So there’s this ludicrous trailer for a ridiculous movie about the Tea Party people that came out today, and when I watched it I noticed that it kept showing the same black guy. Now, I knew the Teabaggers weren’t the most diverse crowd, but it’s kind of hilarious that they used the same dude in five shots in their trailer.

the voice-over is what makes it for me.
It’s a joke, right?
Isn’t it?
If that’s not a joke, it’s pretty goddamned funny.
My favorite comment on this comes from one of the Sadlynauts:
“If last summer’s tea party marches was the 2nd American Revolution, the standards for revolution carrying-outing must have lowered dramatically.
The 3rd American Revolution will presumably consist of a right winger refusing to walk to his mailbox in case a tax bill will be there. WOLVERINES!”
NATE
Well, from what I hear, the RENT-A-NEGRO store is running low these days.
It’s cute, damn it. “They would not be silenced…” That’s precious. That is pure ego massaging happy ending right there. “They laughed at me, and then I showed them by marching down the street!”
When the Iraq war was in the offing, Late 2002, there was this big march in SF, which me and a friend covered. Thousands of people showed. Next day, the papers dismissed these, and the other protests that happened, as pointless. They turned out to be right, though. And these dicks get a movie on how put upon they are by an administration that hasn’t done anything to them yet? Seriously, the Tea Party is, and I’m probably saying this because I’ve had a bad day, but they are NOT speaking for America – they are speaking to the wounded pride that they are no longer able to shove around the hippies like they were a scant few years ago. It’s a dark searing wound in their soul, which they draped a flag over and hope no one ever pokes underneath.
We were all set to have another black guy featured but, well, you know…
Like Paul_D says below, with such a mountain of evidence, surely charges have been filed after all this time. And no doubt a lawsuit has been filed as well. No?
*crickets*
How could he possibly have the time, what with that whole whirlwind speaking tour his handler was whipping up?
Speaking of, I can’t find any info upcoming tour dates. Used to be up on that amazing, donation-request happy, “We Are All Kenneth Gladney” site he had up & running less than 48 hours after he was assaulted- which is astounding, given the catatonic state he was in for at least what, a day?
But that seems to have disappeared, too… guess he outlived his usefulness. Tell me, are y’all still checking in on him to see if he’s recuperating, or, you know….
And not to defend that comically stupid, self-congratulatory piece of dreck, but it appears as if it’s character (term used loosely) driven, since the same people keep popping up– so it’s not strange for “Nate” to make several appearances in the trailer… although you could certainly argue that their prominent inclusion of a black teabagger is a cynical attempt at creating the illusion of diversity (rather than the exception to the rule).
How is that Gladney lawsuit coming
from real estate attorneyalong, Farris? I just heard a couple of Teabaggers had their asses handed back to them a week ago and voila, no criminal charges filed (again). If you look at the full clip, at the end it’s obvious they are trying to sell a DVD. Let ‘em. They want to make money like Erikson at Red State selling salt and fake dog poop. “Milk ‘em, Dano, milk ‘em.”
The teabaggers could make some real money publishing a “where’s Nate” book of all of those Fox fotos of “their” rallies. Of course most of their fans will pick out the guy in black-face and Kenyan garb with a holocaust poster by mistake.
… but they all look alike ya know?
I wonder how much they paid Nate to be there. Tokens should get well reimbursed.
One correction. His name is not Nate, it is Token!
i’m guessing nate’s lacking in the “friends of color” department.
Mike Steele couldn’t even get himself invited to an earlier teabag party. His politics seemed ok but not his skin color.
Nate’s onto something. There are eight black people in the Republican Party, and that includes two former Secrataries of State, head of the RNC, and a Supeme Court Justice. Talk about a fast track!
They should have had him wear a red bandana in one shot, and a blue in the next. “They couldn’t POSSIBLY be the same guy! They’re members of rival gangs!”
just thought I would bring you all up to speed, this man you are referring to is one of five people featured in a documentary …. so if you continually see him in these movie related photos that is why..
please research things before you comment it embarrassing.
knowledge is power.
Sad to see this blogs general focus seems to be on someone’s race and not the reason for the movie – no matter how bad the commentary sounds, which was pretty bad. You know, if people in general don’t start paying attention to what “all” government is doing to this nation, there won’t be much of one left to enjoy. For the people by the people? Not so much any more.
Sue, When was it ever government by the people????
A government run by corporations for corporations. Who gets all the welfare? Not people.
I think the word is “token”
