    Sprawling bugger of an airport, aint it? Last time I landed there, they disembarked us on the tarmac and packed our bad selves into a bus, for a 10 or 15 minute ride. Place is like a city unto itself. If time permits, take a day trip to Wurzburg(sp?). Very beautiful city nearby.

    I miss Frankfurt! I grew up about 40 minutes away. A great German city for sure. Of course you have to check out Heidelberg. Mark Twain’s favorite city in the world.

    barstoolcadaver is right. Wurtzburg’s Residence is Germany’s answer to Versailles–incredible palace with great, great art (huge Tiepolo frescoes). Get in touch with your inner aesthete1 Then there’s Heidelberg…

    Happy belated new year! My friend Edddie is currently stationed in Germany.. just arrived there last week! He says it has been an amazing experience so far. He just bought a house and is setting up the new life over there.
