wow and we’re not so we’re just jealous losers, and of course….
- a healthy dose of Obama misdirection, even though you guys totally don’t obsess over him.
Plus, I wouldn’t exactly go by comment count; close to 20 of them are by a certain guy who absolutely positively cannot believe how much anyone else obsesses over Sarah.
Oh, I believe how much you guys obsess over her. If it wasn’t her, believe me, it would be something else just as silly.
And this one ranks up there pretty high on the silly meter.
It’s ’silly’ that she had to write “Energy, tax cuts, and lift the American spririt” on her palm? What, she couldn’t remember those three things in her little brain?? Is it also ’silly’ that she excused her trusted leader for using the word retarded, but wants Emanuel to STEP DOWN?!?! ‘Silly’, huh?
Wow.
You’re kinda the one that’s silly, Jen7. And not too bright:
Palin Camp Rips Limbaugh, Hits His “Retard” Comment As “Crude And Demeaning”
Sargent is a liberal blogger, too, so have no excuse of only reading far left blogs for your incorrect information.
Palin with Chris Wallace:
WALLACE: Should Rush Limbaugh apologize?
PALIN: They [liberals] are kooks, so I agree with Rush Limbaugh. Rush Limbaugh was using satire to bring attention to what the politically correct…
WALLACE: … he used the ‘R’ word.
PALIN: …. [he was] using satire. Name-calling by anyone — I teach this to my children, you teach it to your children and your grandchildren, too. Name-calling by anyone, it’s just unnecessary.
Wow, she really took to Rush.
Wow, are you for real? lol What part of ‘I made excuses for Rush on Fox News this morning’, do you NOT understand?
You’re nothing but a troll.
Dennis, conservatives don’t do political correctness. For every Palin shhhing “retard” there are hundreds of conservatives calling them “Libtards”.
Not me, timmy.
I use the inoffensive and politically correct ‘far left loons’ as a sign of respect to the opposition currently screwing up our country.
Some hunters taking offense to that one.
You didn’t read the update did you?
http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/terrorism/the-morning-plum-64/
Of course I did, fafaroo. I know you’re always out there lurking like old man who can’t control his peeping tom urges.
This is what Jen7 said “Is it also ’silly’ that she excused her trusted leader for using the word retarded, but wants Emanuel to STEP DOWN?!?! ‘Silly’, huh?
She didn’t excuse him. She tempered her rebuke from what she said at first, but she did rebuke what he said. Jen7 made it appear that she only excused him, which was incorrect. It’s the same way you would argue, just as I did, had I tried something like that.
You’re slipping, fafaroo.
Badly.
You are either in total denial of facts or intentionally being obtuse.
He’s both, Jen. Dennis would have us believe that Sarah Palin is courageous champion of core principles. He thinks that the post he linked to proves this because in it palin is proven to take on Limbaugh, the real leader of the Republican party and the conservative movement. Of course Palin did criticize Limbaugh specifically at first. Thenshifted gears to say that she did notcriticize Limbaugh specifically, but rather stated a general position aimed at no one, in particular.
Far from an act of courage the update exposes Palin as the cowardly hypocrite she is. But Dennis is a true beliver, not to mention a moron.
Far from an act of courage the update exposes Palin as the cowardly hypocrite she is. But Dennis is a true beliver, not to mention a moron.
Palin didn’t take the bait to make this about Limbaugh, but rather about Rahm Emanuel, where it started and where the focus should be. She knows you guys are sitting at home at your computers just licking your chops to see her and Limbaugh get into a back and forth on this so people will forget that Emanuel called fellow Democrats ‘fucking retards’.
No, fafaroo, it’s you being the cowardly hypocrite here. Jen7 made an incorrect statement and I corrected her just as you would if I had made the same fallacious statement or similar she did about a Democrat who had rebuked someone and then when asked about it later not been as forceful in her rebuke so as to let the distraction die. Once again, you prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that you can’t argue honestly. Forget objectivity or even applying the same standards to yourself as you do to me, you can’t even be honest with yourself.
Palin didn’t take the bait to make this about Limbaugh, but rather about Rahm Emanuel, where it started and where the focus should be.
Wait, what? I thought the focus should be on the use of the word no matter who uses it. That’s the “core principle” here isn’t it?
And Emanuel is far from the worst offender between the two. Yes, he used the word and it was inappropriate. So he apologized.
Limbaugh was on the radio declaring that it was, in fact, a perfectly fine word and should be used without regard for anyone’s feelings especially when the word so accurately describes some people (in his example, Democrats). Here’s what he said:
If Palin really cared about use of the word, she should have been ready and willing to shift the focus from Emanuel to Limbaugh, because Limbaugh was actually advocating use of the word in a backhanded defense of Emanuel.
Instead, she decided it was not in her best political interest to take on Limbaugh and so denied ever criticizing him directly.
And remember, Dennis, you cited this headline as evidence that Jen was wrong:
But Palin’s people now say that this headline is inaccurate and a distortion of what Palin’s initial response was. And since you claim you read the update before posting, that means you knowingly posted a headline that you already knew Palin was disowning and describing as inaccurate and a distortion. What are we supposed to call that?
What are we supposed to call that?
Typical?
Wow, closing in on 40 posts in this one thread in less just over 24 hours, Dennis…. holy shit, it’s a good thing you’re not obsessed with Palin- you’d probably crash teh whole fucking interwebs.
