Ok, as someone who highlighted this a few days ago, I have to give credit to the people who showed up (in much bigger numbers) to lustily boo the KKK protesting at Ole Miss.

I’m glad people counter rallied against those gretawire commenters

  2. Cargo says:

Wait is this the last tea party? Republican convention?

  3. Felix Helix says:

That’s got to be the timidest protest ever. What, they just stood there for ten minutes doing nothing? The odd Sieg Heil and that’s it? Granted, their uniforms are nice and shiny, but they’re not making much of a statement. Not even a “we’re here, we’re racist, get used to it” banner. I guess it would have to be more like “we’re here, we’re racist, but we’re not going to let you know who we are because that could be risky.”

What a weird combination of flamboyance and closetedness.

  4. Randy Brown says:

That’s always, always the case with modern klan rallies. After all the bravado only a handful of them show up, outnumbered at least 10-1 by counterprotestors.

The KKK are your great-grandaddy’s fascists. It’s the skinheads, Palinauts and motherBeckers who need to be watched carefully.

  5. bikelib says:

Hey now, everyone knows that the Klan–like the Nazis–are extreme leftists. And that the people targeted by these guys are the real racists. Or something.

  6. Quaker in a Basement says:

Actually, I’m glad the Klan showed up for this. Now there’s NO WAY anyone can claim the “South Will Rise Again” controversy is benign.

  7. not that ivynyc says:

Well, how seriously can you take a bunch of rednecks wearing dresses?

  8. Quaker in a Basement says:

Any of AO’s relatives in there?

  9. Robert says:

Those are some . . . foofy outfits. What happened to the severe
dignity of all-white robes? These guys would make the Knights of
Columbus look like Shakers (and I think that’s as far as I can take this).
