Don’t draft this man.

Florida QB Tim Tebow struggled during Saturday’s Senior Bowl but said he is open to modifying his passing motion as he attempts to move to the NFL this spring.

Tebow, playing for the South in its 31-13 loss to the North at the college all-star game, was 8-for-12 for 50 yards. He fumbled twice — on consecutive plays — and ran four times for 4 yards.

  1. Senior Bowl, not Pro Bowl. He’s not a pro, and being an all-star is still a long, long way off.

10 to 1 the Redskins draft this one.

well oliver does seem to think that jason campbell is expendable because there are so many obviously better quarterbacks available.

  4. Max Reddick says:

The hype is strong with this one. The University of Florida has a history of turning out QB’s who excel at the college level, but then fizzle out in the pros. I certainly hope Tebow is successful; however, I really think he should go ahead and switch positions or risk going the way of Wuerful, who actually won the Heisman, or Leake.

The University of Florida Heisman Trophy has a history of turning out honoring QB’s who excel at the college level, but then fizzle out in the pros.

Fixed. (Best I can tell from http://www.heisman.com, the last QB to win the Heisman and to subsequently be inducted into the NFL HOF was Roger Staubach, about a half century ago).

“Willis Fails In Accurately Describing Senior Bowl”

Oliver Willis struggled during an attempt to sack Tim Tebow’s performance in Saturday’s Senior Bowl. Willis went 0 for 1 on the day. Willis may have all but crushed his hopes of making the bigs.

  7. Jeff Fecke says:

To be fair to the Heisman, Vinny Testaverde had a successful NFL career. So did Doug Flutie. And Carson Palmer is an effective NFL quarterback.

That said, Tim Tebow doesn’t resemble Testaverde or Palmer; his closest Heisman doppelganger is Eric Crouch. And I expect Tebow to have the same sort of NFL career.

And then, Baby Jesus will cry.

  8. jr says:

Tim Tebow will probably end up as a senator introducing coat hanger-centric bills

  9. Jaim says:

I can’t stand the guy but hey, it’s bad karma to wish ill on his career prospects. But he doesn’t have the stuff to be an NFL-style pocket passer, and I doubt there’s enough time to re-train him into a tight end or something like that.

ok O. 1) I HATE YOU!!!!! 2) I watched the Senior Bowl. EVERY South QB was under pressure the entire game. The line collapsed on almost EVERY play. Tim would turn on a play action and someone was in his face. One of the fumbles was 100% his fault. The other was due to the collapsed line and no protection. He did short hop a pass but relatively looked ok, not great, under center. Keep in mind, he picked up what he did after 4 years in a system that doesn’t promote being under center. Now saying that, and you know me, I gave Tim a C+. To show how much hope there is out there for Tim to fail, Tony Pike (Cin.) looked just as bad if not worse. lower completion percentage, less yards and was pressured just as much.

  11. unllaw:
What do you think he’s going to face every Sunday in the NFL? He’s going to be blitzed like crazy.

  12. unllaw says:

that was a terrible response. Yes Tim will face that every Sunday only points out how people are rooting for him to fail. Other QB’s looked just as bad if not worse and some didn’t even bother to show up (Colt McCoy). You can’t evaluate someone of off one game. People knew going into the week that he didn’t play under center as his system didn’t call for it. So to say after one game that he cannot play under center is kind of jumping the gun. Notice the lack of criticism of Bradford and McCoy. Florida exposed Bradford for a above average QB once pressure if put on him. Teams carried that forward into this year until he got hurt. Not to mention when he finally played a team that had a defense he couldn’t produce in the clutch. He looked great after playing in the no defense Big 12. As for McCoy, the same criticism of playing in the Big 12 applies. I would even argue that McCoy is better than Bradford yet the ‘experts’ think Bradford is all that and a bag of chip.

hahaha, jr. I am a bad person for thinking that’s hilarious.

  14. Jaim says:

Is Tebow the strongest and most accurate passer in the next draft?

    Survey sez, nope.

I’m not saying teams should ignore him, but taking him in the first round is a huge risk. And that’s before you get to the bigger questions of whether or not he’s capable of being a productive pocket passer.

  15. Parthenon says:

Anything higher than the third round is a waste of a pick.

  16. SteveAudio says:

But, but, I thought he had God on his side?

I mean, if you believe, you can’t fail. Ask Sarah Pa…, oh, never mind.

  17. Fred says:

If he walked off the field and quit in the middle of a play, THEN he would be comparable to Sarah da quitter.

  18. bikelib says:

He’ll be drafted somewhere in rounds 4-5 and end up as an H-back/back-up tight end. Think a poor-man’s Dallas Clark (Go Hawkeyes!)
