Government Intervention Was Needed To Push Toyota Recall

Remember, giant corporations are always looking out for us and we don’t need a big nanny state government. Also, tax cuts

Toyota did not agree to recall millions of its vehicles that have potentially dangerous accelerators until after his department had extensive discussions with the automaker, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood tells NPR.

‘We persuaded them that it was in their best interests, but more importantly in the interests of the driving public … to find a fix for these vehicles,’ LaHood said on Talk of the Nation a short time ago.

Oh come on now…this is obviously something the free market would’ve taken care of if a few thousand more people had been allowed to die!

It’s almost *never* in a Corporation’s best interest to admit to Malfeasance or Malpractice….Doing the Right Thing after you screw up royally tends to be *very* expensive and bad for shareholder dividends…

Toyota should be pimp-slapped all the way up the street—they need to be reminded that doing business in the USA is a privilege, not a Right, and part of the privilege is that they remedy their problems as immediately as possible, not when it’s financially advantageous to their bottom line…

Lets not forget the numerous “recalls” that have happened to many other cars prior. Lets also not forget that our U.S Government practically owns General Motors and that the U.A.W (Auto Union) also funded most of Obamas presidential Campaign. Lets also not forget that Thousands of American families are happily employed in America by Toyota. Do you think the U.A.W would have resentment towards Toyota for being a “NonUnion” company and not needing hundreds of millions of Taxpayers “Handouts”? Ford,& Honda, might be the next target. Ps. I drive a Mercedes, that had a recall last year to replace a part on the underside (took 4 hours) but wasnt publicized at all.
