So Redstate, and maybe other conservative groups, are going to be going after a Republican senator from UTAH? Look, it isn’t like I enjoy conservative dollars being flushed down the drain, but isn’t that a smidge off? The guy’s a Utah Republican, not exactly the kind of guy wearing sandals and sitting in a drum circle with we hippies.

    This attempted takeover of the GOP by the barking nutjobs is bad news. It will drive more and more people out of the party, sending them into the Democrats, dragging them further and further to the right. And the crazies that remain in the GOP will have a veneer of legitimacy simply by running a national political party, dragging us still further rightward. No real issues will ever be addressed because the nation will be run by the lunatics in the GOP and the douchebags in the Democratic party that want to appear reasonable by working with them.

    I mean, more than it already is.
