Hypochondria much?
Toyota is screwed. Tens of billions of dollars over a 1 in a million defect. Anybody remember this happening to Audi about 20 years ago?
Alternative explanation – when you gas pedal is always stuck on, you use the brakes more..
This would be a nothing story except for unrelated recall. “Dozens” of customers complained? There is probably a million or more Prius on the road. I challenge any volume manufacturer not to have a dozen complaints out of millions made.
yeah, the Audi5000 (?) issue….had a next-door neighbor that whacked their garage-door when the accelerator floored when shifting to ‘D’.
The real problem here isn’t that Toyota had a problem, but how they chose to handle the problem. that ‘handling’ opened Pandora’s Box, and now they’re well and truly hosed.
hope they can pull this out—I have a Prius (works fine, thankyouverymuch), and don’t want to see Toyota bite it figuratively, before I manage to pay it off or run out the Warranty…..
