I noticed a LOT of these are from Playstation 2.

    Yeah, these suck. I’m a translator who works a lot in video games so I’ve got some experience with this kind of thing. A lot of them are from the PS2 because the PS2 had a lot of Japanese games that were localized for the US, and some of these were pretty low budget affairs. It’s certainly possible to do this well, but some companies don’t want to spend the time or money required, so sometimes you’d get a crappy literal translation done by a non-native speaker and voice acting by some random guy — maybe even someone who just happens to work on that company doing something else.

    ok some of them are wicked bad, but lets admit that like icruise said, they’re english versions of low budget japanese games,if its your job to do that voice for some 5 dolars an hour you dont have to try your best
