The sort of headline that as a kid I expected in the 21st century:

Europe: Proton beams circulate in Big Bang machine

1. We have a “big bang machine”
2. It’s circulating “beams” of stuff.
3. PROTON beams.
4. A big. Bang. Machine.

And yet, no flying cars, no food replicators, and no hoverboards. Still.

    We’re going the wrong way! :( I wanted flying cars, btw. Just as well, though, having those would’ve taken road rage at a new level. It goes to show you, we don’t deserve nice stuff.
