Blanche Lincoln, Mary Landrieu Join Republican Effort To Make The Environment Worse

2:22 pm EST January 21st, 2010 | Uncategorized | 12 Comments

Lincoln and Landrieu are two of the Democrats who have joined with Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski in an effort to curb the EPA’s rules on greenhouse gas emissions. No surprise, Landrieu and Lincoln are both Southern Democrats who have regularly gotten caught with corporate strings pulling them along. If we want a better democracy, it’s best not to show up at the polls for people like this.

    Exxonettes

  2. SaveFarris says:

Lincoln and Landrieu have just done more to save American jobs in one day than Barack Obama has done in 366.

  3. NCSenior says:

They sure have! Once air polution and global warming kill off a few million Americans, there will plenty of open job positions.

Both Mary and Blanche along with the greedy Republicans deliberately exhale
carbon dioxide at the bidding of their corporate masters.

They both know that the only way to reduce greenhouse gasses is to stop cows from farting.

Isn’t Landrieu the senator from LA? Isn’t LA kind of reliant upon the petroleum industry for it’s economy? Isn’t it the job of LA’s elected reps to, occasionally, do things that are in the best interests of the people of LA? Isn’t it, at all, plausible that she’s doing what’s in the best interests of her constituents and not because she hates the environment?

    SFC B,

Actually you are half right. Landrieu understands that big oil and big chemical RUN most of the business in LA, so in that respect I understand her vote but…… she could dramatically encourage new business and new energy to come to Louisiana(kinda like the West Coast is doing) but is so entrenched and consumed with getting re-elected that she fails to realize the damage it causes for the long term.

Perhaps we should just revise the Constitution so that the dominant businesses of the state decide their senators? Each business owner can have a vote for every million dollars worth of company assets. Now that corporate money can be given freely to political campaigns, I’m sure that’s just the next step. John Galt would approve.

  9. Amused Observer says:

    White Whale,
The west coast consists of 3 states. Which of those 3 is even close to encouraging new business and energy with probusiness policies? Not California, not Washington, and not Oregon.

  10. SaveFarris says:

She can encourage and “hope” all she wants, but until someone invents an engine that runs on unicorn farts, petroleum makes the economy go.

Kill the oil companies: kill economic growth. Heck of a job, Barack.

Economy and jobs are pointless if we are poisoning ourselves.

The solar industry has taken off here, when I was driving through the Central Valley during Christmas I noticed that solar power is being used for pumping water from underground for crops in some locations, but that isn’t new or probusiness, no, not at all.
