In other words, “Progressive Wins” = “We spent a sh%*load of money and all we got was this 10.2% unemployment rate.”
From all of us to all of you, thanks.
The problem is, if we had left the con policies in place, we’d be far worse off. I’m gonna be magnanimous and accept your mea culpa from 2 yrs in the future though
As opposed to, Farris, spending a shitload of money and all we got were two clusterfucked wars and a recession?
The conservative hand-wringing over fiscal responsibility can barely even be called a joke anymore.
Just where would a President McCain be right about now?
Oh right, at war with Iraq and poking North Korea with a stick.
Riiighhht; because Dumbya and Co. had it all together by plundering your economy and then pretending that watching it fall off a cliff was just testing the soundness its fundamentals, that pouring trillions into the sinkholes of Iraq and Afghanistan and keeping the costs off the books was simply a wise investment led by the march of Democracy, and that cutting taxes for the richest 2% of the country was a down payment on a solvent, fiscal future.
All of which garnered nary a concern from the Right in 8 years of smug, self-righteous adulation.
It was supposed to be the beginning of a permanent Republican empire.
But lo and behold, along comes this smart talking (formerly ‘uppity’) Black guy masquerading as an American who cons his way into the WH by trying to mess with all this bounty left behind by President Chugalug, and suddenly Conservatives can’t shit their pants fast enough.
I wonder how long it would have taken McCain to halt his Presidency mid-stream to rush back to Arizona to deal with the crisis of Meghan showing off her tits on the Internets he doesn’t use or understand?
Cons won’t admit the Bush tax cuts cost the government 2 trillion in revenue
Like that will ever happen. Look at Dick Cheney. Taking responsibility for one’s mistakes requires a degree of self-awareness that conservatives, as a rule, lack.
Certainly not. The only answer is more tax cuts. For the rich.