As has already been mentioned, Palin’s camp (not her own personal facebook account, of course) offered a tepid criticism of people-who-use-the-word-retard-but-not-Rush-specifically-oh-can-you-please-underline-that-and-add-seven-exclamation-points-at-the-end-so-people-know-we-really-really-really-don’t-mean-Rush. So let’s not pretend that was significant.
Now then, to establish our control, here’s an example of “retard” used satirically, courtesy of “There’s Something About Mary”:
Pat Healy: Really, it’s only a side thing for my true passion.
Mary: And what’s that?
Pat Healy: I work with retards.
Mary: Isn’t that a little politically incorrect?
Pat Healy: Yeah, maybe, but hell, no one’s gonna tell me who I can and can’t work with.
See, here, the specific term “retard” is used not to insult another person’s abilities or intelligence, but to demonstrate the abject social awkwardness of the character who utters it. He’s so clueless that he uses the most crude, offensive term available to describe the ’special’ folks he’s professing to love.
And non-satirically…
“Our political correct society is acting like some giant insult’s taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, retards. I mean these people, these liberal activists are kooks. They are looney tunes. And I’m not going to apologize for it, I’m just quoting Emanuel. It’s in the news. I think their big news is he’s out there calling Obama’s number one supporters f’ing retards. So now there’s going to be a meeting. There’s going to be a retard summit at the White House.”
*snip*
“You know, here’s the thing. If you want to look at how this is broken down, Emanuel compares Democrat activists to retarded people, then apologizes to retarded people. Not to the Democrats.
Normally if you call somebody a retard, you apologize to them for calling them a retard. But he has apologized to the retarded people for daring to lump them with Democrats. It’s hilarious. So in an effort, ladies and gentlemen, to quell rising questions about the endless apologies necessary from Democrats, Obama is taking a short bus, little yellow bus full of “retards” — “F-ing retards” — to Las Vegas for the weekend.”
And again, let’s keep in mind a portion of Palin’s response:
“They [liberals] are kooks, so I agree with Rush Limbaugh. Rush Limbaugh was using satire to bring attention to what the politically correct…”
So, where’s the satire? He’s literally agreeing with Rahm Emmanual’s usage of “retards”- as a derogatory epithet mocking the intellectual capacity of members of liberal interest groups. The difference is that Emmanual used it once, as a heated, off-the-cuff remark in a closed door meeting five months ago, whereas Limbaugh says it in a prepared, calculated, irony-free way many times, to his audience of 10 million listeners.
Also, Sarah’s mouth is running a few cycles ahead of her brain, because you’d really have to parse her reply generously to come up with more than, “No, no– he called people who are kooks ‘retards’, and since I agree with him that those people aren’t too bright it’s ok”.
I’m also curious as to where she was going with the whole “what the politically correct…” bit, because:
Hey Sarah: psssssssst…. you’re the one who’s demanding political correctness here. You. You started this. I know your prodigious mental facilities are embroiled in a sloppy defense of Limbaugh here, but can you please keep track of your original role in all of this? Maybe jot it down on your hand? It’s like watching a not-particularly-swift dog chase its own tail.
And later, of course, Rush pulls the well-creased victim card out of his ample back pocket:
“You’ve gotta cut me some slack. I’ve been here 20-plus years. You’ve got to know that I know that that’s a pejorative comment. It’s the reason I kept repeating it is to never let people forget that it was Rahm Emanuel who said it. It’s like Harry Reid and the Negro dialect, I kept talking about that, “Yeah, he’s light-skinned and he doesn’t speak with a Negro dialect except when he wants to.” And sure enough the next day I caught grief as though I had originated the comment. That’s the way the press works.”
No Rush, you’re repeating it because you think Rahm has bought you a little window here where you can be juvenile and call as many people as you want ‘retards’, intentionally associating them with the negative traits implied by the pejorative, the same exact way Rahm used it. And thanks to your not-too-bright listener base, you can shrug off all criticism as “satire”, even though your usage of the word doesn’t match the loosest criteria for defining it as such.
Retards.
(That was satire, so it’s cool)
I know, I know… you’re rubber and we’re glue… waaaaaay ahead of you.
Two things you cannot change:
1) This is silly. Delightfully silly. The majority of the people here are enjoying a hearty laugh at your beloved Sarah’s expense, and no amount of spin or distraction is going to salvage her dignity on this one.
2) You can protest all you want, but your actions speak louder than words. 20 posts on this thread and counting- you just cannot let this go. If we’re the obsessed ones- and you’re the calm, well-adjusted voice of reason- then walk away. As you’ve said, this is silly and insignificant. There’s nothing to defend here.
Walk away. Can you? I sure can… I’ve had my laugh, and now it’s time to get outside, hit the gym, and get ready for the Super Bowl. Unplug, Dennis… Sarah’s going to be just fine without you.
Amen
What really got my ire up last night was when she said “we need a Commander in Chief, and not a Law Professor.”
This, from the one who QUIT her post in Alaska. Who’s to say she wouldn’t do the very same thing when things got tough in the White House?
I sometimes have a hard time understanding the Palin worship…and then I remember that these are the very same people who embraced Bush II and Dan Quayle. Simple themes, simple messages, for simple (narrow) minded people.
JK .. that was from her Facebook notes… nothing original OR accurate in her ’speech’

