He’ll probably get more CNN bookings

  2. New word for argue? Seems good for himself.

    Typical conservative poster at Oliverwillis:

But, but, but… that Dire Straits song..

  4. daniel rotter says:

    Stay classy, Mr. Williams.

  5. dotlizard says:

He’s totally been watching South Park! Or, you know, not. Maybe just a clueless douche?

  6. Duros62 says:

If he’s so against it, you know what that means. He’s a cruiser.

  7. Do any of you think that he was perjoratively referring to former Pres Carter as a homosexual?
When I was growing up , we called wimps and Mama’s boys “faggots” and we didn’t know what a homosexual was.

And, of course, for Oliver, any Republican becomes all Republicans.

    • AwkwardSilence says:

Wow, that is soooooo weird that you just happened to call “wimps” and “Mama’s boys”- which probably means kids whose masculinity wasn’t up to your impeccable standards- by a term which is, unbeknownst to you, also used to denigrate gay men…. what are the odds?

It’s like putting an infinite number of monkeys in front of an infinite number of keyboards and getting a random insult that magically happens to dovetail nicely with the traits you’re attempting to insult!

I would have thought that one was indefensible… heck, shows what I know.

Also, since he also made a reference to “hairy pitted female & faggot alleged male biological train wrecks”, I’m inclined to believe that he knows what the real “f” word means.

Oh, and because he’s a fifty something year old man with access to the internet, popular culture, and common sense.

  8. Marco says:

Frank, how old is Mark Williams?

  9. MatanteDodo says:

Now now… I have a ridiculously small body, ridiculously affected by the fairly small amount of alcohol I just had, and I’m admitedly not qualified to represent anyone even when sober, but I still can tell that random namecalling is just stupid. Maybe not if trolling is what you want to do, but if the best person you can find to represent you is a troll… no comments.

Well, ignoring Awkward’s point that you obviously knew, I honestly can’t say I’m surprised you acted that way when you were young.

  11. daniel rotter says:

It’s a crude insult, Frank, in whatever context it’s used in.

  12. Yes it is Mr Rotter

  13. daniel rotter says:

    Yes it is Mr. Rotter

If you believe that, then why did you imply that its usage by Williams against former President Carter isn’t a big deal as long as the former wasn’t using it against the latter as an insulting term for a gay man (Do any of you think that he was perjoratively referring to former Pres Carter as a homosexual?)? What’s the point of raising this question if you agree with me that “faggot” is ALWAYS a crude word to use?

  14. Because I didn’t think of the word as being meant to offend gays; I wanted to make that distinction.

  15. I should add here that if the issue were simply that someone had said something that offended a former President, then surely crapstain, chimpy and Bushitler are as bad as “faggot”.

    • AwkwardSilence says:

Translation: I will add a completely irrelevant tangent to my initial ridiculous comment, just so I can take a swipe at some anonymous liberal strawmen and create the illusion of equivalence with this idiot I really shouldn’t be defending in the first place.

Also, “Chimpy” is as bad as “faggot”? Really???

You need to recalibrate your insults.

  16. daniel rotter says:

No, that’s not the issue, Frank. This isn’t just “someone,” this is the co-chair of an organization representing a very prominent and vocal political and ideological movement.
