Irish Bishop Donal Murray Resigns Over Serial Child Rape Coverup In Catholic Church

It’s all still a coverup if none of these people is behind bars.

An Irish bishop has resigned, weeks after his handling of child sex abuse allegations was severely criticised.

A report on abuse by priests in the Dublin Archdiocese found Donal Murray’s handling of one case while an auxiliary bishop in the 1980s was ‘inexcusable’.

The Vatican said the Pope had accepted his resignation as bishop of Limerick.

    This is absolutely reprehensible. I think that the Bishop ought to get jail time as well. His inaction enabled that monster to keep abusing.

    Now that would be something I’d honestly like to see Frank honestly respond to. Not that I’ll hold my breath waiting. And if he does respond, I’m certain it will be in the childish tone we’ve come to expect from him.

    Frank: Here’s someone who protected and covered for pedophiles so that they could continue to rape children. You really have no problem with them facing no penalty other than being forced to retire?
