Update: Via Political Carnival, John Harwood reports that Pelosi has 218 votes for the bill in the house…

I’m seeing reports that Speaker Pelosi is now saying there are votes in the House to pass the Senate version of health care reform.

A new poll by CNN and Opinion Research, taken from January 22 to January 24, shows that 69 percent of respondents say Congress should dump the current Democratic health care proposals and either write an entirely new health bill or stop working on the subject altogether……

  5. Pretty thin gruel, especially when almost half of opposition to these bills has been from the left, saying that they don’t go far enough.

    They’ve completely failed to provide real reform which the majority of the country wants. They tossed aside the “public option” which a majority of the country was in favor of.

    They utterly failed to lead when the country voted them into historically high majorities in both changers of Congress.

    Of course they’re tone deaf.
