Total scum.

Steve Burton, 39, never served in any branch of the U.S. military, but he was seen and photographed several times wearing a Marine uniform and various medals, including the Navy Cross, the highest medal awarded exclusively by the U.S. Navy, federal investigators said.

The Palm Springs, California, bank officer entered a not guilty plea Thursday to a charge of ‘unauthorized wearing of military medals or decorations.’ The federal misdemeanor charge carries a maximum penalty of a year in federal prison upon conviction.

    (insert chimpy mcflightsuit joke here.)

  2. am I allowed to laugh because of the not guilty plea being entered despite there being photographic evidence of the impersonation?

  3. SaveFarris says:

Will MediaMatters be doing an expose about how Oliver just smeared the military as “total scum”?

  4. Jaim says:

“how Oliver just smeared the military as ‘total scum’?”

Are you and Frank taking the same stupid pills?

  5. Mental Midget says:

With halloween being over, how many kids will they bring up on charges for wearing uniforms and medals. This guy is a joke and plead NG to further a plea deal. He will get a HUGE fine that will benefit someone other than the expense of the tax payers.

  6. bikelib says:

I’m betting that fraudently-worn uniform was covering up a very tiny penis.

  7. Wilfredo says:

That had to be a joke, Farris, right?

  8. No, Jaim, you and apparently, have forgotten the reference to when Rush Limbaugh made a similar statement, and was accused by Media Matters, and Oliver, of calling the members of the military “scum.”

  9. should be “you and apparently, Oliver”

  10. Jaim says:

No, your leader Rush said that vets who opposed the occupation of Iraq weren’t “real” soldiers.

If you got off of his dick for at least a minute you’d see the difference.

  11. jaim, your disgusting reference proves nothing. It was still taken to mean that he disrespected all soldiers. And , for your information, I don’t listen to the show, or read hid blog.

So shove that stereotype up your ass, after you remove Olbermann’s dick.

  12. The Dark Avenger says:

Now, Frank, get the dick out of your ear before you get thrown back to reality on your ass:

During the September 26 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh called service members who advocate U.S. withdrawal from Iraq “phony soldiers.” He made the comment while discussing with a caller a conversation he had with a previous caller, “Mike from Chicago,” who said he “used to be military,” and “believe[s] that we should pull out of Iraq.” Limbaugh told the second caller, whom he identified as “Mike, this one from Olympia, Washington,” that “[t]here’s a lot” that people who favor U.S. withdrawal “don’t understand” and that when asked why the United States should pull out, their only answer is, ” ‘Well, we just gotta bring the troops home.’ … ‘Save the — keeps the troops safe’ or whatever,” adding, “[I]t’s not possible, intellectually, to follow these people.” “Mike” from Olympia replied, “No, it’s not, and what’s really funny is, they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media.” Limbaugh interjected, “The phony soldiers.” The caller, who had earlier said, “I am a serving American military, in the Army,” agreed, replying, “The phony soldiers.”

You’ll notice that there’s a player and a transcript for the folks here so that unlike the politically challenged, which you represent, like it or not, they can see for themselves who is correct, you or their lying eyes and ears.

“…it was taken to mean that he disrespected all soldiers.”

No, it was “taken to mean” that Rush disrespected those soldiers who were opposed to the war in Iraq.
