These people need help. Our own world has a whole lot of things most people in American have never seen, and some of them are pretty impressive. The falls at Niagra, the ruins of the great Central and South American civilizations, Giant Salamanders in China, the Cocunut Crabs of the Indian-Pacific islands. What are the odds these folks even know about the spiny Sand-Box Tree and it’s exploding fruit?
Really, Earth isn’t that boring. However, if the real world doesn’t do it for them, then perhaps they should just take up Dungeons and Dragons or Warhammer.
It’s teh mind control via liberal propaganda doing the damage.
It’s a sad state of affairs, isn’t it? But I’m not sure it’s related to stupidity. My theory is that lots of people (especially the young) are becoming too used to things being good, safe, and predictable, so an unfamiliar negative emotion, like boredom, can just knock the feet out from under them. We have it too good, and we increasingly don’t realise that bad emotions are a natural part of the world and of our existence.
I agree with Soullite’s comment – if only these people would take a walk in the woods, or take the time to smell a rose, they’d see things differently. It certainly works for me. It’s a wonderful planet we live on.