“Middle school”? Man, you’re being to generous. Remember the old joke about wrestling fans (“What has 14 teeth and an IQ of 50?”)? Applies equally well to the teabaggers.
Oh Dennis the punk-ass bitch. Defends Sarah to the end. Makes threats of physical violence then shits himself when we call him on them. Incapable of starting his own blog.

From the Freeper thread on this:
“Actually, when you find me at the next Tea Party, check my palm … I intend to write those things there so I will REMEMBER the basics. I won’t need a TelePrompTer or a speech writer … just remember those three things and I’ll have a “position” to defend and attain. Good for her.”
Oh my god! Stupid People wearing signs warning people how stupid they are? Finally you’ll be able able to identify stupid people without reading their bumper stickers.
She can’t remember “Energy. Tax. Lift America’s spirits”? She’s stupider than I though she was.
I have very mixed feelings about Andrew Sullivan but here’s his take (with an excellent picture of Sarah’s crib notes):

Best pic I’ve seen of the “cheat sheet” so far.

I love how the stupider she gets (CAN YOU BELIEVE SHE KEEPS GETTING DUMBER!!) the more her ignorant base loves her. I can’t seem to understand why the right seems to love ignorace, is it because when their leaders are ignorant, it makes them feel like they really are one of them? Seems to me the only explanation. I am gonna throw a rock in the road with a string attached to it. On the other end of that stick I will have a notecard that simply says, “Freedom/Hopey-Changey/Drill/Consitution” on one side. I bet that rock becomes their new leader. No joke, I really believe that’s how dumb they are.
BTW, in my office, everyone uses powerpoint when they make their presentations. Should I start laughing at them all and making fun of them for all using powerpoint? I mean, can I call my boss the “Powerpointer-in chief”? Sounds kind of stupid when it’s put that way, doesn’t it?
I mean, can I call my boss the “Powerpointer-in chief”?
You can, especially if you wish to entertain your colleagues. I counsel you not to do so to his/her face.
she so stupid its unreal! McCain had to be out of his mind to pick this stupid b to run with him! writing notes on her hand is like cheating in high school for God’s sake!!! number than dog shit she is!!!!
This is so silly and what’s pathetic was someone taking the time to make videos of nothing.
Ha! McClatchy is quoting her today as saying she’s grateful to have “so much good information at my fingertips”!
No lie!

