Ellsworth is a good guy. Former sheriff and a staunch Catholic; abortion is a key issue for him and for his district. Not sure how it would’ve looked with his getting his name on the Stupak Amendment that passed that day and then voted against the health care bill later that night- when the Stupak provisions were more anti-abortion than his proposals.

As of the day before the vote, he was still undecided, though.
