Jessica Alba In The Killer Inside Me

It’s an Albasance, I guess. Pretty intense NSFWish trailer. I never got around to reading the novel this is based on.

Jessica Alba + Jim Thompson novel = Victory!
Trailer? How about the whole movie? How dumb are audiences these days that they need to know every plot point before they plunk down their cash?
I’m going to risk being banned and say to Mr. Willis, “Jessice Alba? Really?”
I mean, she’s OK and all. Wouldn’t criticize her for eating crackers in my bed, etc. But you could do so much better! Katherine Heigl for example.
I couldn’t see how someone could make a movie of that book, but this looks worth watching. This is very different from the image of the story I have in my head, but it gets the horror of it down.
It’s been years since I read the book – but what made it compelling was the first person narrative of a sociapathic small town cop who is supressing a dark incident from his childhood, but yet fully aware of his “sickness”. That’s not to say it couldn’t be made into a great movie, but first person narrative is difficult to convey cinematically without resorting to voice or heavy reliance on POV, and it looks like there was no attempt to recreate it here. I have larger doubts about Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson, neither of whom has impressed me in the past, and Hudson especially seems weak in the trailer.
On the plus side Casey Affleck was amazing in The Assasination of Jesse James, also playing a character named Ford, and looks to be delivering the goods in this film as well. And the trailer does give away too much.
I love that make-up commercial she is currently in where she pops out of a phone booth and asks the director “Another take?”
Yes, dear. That was terrible.
J/K, Oliver!
The novel is okay, imho. I actually liked After Dark, My Sweet and the Grifters a lot better.