Stupid, Sarah – can’t she remember anything? Not like Obama who…oh wait. Hum…maybe it’s Andrea Mitchell who is stupid to point out how stupid Palin is because doesn’t need a tele-promter?
Andrea Mitchell just lost credibility – not only for herself but for the whole love-fest, Obama lovin’ media circus. No wonder nobody believes the news!
LOL!!!
This is just what SNL needed….new Sarah Palin material…I can’t wait to see the show!
I think it would benefit most of you, who have posted raving opinions on both sides of the political line to read an albeit LONG, however, substantial post by “Rachel.” – Kudos my friend. You point out inarguable truths, not rantings, or diluted perceptions. Obviously there are some personal opinions, but they are presented in a way as not to provoke… Maybe that is why no one has commented on “her” post?
Change……. Thats all this pres will leave in your pocket. Bush had issues. But he didn’t create the housing mess were in. Clinton devalued the roof your living under. Live within your means.
Please, Sarah Palin is the pet rock of this decade. She will never hold high public office and she will most certainly be the source of her own undoing. She is transparently phony and obviously lacking in any intellectual capability. Move on, nothing more to see here.

Obama’s sleight of hand:
http://www.usnews.com/blogs/peter-roff/2010/02/02/obamas-not-so-secret-plan-to-raise-taxes-.html
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704533204575047720489119784.html
To sum up these articles, the proposed budget does increase taxes for all of us by taxing your healthcare benefits at work, the energy tax (still in proposal) and increase in capital gains tax to name just a few. His proposal to tax only the “rich” (families over $250k, individuals over $200k) by his own admission would raise only $700B over 10 YEARS. The rest of the 1.8 TRILLION per year in revenue he needs to generate is going to come from “backdoor” taxes that may only partially show up on the FICA line of your W-2, but certainly will impact your pocket book as the increased taxes on energy and other businesses are passed on to all consumers in the form of price increases. In the end, we ALL end up paying more taxes. (FYI – he is also laying claim to a tax cut that was enacted by Bush and just left in place by Obama. He is letting the top two brackets’ cuts expire along with some ancillary cuts (death tax, capital gains, etc) that are not limited to a particular income bracket. The only people you’ll hear saying Obama is responsible for the “biggest tax cut ever” is Obama and folks like MediaMatters – an outlet for the DNC, which consistently conveniently forgets to mention ALL of the facts on any single issue if it disagrees with their political agenda. Note that both of the links I reference are from sources that were supportive of Obama during his campaign, so it clearly is not “Republican fodder”.
Hmm, if you tax the rich until they are no longer rich; who will you tax then to support the poor? I made right at $250k last year, for 2009 I paid $67,000 in Fed Tax(including an AMT amount), $7,900 in State income tax, $6,621 in SS, $3,635 in Med. I paid $5,700 in property tax on a 2Br 1 bath, 50 year old house in a working class suburb. An “effective” tax rate of roughly 36%. I also pay 10%+/- sales tax on every retail purchase depending on which suburb/county I happen to be in. Every “service bill” i.e. phone, cable, internet, cell phone, plane ticket, movie ticket, hotel bill, etc. etc. is packed with fees/taxes and who knows what else. Yes, I have a comfortable living and yes I am still blessed with a job, but I have worked for this all of my life, I worked my way through college and graduate school. Just how much do you want the “supposed rich” to pay? I do not have a rich “government guaranteed defined pension plan”, I have to fund my own IRA and investments.
Oh yeah, Sarah Palin is enjoying her “15 minutes of fame” and serves a great entertainment value, but she poses no threat to our country. I wish I could say the same for our current “leadership” in Washington.
Palin READ her speech from written text laying on the podium. Watch the speech on YouTube. She spends most of her time looking downward as she reads her speech, raising her eyes to look at the crowd less than half the time. How is this different from a teleprompter?? And this whole story has nothing to do with notes written on her hand. She is not even close to being capable of delivering a long, detailed speech from ten words written on her hand. I repeat: SHE READ THE SPEECH. WATCH THE VIDEO. How is the whole world missing this??????
she wrote on her hand? she was stroking the shaft of the microphone! and nobody objected.

Hilarious but scary: Palin with the nuke codes written on her hand: http://tilt-o-rama.com/palinnuke.jpg
Oops. Let me try that again.
Adviser to Palin: “Sarah, this isn’t exactly what I had in mind when I asked you if you wanted to use digital media during your speech….”
